As my aunt was doing some genealogy research, she started reaching out to people with my grandmother's maiden name, and got into contact with a woman in Australia. Turns out, their family had the exact opposite problem! they didn't know where their ancestor had come from before he was in Australia. After confirming some details, they finally put that branch back on our family tree. This is one of our Imlach family, and my grandma was able to visit them when he was much younger at a family reunion.
