Hi madam. I asked for Edexcel IGCSE English Language B, not AQA.
It's a good idea to put an embedded quote in your introduction. e.g. Priestley shows how "we are all members of one body" and explores issues surrounding capitalist ideologies... this is a really good way of impressing your examiner because it will show them that you have good knowledge of the play (as you have quotes to spare) and also justifies your introduction by linking it directly to dialogue from the play.
Thanks for the tip thats great!
So do u also use evidence or is that ur evidence?
@@WilliamB-ph5jgThat is your evidence
@@WilliamB-ph5jgRemember William embedded quotes is the evidence as it's the direct statements from the source.
tmr's the exam, hi to everyone else also just last minute cramming :/ thankyou for the help first rate tutors!
Helloooo
Hi
Hii im here for the mock exams
Is this an actual gcse paper she doing or similar to it
How was it
My teacher taught us the PETAL structure. Point, Evidence, Technique, Analysis, Link. Its so useful if you forget to mention a technique!
Yea same
I'll always choose the theme but I hope it's a good one for 2024 GCSE
Same bro 😕
these vids help so much, i got my grade 2 to a 6 :)
same haha but from 3 - 6
@@zylo5131 for real these vids are actually a godsend
bro how did you used it to get grade 6
damnnn im tryna get a t least a 6/7 im prayingg
@@itsW1ngW0nggrade 7 is all about perspective, so it’s more reading between the lines, looking at how it makes you as a reader feel, the writer’s intentions and linking to context. Grade 8 is doing all that but embedding context, looking at alternative viewpoints of why a subject term has been used
Thank you so much, this is so helpful!
You're so welcome!
miss you have been an amazing teacher thank you so much. Learning the content itself is one thing - but it's always the exam technique that has gotten to me. You've helped me fix that enormously. Thank you. You're a great help.
You are so welcome!
My mocks are tomorrow, first time I did pretty bad so I hope I can redeem myself this time. Wish me luck
Good luck!
Thank you so much I really appreciate this video it's soo helpful. Would you possibly be able to do some more Jane Eyre videos? Oh and do you have a walkthrough or model answer for the responsibility question? Thank you 😊
I've already done some Jane Eyre videos - search "First Rate Tutors Jane Eyre"
got my grade from a 3 to a 5, now i just gotta keep it up. nice video
You literally went up two grades - that's incredible!
I find it so hard to write a plan in 5 mins 😅
Each section is 45 mins long, sometimes u can do 10 mins planning, 35 mins writing. Just with ur plan, write down key quotes for aic that u remember (those with multiple key themes), structure them into 3/4 paragraphs in ur plan, and then write down some context u want to include
No same
Can you please do contex and quotes and explode the quotes💯🔥
Sorry for being 2 months late but I wanted to ask if alternative interpretations are necessary for getting higher grades and could you explain in a brief reply how to use them.
alternative interpretations are definitely useful for top grades and i would say necessary, to use them you would just start your regular PEEL + "however, others may interpret this to mean [shorter PEEL paragraph]." i would say you should try and use them, if you cant think of another point, just use something extremely base leveled like 'however some others may interpret this as the writer simply stating that the character was angry' rather than something in depth.
@@shahdal-samarrai735 tomorrow I have paper 1 literature. When I get a Shakespeare question and a 19th century novel question. How do I I structure my answer and in how many paragraphs
For Edexcel IGCSE they say 50% of marks are for context. Are students expected to use half of their essay for context?
Could you please make a video on your predictions for the 2023 aqa inspector calls question
That's on my list - I'll do predictions either next month or April 😊
@@FirstRateTutors Ok thank you so much!
Would you write the same layout for the poetry section ?
Slightly different if it's unseen poetry but similar for seen poetry.
My exam is in 2h, I can’t remember anything, I’ve slept 4h and English is not my first language so let’s see how the exam is gonna be 😭
Plzzz can you do one Romeo and Juliet and Jane eyre plzzzzz i love ur videos and they are really helpfulll
hello is there any discount code for your English courses? cheers
Thanks for asking but no - there are no discounts for the English Courses.
Cheers
You're welcome!
would you use the same structure for the edexcel paper?
Yes... ish! I'm releasing some EDEXCEL videos (starting today at 4pm) for EDEXCEL GCSE English students. Today will be on Language Paper 1 but I'll soon do one on the English Literature exam
Came too late to the party. Darn. This is so well made, however, thank you so much and wish me luck...I guess.
Good luck!
Thank you!
How do you get all these quotes + all the others ones you gotta revise n stuff. Like you sit there and you just know like every quote about gerald about this question
I’ve taught it so many times I’ve memorised the play and key quotes for all the characters. Watch my other Inspector Calls videos.. I share quotes to memorise which go with any essay ☺️
@@FirstRateTutors if you could, could you link your best videos about this it would be really helpful
Remember to embed quotes
why do teachers make it look so easyyy like i dot understand it i have my mocks next month on the 12th and its on the inspector calls and poems and im here struggling to revise everything and memorise the key quotes for the poems and inspecter calls 😪😭
Sometimes smaller quotes are easier to remember. So like “millions and millions and millions” “Eva smiths and John smiths” “members of one body” “unsinkable” “a girl of that sort”, short quotes are easier to remember, and they also contain a few themes so it’s easier to use on multiple exam questions
@@Pinkflamingo1458 thank u ❤️
are the aqa papers of inspector calls different from the edexcel papers of inspector calls
Yes fairly different as in EDEXCEL you get one quote that goes with the question and in EDEXCEL you can get two character questions to choose from (rather than one character and one theme in AQA).
@@FirstRateTutors i see thank you so much im not doing AQA but im sure it still helped
@@MaryamAlyafee you're welcome 😃
@@FirstRateTutorswhat about ocr?
Hi is this the same for an edexcel paper?
Yes but watch the EDEXCEL video I made for Inspector Calls - I literally show how to answer the question for the 2021 EDEXCEL exam.
why are ur hand so moisturized
You'd rather look at dry hands?
@@FirstRateTutors yeah icl you have a point plus there's nothing wrong
@@FirstRateTutors yeah sure mate
How do you write so much in 50 mins
Speed writing! It's a muscle... (kind of like exercise or running) - the more you practice, the faster you get. It's possible - but you've got to put in the work 😊
Hi madam. I emailed you. I have been trying to reach you since December 2023 but no one answered. I am interested for Edexcel IGCSE Language B. Do you have Edexcel? Do you have downloadable notes of language and literature of Edexcel?
Hi Nafiz, I'm so sorry! I get so many emails a day.. I think I must have missed your messages. For EDEXCEL IGCSE B... sadly that isn't covered in any of our courses BUT we do have Language & Literature notes you can download here: www.firstratetutors.com/flashcards
Tmmr exam help
ITS TOO MUCH TO WRITE
not me watching this video before the exam 😭😭
GOOD LUCK!
this is an awful response - this doesn't talk about anythign relevant to the actual gcse resposne in which you vividily repeat and remind the person marking your exam that priestley presents the greedy and unjust system which is capitalism as a form to bring change into the youth with socialism
okay
