That granulation medium makes for a very atmospheric, moody scene Cathryn. Lovely work :-)
Stunning! ❤

That was very educational & you explained your techniques in simple relatable terms -
The finished work was impressive. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your feedback and happy painting!
Beautiful watercolors, beautiful views, thank you for sharing!
I really enjoyed your video. A great atmospheric scene. The way that you used the granulation media was different from some of the other artists. Your method seemed to work much better and gave the effect that I would be proud of.
Other people add it to the paint before starting. Thank you for sharing.
Very beautiful work, I like it, have a nice day

Really enjoyed watching this video. Loved the experimental techniques. It turned out beautiful 🤩 Subscribed.
This is stunning! I love the atmospheric feel. ❤️
Beautiful
Thank you.
Beautiful results. Most masking fluids recommend NOT using a hairdryer because it can cause it to stick and often discolors the paper...I think you got lucky this time.😮
Glad you liked the demo. I’ve always used a hairdryer and it’s been fine. It depends on the quality of the paper.
Love it
Just come across your channel l think you're work is brilliant and like the way you explain things look forward to your next watercolour

You should do more loose watercolor like this. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you! Glad you liked the demo. I will consider creating more like this.
I just found this video and I like the way you paint this landscape. I did not yet work with granulation medium but I will try this. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video.
This is remarkable!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed watching!
Hello, just found this video. What a beautiful work!
I didn't know Cotman paints can produce such a stunning effect with granulation.
I also love your colour choice!
Will try to do this landscape too :)
Thank you very much! Yes, have a go!
I've been researching watercolor and granulation processes, which is probably why your video came up in my "home" page on UA-cam. I'm so glad it did! This is a beautiful work. The previous viewer commented surprise about Cotman producing such a stunning effect. That doesn't surprise me because of the increased ratio of binder and filler in Cotman, which is why my old set is sitting in the back bottom of my paint tubes drawer. 😂 It makes perfect sense that granulation medium would react with Cotman this way. Guess what! I'm going to drag out that old half-pan set and give this a try. Thanks for sparking the fire.
I love your technique in this demonstration are you doing anymore artwork in this style?
Thank you. Yes, planning on making more videos soon. Will definitely demo more experimental watercolours.
Hi Cathryn, thanks for a lovely demo. Do you find that different brands of watercolour, react differently to the granulation fluid? Some watercolours don't react and separate at all. It seems like the more expensive brands appear to get the best reaction, although my Derwent Graphitint palette does produce some good results.
Thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed the demo. Yes, I also find the more expensive brands perform better with the granulation fluid such a Daniel Smith and Schmincke. But I always experiment with all different brands and materials to see, as you never know when you can stumble across a good mix to create can interesting effect!
hello Cathryn, just come across your video. can you Increase your voice in a video ? . I turned up the sounds on the computer almost to the end.. Thanks for the video, the explanation is excellent. I enjoyed it.
Didn't you mean to say that you need to make sure the paint is totally DRY before taking off the masking fluid? Beautiful work.
Yes I did! My mistake. Thank you
I can't hear you? Unfortunately the sound of the video is very bad. :(
Sorry you can't hear it, others haven't had a problem based on their comments and I can hear it fine. Maybe alter your speakers.
