Please do a Logic Pro course like this!
I bet that's a popular choice
This is perfect. Were you reading my mind? I expected $200+ price tag. $60 is a no-brainer. Can’t wait to get started! I’ve owned Cubase for over a year, and haven’t done anything with it cuz I don’t know what to do. All I’ve used for DAW is GarageBand on my phone.
Thank you for your contagious passion! You make the whole world a better place!
thanl you
I would definitely do a course on Reaper. Been using it for years but I still feel pretty clueless.
OK reaper is a good shout
I WANT to learn Reaper but it's kind of arcane compared to just about everything else
I use Cubase more than Reaper and really think it is worth the cost and time to compose and edit in Cubase over Reaper (I know Reaper has a ton of support and uses, but Cubase really is very good)
@@Malikeththeblackbladee I once mentioned spitfire on a comment and it was removed.
Reaper is mode modular and perfect as any DAW when you know how. So, +1 to reaper course
If you finish DAW school, wouldn't you technically be a dawyer? ;)
This new course type looks like a ton of fun, Guy - such a good concept!
While there are plenty of DAW tutorials out there already, I have no doubt whatsoever that this course will carry the brand of clarity, enthusiasm and sense of fun that is entirely typical of anything Guy and his team produce. Great stuff, and look forward to joining it.
Logic Pro, would be a very good option for a lot of people.
Looking forward to doing this over the summer!
REAPER (saying so because I can't seem to find the poll... maybe it's been taken down??). In any case, a hearty double-thumbs up for this series!
I started on Cubase 10.5 in April 2020, upgraded to 13 pro earlier this year. I only get on for a weekend every fortnight or so due to work/family commitments. I reckon this is just what I need as Cubase is not feeling like my best friend right now!😅
FL Studio - thanks!
In particular good tips for working on orchestral music with it.
FL is very different....but I know a guy who knows it inside out
@@ThinkSpaceEducation Alex Moukala!
@@sikoor166exactly who I was thinking. He's the reason why I've been casually following more people like Guy in the first place.
Please do a Studio One course like this!
I think this is great idea, thanks Thinkspace. Currently I have a 20.00 monthly subscription with Studio 1 Version 6, for about the last 6 months. Although all these different software DAWs (Pro logic, Reaper, Albeton etc..) has proprietary file extensions, for myself everything will always be output as midi, wave or mp4 files, making them compatable with each other. The quality and quantity of the plug-ins and VST libraries between different DAW is where my curiosity lies. When it comes to using DAWs and studio software, I have tend to come to the conclusion, but only from watching a lot of ytube videos, same controls different places, more of a work flow preference, and the little tricks that make the work flow less involved in clicking and operating sofware and more time exploring musical ideas. Thank you Guy and all the folks at Thinkspace, for offering all these great courses.
Presonus Studio One!
That's exactly what I was looking for... bought!
You Mr. DAWmore has just been promoted to God by no other than myself. Cubase has been living on my Mac for two years, and I've never gotten around to learn it well enough to be able to use it any meaningful way. Later this month, I'll move into my new work room, and bang in the middle of it there will be me learning Cubase. It's not a minute too early. Most great composers were dead long before the reached my advanced age.
Ohhh, please do Studio One next!
Oh i saw it later, will have to wait until next discount
I'm going to go for it even though I've been using Cubase for a few years, as I'm sure I'll pick up some useful tips.
I have two quick questions... Does it matter which version? (I'm still using Cubase 10.5 Pro). And, is the mixing section done exclusively with Cubase plugins?
Thanks. Looking forward to it!
hello, reapper perhaps i have started to try this one, it is a cheaper but a lot of menu and possibilities that look like a labyrinth
Can i go along at my own pace with these modules? Thanking you in advance
Cubase user here...
I'd love to see workshops on Bitwig, I see it making quite a lot of noise recently and for the EDM and sound design side of things I think Bitwig is going to be a great addition
Bitwig excites me. I've just upgraded to Studio from the 8-Track that came with my Nektar LX-61+ software bundle. Its sound design potential is why I'm going to experiment with it after being frustrated by Reason's lack of progression. Bitwig workshops would definitely appeal to me, (and - surely - all Bitwig users who also appreciate Guy's style).
@@TheValueOfN I also transitioned from being a long time reason user to Cubase.
I still use Reason as a vst within Cubase for some of the tools like the chord generators / arpeggiators etc ..the very unique tools for inspiration but yeah they really didn't progress and although v13 will bring some editor updates they really aren't a match for Cubase.
I think Bitwig is also a very efificient environment for EDM, I've seen folk that made the switch comment on just how much more work they get done in that respect.
Also they have 50% off all versions for the next 10 which is really making me want to jump in 🤣
Will the mixing mastering part only focus on pop music, or is there also info on orchestral/film scoring projects?
