OMG.... Jon Lord is a monster on his Hammond,- Ian Paice is a beast on the drums,- David Coverdale is the mother of rock blues...... Glenn Hughes is not only a great great bass player, but has a voice that can reach God.....and Tommy Bolin is just so fucking awesome, and anything Ritchie Blackmore wasnt..... I love it. Thanks. Great job.
Thanks for this! I despised this lineup back in the day and now that I see it decades later I realize that I was right. This was a hot mess that didn't reimagine the music of Deep Purple, it mutilated it.
I am Japanese. It is a big fan of Deep Purple. I love the vocal style of David Cavadail. "Comin 'home" is not like Deep Purple, but it is a masterpiece, guitar's, Tommy Bolin's play is wonderful! There is a different taste with Blackmore! It is a pity that Tommy Bohlin, young, died. He is definitely a name guitarist! ! I think there are pros and cons, but this song is masterpieces. Dave's vocals are also wonderful! ! Japan also has a band called B'z. B'z vocalist, Koshi Inaba and Takahiro Matsumoto's guitar play is also wonderful! ! All purple is awesome. I love this. This Purple lp is one of my top 5 Purple lp,s. I do not know how my brother in law did this but he either bought the candles or made them .I am not sure but he had the candles from the lp cover and every time we would play the lp and smoke a doobie we would light the candles. They did not last long but we kept playing the lp .

Bolin never tried to be Blackmore which is what I loved about him and remember it was Deep Purple that got him to join the band... I'm not sure if they tried other guitar players or not...
Tommy Bolin was too talented in his own right to simply copy Ritchie. On the other hand, Blackmore is almost irreplaceable. It's a shame Bolin couldn't keep it together and conquer his demons before they conquered him.
