Vastly underrated coaster. If someone made a list of coaster elements you get for the amount of time you wait in line, this one might be #1 or 2. It's like an inversion for every minute of wait. I'll gladly marathon this one
@TheSmokinLounge Amen, my first ride on it, I walked off with bloody ears from earrings. That and Maverick. Both rides are better now, but man, were they rough in a bad way and a good way. After the changes to Mantis, it's enjoyable and Maverick's move to softer restraints is a godsend. Cody Rhodes of WWE's favorite coaster is Maverick BTW. Have a good one
@@bubbywalleye8624 Oh man, on an unrelated non-coaster note, Logan Paul said that he wants to be like Dominick Mysterio because of the Heel Heat. I'm rooting for Dirty Dom. One thing I love about him is that he's doing a ton of work in NXT to take him to the next level. With the Heel heat he's getting and the work he's putting in, I really see Championship material someday for him. I can see him being a fellow Coaster Fan
This brings so many memories being that I worked on this ride when it was mantis. Will always be Mantis. Made so many fond memories. Best decision I’ve ever made was working at Cedar Point.
I hate to admit it, however, last time that I have been to Cedar Point is back in 1994. Raptor was the new coaster that year, and yes, I did ride it. Cool coaster. I would love to go to CP again. However, I have a really bad back, and I can’t walk long distances or stand on my feet very long. Still, it’s good to see people enjoying themselves. Peace.
I remember the mid 90s when Mantis dominated the front skyline. The standing element wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be. Was a decently smooth ride for an early B&M. Sure the Raptor was better but this was a great complimenting ride while people were walking back towards the front from the Mean Streak. Really lost its line when Millenium came. Now it’s like a 5min wait lol. 1996-2003 was like prime Cedar Point in my opinion.
Idk, I rode it a year before the conversion. I’m like 6’2” and 195, it was hard on my private parts. Really enjoy it as a sit down. Super underrated BM coaster
@Starwarman1 I'm the exact same height and weight and I had the same experience but my cedar point partner is 5'9" and had no problems. One of the very few downsides of being taller lol.
Has a very smooth vertical inversion. Might not be the fastest or the tallest but it is a good coaster for getting used to inversions. Only thing I'd change are the restraints. Head felt like a pinball. Lol.
For this floorless, there’s head banging in the second half after the mid course, but the orange and blue color scheme is its redeeming quality plus the fact that it’s themed to a wolf and I love wolves, so because of that I’ll give it another shot but I won’t go out of my way to do it again.
I personally don’t like Rougarou. I’ll admit, it’s fun up until that weird turnaround. Then the ride is for some reason rough and has a rattle. And those over the shoulder restraints cause head banging. And that corkscrew after the midcourse is absolutely terrible. Every time I get off Rougarou, I have a headache. My recommendation is to tear this ride down completely and build a Mack extreme spinner on that plot of land. That would be an awesome ride to have at CP.
Two reasons: 1) Cars are different, so it's a floorless instead of a stand-up. Different experience 2) Every one of these floorless conversions has a new name because marketing departments love a cheap way to market a "new" attraction You make the call on how much those weigh
"Scary"? As far as height or fear of falling out? Like Valravn's "Stop/Hold/Dive"? No, not so much. The issue here is mostly the 2nd half "Spaghetti Bowl" after the trim brake section. Side to side movements cause your head to bang into the Over-The-Shoulder "Horse Collar" restraints, painful on your ears.
I’d be happy if they got rid of this and Iron Dragon and put something new in its place, such as a Vekoma Flying coaster, an extreme Mack Spinner, etc…
@@essential_listening and that long wait when it’s done that you Have to sit there and wait to get off while holding it in, that was the worst part. Thankfully I made it to the bathroom 😂

I've Ridden It
I rode it yesterday and I am 11
Rode it Before the name change

I’d have to disagree because everytime I rode it, it gave me a splitting headache for like 2 hrs. So that’s why I rank it low
@@bubbywalleye8624 Rougaroo is kinda like Dominick Mysterio in WWE, people either love him or drastically hate him, no middle ground lol
@@ScottyMania313 also a big fan of wwe lol. I guess dominik and rougarou are similar in my rankings

The most underrated coaster of all time

Mantis was amazing
Mantis had too many issues, not a comfortable ride
Rougarou is a genuinely fun ride. Its problem is being at a park where it’s overshadowed by about eight other coasters.
I hate to admit it, however, last time that I have been to Cedar Point is back in 1994. Raptor was the new coaster that year, and yes, I did ride it. Cool coaster. I would love to go to CP again. That first big dip always gets me and I’m even not there.👍😁😎
What's funny is a Rogarou like coaster is the top ride at Most theme parks in the World
Has a very smooth vertical inversion. Might not be the fastest or the tallest but it is a good coaster for getting used to inversions. Only thing I'd change are the restraints. Head felt like a pinball. Lol.
Love that when you're waiting to board you can see where the bolts on the train are marked so they know if any move at all or try to back out.

Rode it 6 times in 2 days and was feeling it a week later.
I might have been a bit dehydrated though, which could be it.
That last twisty bit was a great ending!
Really enjoyed your video!
I went on it for the first time a little bit ago. It’s like the definition of a fun coaster, but nothing too spectacular
The mantis was a ride that gave me a little scare as a kid the standing coaster and that first drop was something else as a little dude.
Im trying to get my 11 yr old son on this .. maybe next visit🎉
Underrated coaster right here! I loved it but apparently a lot of people don’t
I can see why people dont
Basically it's still the mantis layout just the color, name were changed along with the fact that the train us a sit down instead of the ol stand up
Much better as a floorless now than a standup known as Mantis. As a guy, that shiz hurt the gonads.
this ride hurt my head so bad
Same
So all they did as allow you to sit down now and rename it?
Great coaster, felt like I was about to black out twice
W ride man

Where you guys at cedar point today? Or did you film this another day and upload it just now?
The first 3 seconds of the video say it was filmed in June
Last rode this as Mantis, and it wasn’t all that great. I’m curious to ride it now as this.
Different car that's it
Is there a reason why it's no longer called Mantis? I mean, it's literally still the Mantis, but with a name and color change.
Two reasons:
1) Cars are different, so it's a floorless instead of a stand-up. Different experience
2) Every one of these floorless conversions has a new name because marketing departments love a cheap way to market a "new" attraction
You make the call on how much those weigh
I got a concussion on this because of the head banging. My homepark is Great Adventure and I never experienced that on Medusa.
You didn’t get a conconssion from this that’s litterly inpossible, I u think this is rough wait into you get a ride on a 70’s or 80s arrow looper
Is it scary
"Scary"? As far as height or fear of falling out? Like Valravn's "Stop/Hold/Dive"? No, not so much. The issue here is mostly the 2nd half "Spaghetti Bowl" after the trim brake section. Horribly rough replace with a world class coaster
This is almost like medusa
Praise Jesus
Bring back Mantis!!!!!
Heck no
@@diamondjebgold9906the world's first surf coaster conversion? Cmonnnnn
this is mantis, just with a new paint job and new trains
OUCH
