Ms Lippy my daughter has an electric canner and she loves it. I am going to tell her to watch this video for the good ideas you give about the pop up valve Your carrots look wonderful and I plan on making that “Philly cheese sandwich” for us soon. I have cooked pork roast in the freezer. Thanks and God Bless and yes I will be praying for Ms Darlene. Lots of love❤❤

Ms. Lippy, I absolutely love my electric pressure canner! Thank you for sharing❤️. I also love the skillet you were cooking in! Hugs from south Alabama ❤️
Good Morning Ms Libby, wasn’t that the best invention? I’m like you - I love my canner. That skillet was 12 bucks from family dollar, and I’ve been getting it seasoned up. We have so many old time cast iron; but this one is shaped differently and I’ve enjoyed it. Hugs to you my friend ❤️
I am so happy your video came up first when I googled the Presto Electric Pressure Canner. You answered the question I was googling. I pressure canned potatoes a week ago and the pop-up did not pop-up and of course the timer never counted down. I now understand what the issue most likely was! The dololly that holds the seal must have blocked the pop-up as you explained! Thank you!!!
Good Morning Ms Sandra, make sure your lock under the lid isn’t missing? It looks like a L shaped piece of metal. I did a video when Presto sent me a new lid with lock in place for free, so that could be what’s wrong with yours? ❤️

@@MsLippy yes I do remember..that was one reason I got mine. I have two All American’s, they are too heavy for me now too and doesn’t work as good on an my glass electric top. I got mine before the prices doubled, wished I had bought 2 of them lol
Good evening. Had our electric pressure canner running non stop all weekend and we now can't live without it. What a blessing to be able to get work done while we have jars in the canner. Did turnips carrots and black beans this weekend and still was able to get a bunch of work done outside. Thank y'all for introducing us to the electric canner. I have this same Pressure Canner now for couple years. I absolutely love it. I have a smooth top range and just couldn’t control the heat steady etc. I gave up and invested in this Canner… I absolutely love it.
Thanks for this video. I've been debating about purchasing a Presto electric pressure canner as it seems to be safer and higher quality than some other brands out there. Since we live at an altitude right around 6000', pressure canning with the correct pressure setting is essential and Presto seems to have designed this to be more fail-proof than other brands. I'm in my 70's now, but when we were raising our family and had a half-acre garden, I used to take my pressure valve from my pressure canner to our local extension office each summer to have them test it and then tell me exactly the pressure setting on my valve to monitor carefully throughout the entire process. Lots of hassle but important to prevent botulism! I gave up pressure canning years ago but am ready to try it again with this electric version. I really appreciated the tips you gave about using a chopstick to de-bubble the jars plus the careful way you align the spokes on the lid so as to not impede the popup when the lid is locked in place. A bonus was your quick supper you also showed. My husband was watching with me and said he'd like to try that - as would I. QUESTIONS: (1) Do you have a video for cooking your Louisiana pork roast? I'm totally into freezing leftovers as you do! (2) What brand of electric pitcher are you using to pre-heat your water to fill your jars? I like its efficiency, both in heating and pouring, rather than using a pan of hot water from the stove. (3) From what I've read online, it appears that I can pressure quarts or pints or even half pints. HOWEVER, if I want to do a water bath process, I can only use pints or smaller, correct? I'm assuming this is because of the size of the pot which can only hold enough water to cover pints but isn't deep enough to cover quarts for a water bath. THANKS!!!
Good Morning, you are correct, water bath canning qrts is the only thing this canner doesn’t do; but as far as the lid wheel - it’s comes with a lock that keeps the wheel from moving; but mine was missing. I was told by many of our friends after this video, I called Presto and within 3 days I received a new lid with the lock at no charge. Presto has been wonderful to work with. The one I use is the Presto Precise 12 qrt and I truly believe you will love this canner. @@MsLippy Thanks for taking the time to write this reply! I ordered my Presto electric pressure canner last night from Amazon (best price around). I'm looking forward to watching your other videos. Good Morning, oh that supper was so good and so easy to throw together. Many folks said their canner has a notch to keep the wheel from turning, so I’m gonna call Presto and inquire, maybe mine was supposed to have one?❤️
I have had my presto electric (like yours) for a couple years and most of my pressure canning has been done in it. I canned 30 pints of meat in the last 2 weeks. I have had 2 issues of it warming the jars and during that cycle.it switching to water bath and right away if you know that you had it on pressure can remove 1 cup of water and start it over. The first time I had this happen and it took me a while to figure it out and nothing worked until I spent a few minutes thinking about it. The second time I knew exactly what it was. I love my Presto digital electric canner, it is the only electric canner I felt was good enough and passed test the others did not. I have 8 reg mouth pints sitting on the table ready to be labeled put in the pantry, as I find meat on sale I buy extra and can it up.
