This is a unique layout which I’ve never seen before. Very functional. Could we get a more slowed down walkthrough? You had the camera sweeping pass things too fast!

Fantastic!!! The only thing I’d have done differently is I would have put it higher so it would be easier to crawl under. Then just a personal preference, no wall texture. it was great to see so many age groups helping😁. Well done and thanks for sharing!

Great tiny house! I wonder what’s the story behind it. I thought it was a grandfather building it with all the grandchildren…
there are 13 of us kids, and my oldest sister got married and wanted to stay close to are family so are dad and us boys built this for them and then a year later we sold the property and the house and moved down from Washington to Texas
I love this design inside and out, especially the staircase. It doesn't even look like there's an upstairs. The only thing I would change would be to have the bathroom open into the living room instead of the kitchen. Otherwise, great job 👏 👍!

I have one disappointing issue with watching these tiny sheds being turned into these lovely tiny homes.
No one... Shows how they've provided any vapor barriers insulation or rodent protection from under the floor above the ground. And it just seems to me that if this money is going to be spent this is an extraordinarily important issue that needs to be shown. My thought is people going in taking this task on and then in less than a year realize the floor is cold You got mice poop all over the place and the board swelled and warped from absorbing ground moisture.

Definitely one of the better builds I've seen. Loved the floating footings for convenience (if you don't have serious storms or cyclones in that area) Us aussies learnt the hard way that wooden structures need deep footings in 1974 when the entire city of Darwin was flattened by cyclone Tracey. Thank you so much for sharing and teaching others. Kind regards from a lady cabinetmaker.

I have watched videos of people building homes that I had to stop watching because I was angry about them not using the correct techniques etc... I found that I enjoyed watching this video... I was happy to see so many thigns done right.. It was refreshing and made me smile on many occasions. I loved seeing the dormers, I didn't expect them. I loved seeing the arched windows for the loft when I didn't expect them... I was VERY excited to see the corner staircase over the washer and the fridge... I enjoyed this build very much. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. ~hugs

And if it was a construction company, did the $12,000 include their charge or was the $12,000 just for the materials and you had to pay the contractor on top of that?

the ceiling in the loft is 4ft tall so you have to go on your knees when your up there

No not right now
cute place but betta fish need at least a 3-5 gallon aquarium with a filter. You may be able to escape your shack to the wider world, but he's in prison. Fishes need swimming space if you want it to live longer and well. If all you want is a decoration, just have plants.

@@thewoodshed15 Yeah, I didn't know that about bettas either until I saved one from a local pet store (in a tiny tub looking really sick) and put it in a 1-gallon, then got educated by other UA-camr fish hobbyists. They say 5 gallon at min, but I've not the space...my guy has really been doing well in a 3 gallon tho..Cheers!!

It was good seeing all those kids working at first I thought it was just gonna be the grandpa doing at all. Although I think somebody should’ve tied the stuffed toy onto that little girls back An giver her a hammer so that she could hammer along with the little boy. Not saying anything political here just saying group work events as a whole group. And I’m really glad to see that you didn’t have any stupid masks on! Nice house :-)

@@thewoodshed15 perfect, I think I'd put a Murphy bed where the couch is and have a bar table/chairs where the sofa is. Move them back when it came time to bring the bed down. You've truly done a great job! Thank you!

Great plan. I love the fact that from what I saw, you nailing plywood over the house before doing the rafters for a roof were stalled. That's safer and keeps you and your helpers from falling through.

Bravo ! So touching to see all generations working together on the same project ! I wish we could get your plan of the tiny house only the wooden structure. I don't mean to still your ideas but the size of it seems so right... 12/16 looks like good but where are the stairs situated in the tiny house and shower ... Thank you anyway for this full of energy moment on video with all of the family of yours !
Here is a link to the site we got their manual from but customized it to make it more of a office/livable space. We basically made it from scratch using their plan as a print. We could have purchased the kit but Saved about $4000 by sourcing our own lumber.
