Hello all, Its about time I completed number 26 on the list of issues with my Toyota Supra. This ment cleaning and painting, and then fitting the Lexus LS400 V8 front 4 pot calipers and discs.
This is a great upgrade of the standard Jspec calipers, But not better than the Uk spec breaks as they are much bigger and better performing. But these are great for the price. These cost me £140, ideally need some new pads, discs will clean up, but i will evaluate them during summer. Just trying to get the car ready for its remap early May.

Would these bolt directly on to a jzx100 or would I have to buy adapters?
What are the size of the rotors? Can't find any specs...
Great video! Researching the same upgrade at the moment and wondered how the brakes turned out. Did you feel any considerable changes from the j-specs?
Also wondering how much these calipers poke in to the wheel in comparison to the j-spec calipers, since i'm kinda short of room there to the spokes.

Y didn’t u clean up and paint the guards and centres of discs whilst u cleaned up the calipers

To be fair it will eventually have new discs and pads. Just on a budget at the moment and a short time scale for the remap so wanted to get the car chucked to gather as quick as so could. I'll paint the guards at some point lol

What does she brake like now?? Ive just ordered mine off ebay...200 quid... will my na will stop now😂 one question ihavnt looked at the brakes yet but are tgey one unit or is there a carrier involved like most caliper brakes? Im just watching your video again
nevile bartos watch the video and you will see. The my are only a caliper. No carrier needed. But you need to file that edge away.
And yes it will stop. Great improvement over the jspec

Robert Cepeda hi Robert I'm not actually sure. A friend had the ls400 for drifting then decided to part it out. I don't know a year. If you want some make sure they sure they are the 4 pot calipers as they do some others which are smaller.
I done this last year, I needed to cut off the dust sheilds as bending them back did not feel effective enough, also the amount of bubbles that came out of mine was unreal, very much like yours. The brakes are not a million miles from the j-spc, maybe 30% better stopping power. Also hope you were using high temp paint on the calipers.

@@HK.Builds a lot of guys upgrade but there is no need, the regular ones work fine, also my MOT is next Friday and when I looked it up 'cut dust shields' are a fail so I went out with a 10mm spanner and removed the 4 bolts from it and cut it in the center and it can be pulled off the hub.
@@heilong79 thanks for the reply. My existing hosed are in a really bad state so thought i may aswell upgrade. So did you use the existing stock supra brake line, did that fit ok into the caliper? Interesting i didn't know about the cut dust shield thing!
@@HK.Builds yeah, I reused the nut at the end of the line also, if you have copper washers you can put in a new one otherwise just use the existing one.
What rotors did you use? I had a set of slotted project MU rotors but they didn’t fit in the caliper. Are these stock Supra rotors that your using??
No. These are Lexus LS400 calipers pads and brake discs.
Bluudys Garage ok ya apparently the set I bought were TT Supra rotor size. They didn’t fit lol. Thanks for the help.

The ls400 brake kit for the supra is only for the front? what about the rear?
Not sure on what upgrade to have on the rears dont think ls400 fit

Yes they fit straight on.

You’ve got quite a bit of carbon on your car. Why not get you wheels dipped in carbon fibre? It will match your sun strip.
And from a distance it looks a mix of black and silver, so I haven’t really deviated from black or silver.
Luke Stogden fair point. If they get dipped and then curbed it would be a pain to have dipped again. Least if it's black I can touch it in.
