Thanks for reviewing this Presto canner. I'm looking forward to getting moved and settled in KC so that I can get into canning. Your corn looks wonderful.

This canner would be perfect for you! Very easy and doesn’t take up much room like the big bulky canner! Thanks for watching and sharing!😊

Great review! Beautiful corn! I love my Presto Digital PC, have had it since Christmas. The only thing I wasn’t satisfied with canning in it were potatoes. Somehow it seemed they get “hotter” in this than in the regular Presto canner, and twice my potatoes smelled like they were burned. The color was darker and the potatoes were more soft than they usually are when I can them. So that’s probably the only thing I will never can in this digital model again. But it’s wonderful for everything else that I’ve canned. And being that I didn’t have to do huge loads at a time, it makes it more convenient, like if I want to can late in the afternoon/evening. I’m so glad you like it. I’m thinking we’re gonna see some green beans next? 😊

Oh thank you for sharing about the potatoes! I won’t try those in the digital canner. I really appreciate the advice! Have a great weekend!😊❤️

I've never seen a digital canner like this before. It's nice that it regulates the pressure for you. Very convenient!

Hi this looks great is it ok to use screw top lids on the jars please for this canner

I do not recommend the screw top lids for canning. The only lids to use safely for waterbath or pressure canning are the 2 piece rubber ring lid and the metal ring that twist on. I like the Ball and Forjar lids and rings. Hope this helps!

You said 10 lb pressure. Will it do 15 lb pressure?
Does the canning manual tell how many lbs of pressure to use for each food item?
I getting into canning this coming spring so I’m really trying to learn.
    Thanks

Thanks for your questions! I am excited for you! Canning is a great skill to learn.
Here is a link to the Presto Electric Pressure Canner handbook where you can get a good startwww.gopresto.com/uploads/02152_4120_004A_17_QT_Digital_Canner_Eng_Web_Instructions.pdf.
The majority of the foods I pressure can use 10 lbs of pressure. I have never seen a recipe that calls for 15 lbs of pressure. Now I know higher elevations do require a bit higher pressure. You will need to check to see if your area is considered a higher elevation. I live in a very flat area and always use 10 lbs of pressure for vegetables and meats.
I recommend you find a canner in your area and ask to watch them can sometime. Honestly this canner is perfect for beginners. Follow all the steps and you should have no problems.
Read over the manual that I linked to help you understand the basics of canning! Best wishes!😊

Good review. It looks easy and I appreciate a 10 minute video. Most of the time they are 20+ minutes so I haven't watched them.

Thanks! I try to keep them short. I don’t watch long videos either. 😊
