PAUTOVA (RUS) demonstrated her country's strength in women's middle
distance running as she sped away from Elena CONGOST (ESP) with 350m to
go to win the T12 women's 1500m in 4:37.65, uncorking a last lap of
1:10.24. The Spaniard hung on to finish second in 4:43.53, while
Annalisa MINETTI (ITA) took the bronze medal and, as a more severly
impaired athlete, also clocked a T11 world record of 4:48.88. "It's not

not feel the fame of being Paralympic champion again, but it was my

I'm guessing her guide lost contact sometime during the race, and while he finally caught up with her he tried to say to her he was back.
But he was a little bit too blunt. It almost seems like he pushed her intentionally (but that's probably not the case)
As bad as the situation was that the girl fell because her guide lost her, I feel like the reporter gloating about how males are more superior as guides can finally shut up now.

Female guide runners are reliable enough, is the guide runs a 47 second 400 and the runner runs a 48, how do you know if the guide won’t hold the runner down. Just saying either choose at 47 second girl or a 44 second guy, no contest

So much inconsistency. Why do some have guides, some are blindfolded, the winner and second place have neither.
The thing I don’t understand is if you don’t have enough athletes for three classes, why would you combine t11 and t12 in this fashion. It looked like there were enough people if you combine the t11 people with the t12 people with guides, and hand each competitor a blindfold so it’s fair. And move up the two t12 people without guides the option of the t13 heat, or this heat using a guide they have trained with and a blindfold, and make this decision with enough notice that they could bring a trusted guide if they wished.
nicole h why do they have male guides and not women?? Males are extremely faster than women. It should be the same sex.
Skinny Bootyme it doesn’t matter, the man can run very fast but if the athlete isn’t as fast as him he will go at the same pace as her, and there arent many women who can run faster than these women (if they do they probably dont have the time for this, bc competitions) and there are more men who can outrun these athletes so that’s why there are more male candidates to be guides

Why t11 runners are blindfolded in this race? It's already t12 race and t12 can see better than them. T11 is for blind ones.