Good Morning Ms Donna, I took the extended warranty out as well. The only issue was that wheel being set right; but other than that- I’m loving this canner and smaller batches has been much easier on my hands 🌷❤️
@@MsLippy I also took out the warranty, that was too much money spent without adding a little more to safe guard my investment. But the little problem I had was user error.
Good Morning Ms Julie, girl I’m so sorry you’re still down from the crud. They are saying many are down for a couple weeks, I’ll be Praying for full recovery 🙏❤️
I have a T-Fal and my stove went out so I got a new stove and it is exactly like the stove you have a glass top I was afraid to pressure can on it with the tefal I now have the electric presto digital and I love it

Ms Kathleen, sister I’m not sure I mentioned - at the top - you can set the grind size? I’m so glad you love it. I’ve got something very special coming out this weekend, and I’ll be doing a bingo giveaway 🌷❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good afternoon to you. I always enjoy it when you share your small batch canning. Every little bit of harvest makes a difference when added to the pantry. I almost have enough saved up to buy my very own. Thank you for demonstrating to us what a great benefit an electric pressure canner could be in our households. Easy peasy and it frees you up to do other things. God bless. P.S. So funny to hear you say some of things I meant to post before I could finish what I was saying. :)
Robin, girl you’ve got to see today’s video, it’s about sauerkraut and the electric canner. You will enjoy the story when I called Presto, not a design problem, mine was missing a small part to keep the wheel in place, Lordy Bee, lol.. 🌷❤️
Hey Mrs Lippy, I like the canner. One day I will get one, but for now I will use my oven top to get the job done 😂love the dinner too. Have a beautiful day ❤
Great tutorial! Just a thought, but when you are removing the water from the jars, don't dump it down the drain...pour it into a container to water your garden, don't waste water....this is coming from a Southern California girl.
Good Evening, well we have a salt softener for the house plumbing, so I don’t repurpose it to the outside because of the salt content. I would definitely use it and not waste. 🌷❤️
Good Morning Ms Ann, I love my older stove top canner as well; but girl this one I can handle without Buds help lifting that big one. I also love that I can do smaller batches as things come in from the garden and it’s not too much all at one time. Happy Electric Canner Club is what we need to call it? lol. 🌷❤️❤️
Good Morning Ms Shelli, girl it’s wonderful, I can do small batches as the garden comes in and so easy to move around. Many are saying there is a notch in the lid that keeps the wheel from turning, so I’m calling Presto this morning and inquire about that, maybe mine was suppose to have it? 🌷❤️

Good Morning Ms Kellie, that steam canner is great, and it’s like a feather in weight; but I do recommend to calibrate it each year; because Bud said the changing in temps can cause the setting to be off. 🌷❤️
@@MsLippy thank you that’s good advice! I was convinced to get the canner when I watched you use yours a while back. It is so much easier! Thanks for all your videos!
I would love one just don't know how much I would use it I have 2 stove top ones but it sure would be nice not to have to watch steady praying for your friend
Ms Linda, I’ve got a single and double stovetop Presto’s; but I’m able to move this one around without the help from Buddy; because my RA gives me fits with my hands. I also like that I can do small batches when I don’t have a large amount each time. ❤️ Thank You For the Prayers
Ms Lippy that was a great explanation on the use of an electric Canner. It sounds so easy it almost does the work for you. Beautiful Carrots. Mine didn't do well.
