Yesterday I heard for the first time of this Song thanks to my beautiful Russian girlfriend❤️ while I know the music from Deep Purple from the beginning. What a Great song! They almost make this kind of music anymore.
I'll start off by declaring that I'm a Blackmore fan, to me his work in Puple and Raninbow was the best and nothing comes close to the work that he's done. No other quitarist has the feel that he he has - I don't limite this to Deep Purple, I mean quitarists in general, period: Having said that, Steve Morse is extraordinary and his interpretation of this song is absolutely sublime. Unfortunately Morse came into a legendary band which had it's status established, to a large degree, by Blackmore's playing. The fan base was already established and he gets 'hammered' by the Blackmore fans. And I'm one of Blackmmore fans but I can differentiate between the two and appreciate Morse for his fantastic playing. The band was old by the time he came around and is contribution is not really appreciate by a lot of original Deep Purple fans which I think it's wrong. Blackmore is simply on another stratosphere, as he is with the other quitarists. This however does not take anythign away from the sublime work Morse has done with the band.
If you're leaving close the door. I'm not expecting people anymore. Hear me grieving, I'm lying on the floor. Whether I'm drunk or dead I really ain't too sure. I'm a blind man, I'm a blind man and my world is pale. When a blind man cries, Lord, you know there ain't no sadder tale. Had a friend once in a room, Had a good time but it ended much too soon.