I'm interested in that type of course but I happen to be using Presonus Studio One (purchased due to the audio interface ..).
I can't find the poll for other DAWs than Cubase -- mentioned in the video.
Where can the poll be found?
Does this require Cubase 13 Pro?
Studio One please 🙏 ❤
nope!! ^^ former hardcore S1 user. Now back on Cubase 13. And very happy... C13 is way better for composing and midi editing, and the stock effects are also much better than the lame stuff in S1. C13 highly recommend.
@@Byron101_Cubase one is done, though. So S1 is one of the (many) remaining good choices.
I'm a Cubase user since Cubase 5. But I'm always interested in learning new tips & tricks. Maybe there's even some functions I haven't been using right.
Does this go into really advanced stuff or is it just a full on first step into cubase ?
As a Logic user for 30 years I would like to know more about Reaper.
(and protools, but for this one this is just professional, not for pleasure obviously)
Yay! Cubase help! Im a beginner.
made just for you
Till when is the discounted price available?
That's a good price! Please do reaper next.
Is Cubase elements enough to get by with the course or is Pro needed? Thanks.
Is template building included or will that come in an 'advanced' course? :)
I've used cubase since the Atari days. First on an st then a falcon.
After a million years and I bought 13 pro....
OMFG ..
Omg omg omg
Things have changed
they really have.... Atari 1040!
1:20 - student before starting the course
2:09 - student halfway through the course
😎
Hi, Which Cubase version will be enough for the course, I see they do a 60 day trial for the full, but I do eventually want to buy it. Will Elements be enough or will I need to go for the Artist version. I will probably only be doing some personal music or music for my Games.
Some of the features we cover are in the full version but the fundamentals of recording editing etc are the same in all editions
what software / website / hardware set up do you use to back up your data / projects / sample libraries etc? thank you.
FYI - Im on windows 10. so carbon copy cloner isnt an option.
Where is the Stretch notes function in Cubase? (In Key Editor)
Is writing music in dorico and using the playback from there viable in a professional setting
I would love to see a course on Pro Tools.
Sold! Just got Cubase recently and I've been struggling 😅
Excellent - hope you enjoy it!
Make it through DAW school and you can pass the bar with no treble at all. 😛
Well, if you make a video comparing cubase to reaper then I'll think about it.
I have Cubase Artist and have just left it as couldn’t get to grips with it!
you just needed DAWschool!
Studio One
Aha - its defintely on the up isnt it?
Can you tell me, is this DAW School based around Cubase v13? [Edit: Answered my own question, it's in the FAQ, Yes, they use Cubase v13 :-) ]
I'm an Ableton guy, but I imagine a lot of the features are the same as Cubase.
I really like the idea, can’t wait for Logic Pro.
Also, finally a company that costs products based on currency and not same amount regardless of currency. Awesome!
Ableton 👍
I know you use cubase guy. But It would be an interesting concept that if the instructor (who ever it is) teaches a new software say FL Studio, you will be the student in the video. So we can see a genuine judgement and reaction from someone who knows how to use other DAW but not with the other ones.
Dorico!
Nuendo please and Reaper.
There's at least over 50 types of DAWs so I can see how this idea will take a while to make
Ableton live Please. Thanks
Ableton Live, Reaper, or Studio One please.
You would start with the pricier one first, wouldn’t you.
DAW snob 😁😘😘😘
Logic please!!!
Dorico, please. I can not find my way in this software.
There are lots of tutorials for dorico on their youtube channel.
Reaper por favor👍
Logic, RX, MuseScore, OPUS, Spitfire BBC Orchestra,
well thatsthe rest of my year taken care of then
@@ThinkSpaceEducation Sure, I'll give ye a hand lol
An advanced Logic Pro course would be great!
Oh man really want to get Cubase but I just can't justify spending the money when I already have a daw that works. I just think Cubase would work better.
it is....it just is
I currently use FL studio for orchestra midi, but it just feels like it's really not made for this. I bought it when I was 18 lol
How to use the thing no one can afford...
Stay tuned for "how to drive a Ferrari" 😄👍
I use Reaper, it just works, but it certainly isnt user friendly.
Most of the things built into Cubase arent built into Reaper, but you can generally find what you need in the JSFX addon.
I just bought Logic Pro. Please feature Logic Pro in DAW School.
Ill add it to the list
Surely the first in such a series ought to be one of the free DAWs - (Reaper, cakewalk, many others) - let's be fair, you're not going to spend a lot of money on your first one (or at least, you shouldn't!)
If only Cubase came with a decent manual...
Pro Tools
First :)
Well done Matt
Thanks I'm proud lol
Cubase? Sorry, never…
Is there a way to message you in private 2 ask a question?
Hi! thanks for your amazing content.
- Digital Performer - would be nice