Love watching you prepare food. From carrots to Philly steak! But that gave me an idea… I love the presto canner! Bug I have 2 stovetops that work great… snd can’t rationalize getting another. I am gonna get me a pork roast though! 😂
Good Morning Ms Sharon, I have two stove top ones as well; but last spring my RA in my hands really started giving me fits and this canner allows me to move it without Buds help lifting. I’ll cook up a big pork roast and separate into small containers; because it’s my go too for many quick and easy meals. 🌷❤️
The green piece on mine fits over the vent, which stays lower and allows steam to escape. Then the valve starts to rise. I have had mine for 1 year and am now getting an E 20 message. We have not been able to figure out how to fix this issue.
im looking into getting a 17 quart-is that what you have? have you used the water bath feature? how many quarts does that feature hold? thank you so much.
Are there any instructions on how to clean and put it all back together? I cannot find anything and my canner malfunctioned. I put the regulator on and it started venting but it would never reach the canning stage, I had to cancel the whole process. I suspect that I didn't put all the parts in place correctly after cleaning but I cannot find any information on this. Thanks.
Good Morning, first look under the lid/top and make sure you see a L bracket looking thing, that’s the lock that keeps the cross wires in place, mine was missing and they sent me a new lid within two days for free. Also , the jiggler snaps in and make sure it’s pointed to center. I’ll try and do a video explaining as soon as I get a chance with my husband’s recovery 🌷
@@MsLippy Thank you so much. I went on the Presto website and it took me a few hours to determine that I may be missing a piece called the "Interlock Gasket" and ordered a couple more of them. I think if that piece was missing, that may be why the pressure piece kept raising itself too high and tilting sideways, and when I tried to straighten it up (wearing heat resistant gloves of course), it popped out completely. If it's a tiny little white rubber thing, then it doesn't surprise me that it's gone missing and probably went down the drain the last time I washed it. But I couldn't find any videos or anything in the instructions that even mentions that thing. I just found it on the parts page. Hopefully when the order arrives, I'll be able to tell for sure if that is the problem. Meanwhile, the cans did seal correctly before I even removed them from the canner. But to be safe, I put them in the fridge and will process them again next weekend. Thanks so much for your response and best wishes to your husband!
I have potatoes in my electric canner now. I noticed that the steam was not as strong as it has been other times. I'm letting the process finish. Do you think I should have stop the process and checked the lid inside???
Good Morning, no - let it run its course; your less steam could simple be from low water line level? If your pressure lock was up - located by your green lock knob, then it built proper pressure 👍

Have a beautiful day ❤
Good Morning, as long as the job gets done, that’s all that matters for sure my friend. Have A Wonderful Blessed Day My Friend 🌷❤️
Very interesting to see this canner used!!! Blessings to all
Benz, I absolutely love it, and now knowing it was missing a piece inside and Presto is sending me out a new lid. 🌷❤️
Thanks for sharing thinking about buy one of these for my my daughter!!
got this a few months ago.. still love my old pressure canner. you encouraged me to use this..
Good Morning Ms Ann, I love my older stove top canner as well; but girl this one I can handle without Buds help lifting that big one. I also love that I can do smaller batches as things come in from the garden and it’s not too much all at one time. Happy Electric Canner Club is what we need to call it? lol. 🌷❤️❤️
I love my stove top pressure cooker. But I would love a electric one too.
IDONT know anything about this kinda stuff wished idid, I just wanted to say Mrs lippy your so BEAUTIFUL 😍❤️💜 Just saying, Have a wonderful week and thanks for sharing
Good Morning Ms Joyce, girl when you want to dive into this, you’ve got us ladies on here that will sure jump in to help you. I thank you for such a sweet compliment, Have a wonderful Blessed week as well🌷❤️❤️
I love my presto electric canner too. ❤ I'm glad you have one. Now I need a water bath steamer
I got one last September for my birthday and love it.
Ms Jeannie, girl I know your loving it❤️❤️❤️
I would love one just don't know how much I would use it I have 2 stove top ones but it sure would be nice not to have to watch steady praying for your friend
Ms Linda, I’ve got a single and double stovetop Presto’s; but I’m able to move this one around without the help from Buddy; because my RA gives me fits with my hands. I also like that I can do small batches when I don’t have a large amount each time. ❤️ Thank You For the Prayers
Thank you! I am afraid to use my stove top pressure canner-this seems like I could make this happen!
Good Morning, you will love this Presto Electric 👍
I love my Presto canner! Got as a gift last year and I have water bath and pressure canned in it. Looking forward to doing more this year.
