Partisan tensions reached a boiling point during a House Oversight Committee hearing Thursday night as personal attacks between Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, derailed.
Greene accused Crockett of wearing “fake eyelashes” during a markup to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress.
The comment prompted nearly an hour of disorder in the committee, with lawmakers screaming over one another and hurling insults and personal attacks, leaving Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., struggling to restore order.

The search warrant application was authorized by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and approved by Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, following a criminal referral by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The order, unsealed a few days after the search, showed that the FBI obtained the search warrant as part of an investigation into Trump relating to three federal criminal statutes:
1. violations of the Espionage Act regarding unauthorized retention of national defense information;
2. destroying or concealing records "with the intent to impede obstruct or influence" federal government activity;
3. illegal removal or destruction of federal government records (without respect to cause)
