It’s a shame people only remember 2019 Federer for 40-15 when in reality, that was actually a pretty good year for Fed. He won two La Decima’s in Halle and Basel, won his 100th career title in Dubai, was one set away from the Sunshine Double in IW/Miami, reached SF at RG only losing to clay god Rafa after not playing on clay for 3 years, beat Rafa at Wimbledon SF, was one point from being the oldest Wimbledon champ, and beat Novak at YEC killing the Serbs chances at YEN1. He finished as the world #3 which is not bad for a 38 year old

So true 2019 Fed was incredible - another measure of his high level is the fact that all (or nearly all) of his losses were to top 10ers

Djokovic ended Federer's dream run in Wimbledon, in return Federer stopped him from reaching year end no.1.

It was really Novak fans who like to look back and highlight that 40-15 wimbledon finals. Everything and anything to diminish Federer's career to ensure that Novak is the only one that's recognized.

Fully agree with you there. Eastbourne and Mallorca I think are too close to Wimbledon to draw in all the top players as they certainly want to rest before the major, and Rhode Island just isn’t prestigious enough. However, I can easily see Queen’s Club, Halle, or s’Hertogenbosch being upgraded to the Masters 1000 level, especially the last two since they’re in a different country than Wimbledon and something about that just makes sense to me🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Not even he played this at age 38 and finished at #3. Now with the new Federer Documentary "12 Last Days" (20.06.2024) you all can get an Idea, what he really played at!!!! You saw him, doesn't chase short balls or playing extreme defensive. Guys, His Knee(s) were done! Done for that ATP level. The GOAT debate is very simple in my eyes. No matter how many Records, no matter how much slams anyone have or had. Roger is and was above the GOAT. And at the retirement, he is and will be the legendary God. Roger Brought Rafa, Nole, and many other Gens at the point where they are now. It was all about Roger. Everything was build around Roger, to stop him, find tactics, techniques. There can be a GOAT debate between Rafa, Nole, Carlitos, anyone. Roger is smth different. You all need really to watch "12 Last Days" - you will can so much more view of all. And even this last double he played! Even this Match, nobody could say, can the Knee manage it? Watch federer against Nadal, Nole before they got big. What does Roger to them? They learned, they were talented, they stayed focused. Roger Build Djokovic, Roger Build Rafa, Roger build more than 50% of modern Tennis. Active or even passive.
Alcaraz: 1/3 Roger, 1/3 Nole, 1/3 Rafa and a tiny tiny bit Alcaraz mentality. The simplest Example how time changes the sport. Daddy schooled, now we can see Rogers Legacy!

I agree with the legacy of big 3 and also people before them like sampras, borg, laver and others but I don't agree with that part of yours to call roger is above GOAT or some legendary god.
I am a true tennis fan and from my eyes you are talking like a fan boy.
Remember this no matter which era or how much time pass or a player accomplishes in his career beyond even our imagination even then no one and I literally mean no one is above tennis itself and will remain truth for all other sports as well.
what you are feeling for roger now, some people feel the same for sampras before and for borg and Rod laver as well but time pass and people move on but the sport remains that's why in my eyes there shouldn't be a GOAT debate or if there is then the parameters should be straight up with the accomplishments, major records, level of competition and then comes his contribution in the game.
This way future generation will also have a shot to call themselves as greatest ever which is right now without a shadow of a doubt is Novak djokovic and if in future someone overtakes his accomplishments then it will be him

The funny thing about Bathroombreakovic fans is that, if given the opportunity to magically copy all of Mole's or Federer strokes, they would 100% choose Fed's unless they're completely living in denial. Not only are Fed's strokes more aesthetic, but they're much, much more effective. Just another reason why Federer is the GOAT. Let's see how the Bathroombreakovic fans cope with this one 🤣
