@@ghiblet I would say they are discordant enough to be solos. They're really only sharing a rhythm, not much harmony. By your logic it isn't a guitar solo unless the bass and drums shut up.
I generally think of Jemaine as doing the best voices, and he does have a career as a voice actor. But they're both so damn good at everything. It's weird. They have such different looks, but they're essentially interchangeable.
I think finding a best-friend at this level should be called "finding your Conchord". Similar to Matt and Trey (South Park). Thankful for comedy today ^^
@@adamkatt uuhhhh.... I didn't know if I let my boys watch flight of the Conchords I'm pretty sure one of them would draw some Stars on themselves in a place that David Bowie supposedly recommended Brett do.... Or start singing about their sugar lumps..
They are a living legend. Would love to see them some day... I have this feeling like all similar guy groups like Ylvis and Tenacious D are inspired by them :)) Although Tenacious D might be older, not sure now.
Thanks to this I need them to made the score of a period movie or a parody period movie and that they starring it as the troubadours who follow the characters while playing and telling the story like the rooster in Robin Hood. I picture Jemaine as the over-confident one with his He-Man haircut and with a large pencil mostache, giving sassy smiles the whole time while Bret would be the shy one who's actually smarter, wearing a hat with a big feather on it.
I always get the impression that they dont follow the exact lyrics every performance. They know the songs so well that they improvise new jokes every performance and sing it a little differently. They probably practice many different performances of the same songs
They hardly ever cut out bits (unless they just not remember them) but they do improvise a lot and add things... Personally I think it's a better song when Brett is in it...
The performance at the 02 last month was great, they did a really extended version of Faux du Fa Fa, with lots of insult throwing in french xD The version they did of this also had a few extra lines, about how Jermaine got a picture ID..."a very unflattering tapestry" ;)
They're Kiwi. I once observed an online thread in which a whole bunch of random Kiwis spun a wild deadpan story about a tradition of eating spiders in New Zealand. I think it's a national superpower.
All three of them play flutes called a Recorder toward the end. The one at 5:44 is a Tenor recorder. Jemaine plays an Alto Recorder, and Bret plays a Soprano Recorder.
Not since the summer of 1353 have I heard such wooing.
😂
Wooing ain't what it used to be!
"For this I'd recommend a rose. For a rose-like scent I'd probably go with a rose."
That's a florist that knows her job! 😂
Points for extreme historical accuracy.
3 simultaneous recorder solos... what a supergroup!
Think you were going for *consecutive there.
@@ghiblet They are going all at once for one bit.
@@HuddBob then it's not a solo haha
@@ghiblet I would say they are discordant enough to be solos. They're really only sharing a rhythm, not much harmony. By your logic it isn't a guitar solo unless the bass and drums shut up.
@@HuddBob It's not a guitar solo if there are other instruments. A true instrumental solo is a single instrument.
I'm officially wooed.
Blue Sunshine jabroni
I was born in 1341 and this has always been my jam
“I maketh not the rules” quoth he is such an underrated line 🤣
Whatever form of artistic endeavour this pair touch immediately turns to gold. Their talents are incredible.
That was the most savage flute battle I've ever seen!!
Actually, that's the first flute battle I've ever seen xD
Recorder, actually. Close enough.
Record her, I barely knew her.
Check out old Jethro Tull concert footage
Bret absolutely nails that note at the end of his hairdresser impression. Angelic...
The moment when Bret realized he was being dirty in front of a kid. Priceless.
or when he doesn't realize he pointed the flute at the kid instead of the MIC haha
@@bartleyruckman3313Think he was trying to let the kid play the flute but the kid didn't realise 🤣
@@thatpunkcatte recorder, but yes
Love it when Bret did all the different voices.