Isn’t this the best invention? I love it❤️
Ms Lippy that was a great explanation on the use of an electric Canner. It sounds so easy it almost does the work for you. Beautiful Carrots. Mine didn't do well.
Thank You My Friend, it really has been a blessing to have this canner, and I’m able to move it around without the help from Buddy. ❤️
I love my electric Presto canner....
Good Morning Ms Linda, best invention ❤️
Thank you for the tutorial!
Your so welcome 🌷❤️
Great video lippy and wow you gave Vp food
Good Morning Mr Willie, yes I shared supper with VP, but afterwards- he wasn’t worth nothing, lol lol
Prayers. Thanks for sharing
Your so welcome Ms Kathy❤️
My Presto has a notch that prevents the wire from covering the hole
Good Morning, oh that’s great to have a notch, do you have the same one as I do?
I have a Nesco Electric pressure canner and I love it!!!!!!
Good Morning Ms Gail, remember I was the lady who said - I have no need for an electric canner, Boy I was wrong, lol. ❤️
@@MsLippy yep, you're right! Although I have always been afraid of canning, I do love this electric one!!
I think I have that brand and I haven’t used it yet
Ms Tambra, girl watch today’s video, it’s about sauerkraut and this presto canner, you will get a laugh. 🌷❤️
When your done canning, can you use the same water in the canner and add a little more if needed?
Yes Ma’am you sure can, as long as the water isn’t dirty from maybe a jar that siphoned❤️
I didn’t see you remove the jars? I just bought one, delivery is today!
You will love this canner
Wonderful.
Thank You Ms Charlene❤️
I'm thinking seriously about getting me one of those because I do miss home canned green beans and I'm still scared of using my stove top canner.
Ms Marybeth, remember two years ago I said - I don’t see myself wanting one, and look at me now!! I love this canner, and you will too❤️
Do you can meat in it?@@MsLippy
Yes Ma’am, I can meat in this. This canner is approved by the National Center For Home Food Preservation.
Thank you. @@MsLippy
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❣
Good Morning!!!❤️
hummm may have to check into this canner....question Ms Lippy...do you add vinegar to your water in the canner for clarity on your jars?
Good Morning Ms Patti, sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t; but I’ve not seen a difference with the jars using this canner. 🌷❤️
Thanks good to know 🙂
The green piece on mine fits over the vent, which stays lower and allows steam to escape. Then the valve starts to rise. I have had mine for 1 year and am now getting an E 20 message. We have not been able to figure out how to fix this issue.
Ms Amy, call presto - they are wonderful and extremely helpful
Where did you get the water pot?
Good Morning Ms Diane, I got it off Amazon and I put the information in the description, I did take out the extended warranty 🌷❤️
dang that looks good!!!! (carrots too LOL)
Buddy said - the coleslaw was missing, lol. He is so spoiled
@@MsLippy You didnt share your lays with him?😅
im looking into getting a 17 quart-is that what you have? have you used the water bath feature? how many quarts does that feature hold? thank you so much.
I have the 12 qt presto precise electric canner, it will hold 6 qts, I use pressure and waterbath, perfect results
They corrected the issue with the lid, that piece doesn’t move now.
They sent me out a new lid and all works perfectly 🌷
I have potatoes in my electric canner now. I noticed that the steam was not as strong as it has been other times. I'm letting the process finish. Do you think I should have stop the process and checked the lid inside???
Good Morning, no - let it run its course; your less steam could simple be from low water line level? If your pressure lock was up - located by your green lock knob, then it built proper pressure 👍
@@MsLippy Thanks Miss Libby. I have used this canner about 10 times and all was great till my tatter run. Love your videoes.
I have salt treated water. Will this damage my canner
Good Morning Ms Pamela, we have a salt softener for our well water system, and I’ve had no issues at all. 🌷
The inside top of mine isn't like that. It only has 4 wires.
It maybe a different model; but I’m so happy Presto sent me a new lid with lock in it.
What brand is your canner
Good Morning Ms Jackie, It’s a Presto Precise 12qrt🌷
I have two electric pressure canners that I've had for 2 years and I have yet to use them because I know ZERO about canning. 😩
Good Morning ☀️, well this year we will change that sister!! ❤️
@@MsLippy hallelujah!!! I have a garden full of goodness waiting on me. 🥰
