Billy Gonzales is a great WR coach. It would be a disaster to lose him. A shut out would have been nice but the players that never get in a game deserve to have a chance to be on the field. Kudos to them.
Workman-like performance. I love how Napier brought in the younger players and gave Watson a chance to run the ball for a first down. If Marco's son hadn't smashed it in from the 10 yd line, I think Desmond would have had at least one chance to score on his final game. It just shows how much Coach Napier understands the moment. Tulane showed a strong defense.
I might be in the minority here when I say that the playcalling wasn't the issue in this game, Lagway played bad and made a lot of mistakes. Now some of the situation things where we had to call timeouts is on Billy, but the playcalling was not an issue in this game the QB play was.
I am desperately trying to figure out if Montreal Johnson even played one snap in the Florida gators Gasparilla bowl against Tulane. I don’t believe he was on the field for even one snap can this be confirmed?
Brandon, I kind of laugh. We've been talking about Lagway have a great long game but had trouble with intermediate or throws to the back. Yes he had 2 interceptions and did not pick up on some of the coverages, but how many check downs to backs did he have and how many 10-15 yard completed passes over the middle - all things that you and others have complained about. And this was done on a hamstring not healed yet. Lets be fair with our analysis.
It's a win but it was fugly. The team didn't seem prepared much like they weren't for the first half of the season. A definite regression. I think Florida was lucky Tulane's starting QB wasn't playing because playing like this they might have lost. It's a win but it will be a long off-season.
@@markvanetten314 I agree. The biggest change is in the defense and in this game, they bailed out an anemic offense. That happens to every team sooner or later. What's great is they will have a lot to work on this off-season and considering the youth on the team, they might make a run of it next year.
Best part was it looked like they were having fun in the 2nd half!

Edge coach is what I want new. Love the guy but he hasn’t earned his keep. Even LJ doesn’t look impressive. That guy should be jumping off the tv

But that shows the improvement! A bad game & still win by 25. I think that says a lot about the overall improvement as a team.
