I started using transitional lenses when was 19. They work amazing although last year the girl at my eye Drs. Kinda messed up & put the blue filter with the transition it didn't even change over to gray when I wanted but now I upgraded to a new frame & I finally got my transition lenses back & I love them.
It does have blue light blocking but definitely NOT 100%. They're great for small devices but for screens for at least 2 hours will still give eye strain.
They don't darken instantly. However you'll notice them changing in a few seconds. And the level of change depends on the amount of sunlight. If your ok with the extra cos they're nice. Just make sure to use the cloth that comes with your glasses or those wet wipes for glasses or you'll damage the coating.
What's the difference between them vs photochromic ones? They're are like 5 different transition glasses are they that different or is it something like a gimmicky?
I’m wondering how fast these change back, I keep seeing videos demoing them darkening, and they get dark way faster than I expected, but I never see anything going the other way. I wish this said what they were too. I’m guessing they transitions gen 8, but maybe they’re older, maybe they’re that exactice or whatever.
My eye dr said that the gen 8 transitions change back in about 2 minutes and the Xtractive transition lenses takes about 5 minutes. That’s back to complete clarity. Although the xtractive always have a slight tint.

You can't add it once you've already got the glasses. You have to get them at the beginning

Those have got to be the least convenient glasses ever made.
How is that not convenient? They seem extremely convenient, you don't have to carry two pairs of glasses or wear contacts.
