SMH... It's an express route operating through downtown Manhattan. Unless you completely shutdown one roadway (Broadway) in Manhattan for civilian car to create a "bus only" thoroughfare to speed up service to great proportions and establish a "free ride zone" in Manhattan only (pay in the outer boroughs) then maybe you can increase performance. Otherwise, you're stuck in quicksand for ever MTA.
I didn't know people used coins to get on the bus at that time (2020). Especially the express bus. Who's carrying around $6-$7 dollars in quarters nickels & dimes?
I feel like just extending any Subway lines that go east to extend to the City Line or into one or two towns into Nassau County. Otherwise, add more subway lines.
@@ddrdanganvloger2187 Or you could extend bus routes to there that connect to the LIRR or Subway stations I believe MTA Long Island bus used to do that before it was replaced by NICE
@@ddrdanganvloger2187 we shouldn’t Especially since the LIRR and NICE exist to do that job We could bring back coins and extend Express buses into Nassau County It makes the LIRR a Waste of money and generally useless when they already do that and with great efficiency It’s like asking for the 1 To be extended to Yonkers when the BxM4C and BxM3 Go to the same place The 7,A,E,J and Z trains all connect to the LIRR The F you can take a NICE bus to 165th Bus Terminal and change to the F there Basically your asking for all these lines to go to where the LIRR already goes The LIRR even connects to the A,C,L,J and Z trains at East New York and goes on to Atlantic Avenue where it connects to even more trains Generally the LIRR is doing more for Nassau County and Long Island Commuters than the subway would do already with those lines existing
95% of the population that frequently ride the express bus are fine with using OMNY or tap to pay. People can board faster and the bus moves faster. Try waiting for someone to drop $6.75 in coins one by one. It’s annoying as hell! Paying with coins slow the rest of the world down lol. It is 2022! You can tell the folks who pay with coins are infrequent express bus riders! Sorry folks the MTA is never going back to coins!
It’s ridiculous. One their are MTA vending mechanic to add money on card second why you you have to buy new card for a dollar where you don’t have access to a vending mechanic in Staten Island
And the "old" equipment invested in every station ?? That's a huge waste of money, money of the contributors !! . Keep the Metrocard dispatchers. The MTA must invest in better and modern trains, better cleaning services and better modern stations ... not in new fare machines. Cashless= control= communism same to China. 🤦♂️
in 2019 it was not a good idea, in 2023 with OMNY it is a good idea
Nowdays it is with Omny. But coins were always nice in case.
I love Reena Roy😍❤️

MJofLakeland1 Broadway between 14th Street and 59th Street should be permanently shut down to car traffic. Actually, just shut it down to all traffic.
Free ride zone in Manhattan benefits those who live in Manhattan and literally nobody else

Always making it faster and easier for them to get their money and get paid...always still shitty horrible service for us
Faster and easier?
If anything it makes it more difficult for them to get their money

Why
The city is already packed with subway lines
And more subway lines being the issue with subways along with it

At least its better than Winnipeg's failed Peggo card.
1:02 just get on the bus they don't care

Maybe if people sorted out their change before the bus came they wouldn’t of removed it

Ikr just count beforehand and drop the coins. Is by far the most fun way to pay 💰 for a bus fare.

Looks at that odd green bus.