Bret may well be the most awesome human being ever. His dealing with the child was perfect. He deserves every success he gets.
"alas I have no ID on me who even carries ID it's 1353. I maketh not the rules, quoth he."
They changed that line in this version, I think it was one of the worst changes.
Most relatable, unto this very day.
The lyrics are great, but the music is also really enjoyable on its own.
horse is big, the tights are fun..the hairs a little 1351 😂🎠🌹
Taylor Sachs hahahah nice
well, He-Man has the very same haircut... HE-MAN, double masculine...
GENIUS! LOL "oh is that the time?" "Just say I wooed you anyway..."
Erin Fisher I think i might be coming with a little touch of the plague
Recorder solos. Bloody brilliant!
I think finding a best-friend at this level should be called "finding your Conchord". Similar to Matt and Trey (South Park). Thankful for comedy today ^^
Bret actually wrote this during a trip to Middle-Earth.
This is easily the best version. I was in Texas and saw them. Hilarious!
They forgot the part about getting an unflattering tapestry
My day was shit until i saw this. All better now
this has very strong what we do in the shadows vibes love them for it
3 recorder solos at the same time. Legendary lol
Umm...
Bret should voice characters on Skyrim
figwit
Grayson Dubose I heard they were planning to hire 1 additional voice actor to the next Elder Scrolls
@Grayson Dubose He could all of the 4 voice actors.
@Nick Pease that was Jemaine
Brit
the ending was legendary
WOOOO there it is
Lmfao "Jemaine there are some really young kids here" (Jemaine stops thrusting)
MilkDawg Mcgee who brings kids to flight of the concords? People are so weird.

Bret's impressions are just too perfect :D
MY DATE:come over and meet my kids?
ME: Ooh is that the time i must be on my way!
i think i'm coming down with a bit off the plague.
This aged well.
They know how to end on a high note.
As a Aussie I love my Kiwi Neighbours . they are fantastic . a complete Scream.
Holding the recorder to that kid's face is so savage XD
...thank god he didn't try n play it
For a rose-like scent I'd suggest a rose...LOL!
Aw they left out my favorite part after the stable man asks him for an id he says, "I had an unflattering tapestry made of me." 🤣
I remember when this first came out
They were far ahead of their time
I'm not normally a fan of woo woo but that was a great record.
Scientific woo is bad, but pretty lady woo is awesome! ;-)
I like how at 3:05 Jemaine forgets to setup Bret, so Bret does a double take, then says his line, and even he knows it's wonky.
"I think I'm coming down with a bit of the plague" :DDD
Visionary
This. This, isn’t great.
They are a living legend. Would love to see them some day... I have this feeling like all similar guy groups like Ylvis and Tenacious D are inspired by them :)) Although Tenacious D might be older, not sure now.
Tenacious D was around long before them. Both great in their own ways! Bill Bailey is another talented musician who is also a brilliant comedian.
Tenacious D was 94, conchords were 4 years after
These are so great!

This is awesome.
that was very good 👍😁❤️
"He-Man has the same haircut" XD
Really gives me some nice Jethro Tull vibes ... Songs From The Wood, Minstrel in The Gallery ... great voice !
Brett is channeling Ian Anderson. It's in the eyes.
thanks for posting this!
We are the different. We are the same. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pitching woo, as it was once called. Woo! Woo!.
That flute solo part really gave me some Stalker soundtrack (the 1979 film) vibes at the beginning.
These guys are so funny !
I wish they kept the line "I had a very unflattering tapestry made of me"
DEFINITELY 😊STAY
Awesome 👏

They made the recorder badass :)
Duelling flutes - very medieval 🏰
This just shows not only now but they would of been big hits in 1953
Damn. Big fan. Never heard this one, awesome. I don’t know about these guys though, too devious.
This had a bit of the mighty Tenacious D about it. Imagine a D/Conchords mashup. Jemaine and J-balls. Brett and Rage Kage. Awesome.

Medieval classical / folk
Guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk.
Medieval Top 40 - “No thump, no bump, just Woo”
If you like this, try Jethro Tull
I bet he wooed the hell out of that lady🤣
How do they keep themselves from laughing?
They must've not been deprived of laughter as children.
Lol looks like he might've accidentally made the kid think he was handing him the mic, not the recorder.
This. THIS! Was sat around and bull penned. And made. Oh, to be a fly on that wall.
woo woo woo woo woo woo😂😂😂

what is the instrument played at 5:44? Is it a recorder?
Yeah
These guys should do a track with Jack and ragecage.
Doesn't get much more epic than this. Shit, two dudes should've fought to the death, with swords, at the end of the song.
what is the instrument that Brett plays at 3:03?
It's called an Autoharp
