    A smashing video, you put a lot of hard work into it, well done. But here you have this years thicky. Could you be really kind and help me by sketching out a diagram for me showing the hook up of all these components. 1x 430W Solar panel (for now) 1 X Victron MPPT 100/50 Blue solar. 4 x 305ah LifePo4 cells, 1 x JBD-SP04060 BMS (this puzzles me most because it has 3 B- Connections and 3 C- connections. and finally 1 x 4K/8K Flamezum Pure Sine wave inverter. This assembly is for my back garden tracking system (all Working) which hopefully will supply power for the out house containing a dryer and washing machine and maybe some winter heating for my greenhouse. I know it's a bit much but I'm 74 and terminally Ill and I have to have something to do else you can lay me down. I need to add some 4 way terminal blocks (2) and a fuse holder. maybe you could include these also and perhaps anything I have forgotten. I'm reaching out so your help would be appreciated, Thanks from over the pond.
    George

      Thank you for that great feedback! I tried finding your BMS manual, but to no avail. Would you have a paper copy you can scan for me?

    One more tip, just take the cover off the renogy. It's not good with heat. If you never use the built in battery charger it will last much longer

    you are very optimistic using such big cables to that BMS. Most china BMS, should be used not to the top (so if you have 200A, use 100A) for a 100a a cable of 16mm2 would be sufficient, you have it i guess 35?

  • @j.badinter988
    @j.badinter988 Рік тому +1

    You were correct, I removed my previous comment. I stupidly thought your device was a inverter with a MPPT included, this is why I challenged you cable size, but it is only a charger controller. My apologies.

      Absolutely, here's the link to the JBD BMS documentation, look for the Wiring Diagram section, you'll find every model listed there: jiabaidabms.com/pages/download-files

    Hi. Is it possible to supply the dimensions of the 600A bus bar. Thanks

    • @frugalgunnie
      @frugalgunnie  Рік тому

      Most definitely, the Blue Sea Systems 600A bus bar has a 7" x 2" footprint, and it's approximately 2 1/8" tall from base to top of the studs

    • @sammaimas155

      @frugalgunnie  Рік тому +1

      @@sammaimas155 Ah, that's a bit different isn't it? The bar itself is 1"x 5.5" x 1 3/8" tall at the studs. Does that help?

    Renogy is trash. Maybe it'll last if you keep it cool, very cool, add vans, limit the charger and never let it charge at full capacity and last but definitely not least...take it apart and apply conformal coatings to all the boards, unless you're humidity level never goes above 60% for long periods of time.

    • @frugalgunnie
      @frugalgunnie  Рік тому

      That's a very good tip! Humidity here in the winter is between 20% and 70%, depending on temperatures. Summertime it's between 80 and 100% typically, so I'll be looking into that, thank you!

    • @djkillachris
      @djkillachris Рік тому +1

      Just to expound a little on my renogy stayement. Like so many other brands renogy built a good reputation then got hit with inflation and tje ever increasing costs of doimg busimess in the us which doesnt like amall businesses. The right thing to do was to keep quality and raise prices but the spoiled and and common sense illeterate americans would not buy their products again if they raised prices so like most they outsourced even more of their business and cheapened their products. Once people catch on these types usually just rebrand and move on. So you werent wrong in thinking renogy was ok, because it was. And maybe they still have some food products. But ive seen too many failures and sent too many products back that simply dont pass my quality standards. Id suggest getting a backup inverter. Check out xijia. They have listened and made improvements based on consumer input. Very affordable and solid. UA-cam is full of scammers. Will Prowse is part owner of SOK for example. He reviews those batteries with no mention of his affiliation. Let me know if you are looking for lifepo4 cells. Best to source and build your own. Just have to find real grade A. Take care

      Thank you, that's very useful feedback I can work with, and thanks for the recommendation! This is only my 2nd MPPT system so I consider it a learning experience, and I admittedly have a lot to learn about which brands are good nowadays. I like good detailed feedback like yours, helps point me in the right direction. :)

      I agree with you 100%, not my greatest camera work at all, was trying out a chest so I could work with both hands. I plan on doing another complete end-to-end install of a BMS to make a portable power pack. For that one I plan on rigging up the camera in a proper fixed location closer to the action with lots of lighting. Thanks for your feedback!
