He cant play as drug fueled and aggressive as he used to. dave lombardo is not as good as he was but he learned rudiments so he cant rely on technique rather than aggression. Even with that being said Lars is my favorite member of metallica and one of my favorite drummers.

Been at these tour shows in 88 89 and 90 great show when they were still the best band out there and James was one of the best singers out there. Untill that black album happend and the people who always complained about heavy metal being untalented blur of screeching sound started attending thier shows and messed up the entire atmosphere and feel. I still listen to the recording a friend made of the nov 88 Leiden show.

Metallica on the 88 and 89 Damage Justice tour plus Queensryche opening for them on their Operation Mindcrime tour is just epic. Prog metal and Thrash at it's best during the late 80s. Grunge happened not long after this and destroyed most metal acts until a resurgence in 95.

Metallica on the 88 and 89 Damage Justice tour plus Queensryche opening for them on their Operation Mindcrime tour is just epic. Prog metal and Thrash at it's best during the late 80s. Grunge happened not long after this and destroyed most metal acts until a resurgence in 95.
