This is what I find most amusing. That women hate video games and hate men playing video games is no shock to me. Learnt that decades ago when I was still a kid lol. But I've been hearing for years from activists about how men "kept women out of video games." Biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Only a handful of women I've known have had ANY interest in video games and it is usually temporary. Literally ONE guy I know married a woman that played WoW for years, but that quickly went out the window once they got married.

I'm a guy who has an ex, who had many MANY red flags. Like getting defensive and secretive with her text messages and always saying its none of my business, but has no problem trying to search through my stuff. To which My response is, "If I cant look at you text, you can't look in my stuff then". She also had a tendency to invalidate any past issues I have faced because "She went through worse things as a child", would get defensive when I tried to talk to her about talking to her exes to which she said, "I can talk to whoever I want", which is true, it is her right to do so. And she would always tell me who I can and cannot talk to and when I am talking to someone she doesn't like, she has a fit. The list goes on.
I wasn't perfect in my relationship either, but the things you said that resonated with me, "Ignoring all red flags only to later blame all men for how it turned out". I was at fault for ignoring all red flags and honestly, it did hurt my trust in others, but I never tried to put the blame on all women. It was my fault for being in that relationship and staying in it for thinking I couldn't do better and keeping someone who was the only female to give me any romantic attention (even if it was fake). And worst part is, everyone tried to tell me and I didn't wanna listen cuz they were the same people who made fun of me for not having a girlfriend and for being a virgin. Sadly, asking a woman to take responsibility for her own actions and inactions is too much to ask for.

I think it's partly due to lack of attention. People get hyper focused on playing a game. You can get focused when watching TV too and there are people who watch too much, but I feel like there is still a sense of people still being in the room with you. I think it's easier to game too much and there are people who let it affect their personal hygiene. Some people also get too angry over a game. Still, the fact that it was rated highly is concerning. Most guys do or have gamed.
This just screams of that old meme “I destroyed all of your cherished possessions and personal belongings, now you can focus solely on ME!”
To any woman out there who decides to read this, if you have this kind of mentality towards your partner or future partner, you’d better get used to spending your life alone, either that or seriously straighten yourself out. Many women like to learn dances, for example, pole dancing itself is a specific hobby that I know is pretty popular both recreationally and as exercise. Many arts and crafts are hobbies women enjoy too, cooking, baking, heck even dressing up or doing makeup are hobbies.

Whenever someone says that "social media was a mistake" I point out how time consuming it was in the past to find out all the red flags that modern women now just advertise to the world before you even meet them. In the "good ol' days" you could have been strung along for weeks or months before discovering that she's going to be a PITA.
Playing video games is the biggest because its a relatively cheap enough hobby that any man can get into. The average game can cost upwards to $50-$70. A woman would look at that game and think that money should have been spent on her makeup or hair salon appointment or on something else that loses its value immediately.
One game can provide hours upon hours of entertainment with replay value. I recently bought The last of us part 2 remastered (PS5). I’ve spent the last two nights absolutely hooked on “No return” mode. An arcade mode that wasn’t included in the original release. This doesn’t even count the 8+ hours of play it takes to beat the story mode. $50 we’ll spent 👍

as a woman i literally love watching people play video games. like if it was weird people like markiplier and pewdiepie would not be as successful as they are today. My ideal is a rainy/snowy night, we eat chick fil a you play video games and i watch while i draw on my ipad. or we play dbd together.

I'm willing to bet most respondents to the survey have zero clue what taxidermy is. Because skinning a dead animal and stuffing it for display is totally less weird than video games that an overwhelmingly number of men play, where it's a bigger industry than movies, tv, and music combined.
It's still a hobby. Some people do taxidermy for fun.
I don't really think it's weird though. A bit niche as opposed to video games or collecting anime figurines, but if it makes the guy happy, then I've got no problem with it.

@@PuchimonExtreme Nope. I cook, and when I was a kid I was taught to snare, skin and butcher rabbits, so I'm not squeamish in that regard. The weird part is having dead animal corpses posed around your house.
@@PuchimonExtreme To me, I think it's a bit of skinning the animal and the thought of putting a dead animal up for display (or on the ground if we're talking about those expensive rugs made from real animal fur).
But it shouldn't matter because I'm sure the meals they eat (hamburgers, steaks, etc.) are made from dead animals so it seems kind of hypocritical on their end: They're used to eating dead meat but god forbid taxidermy.

Plus some people commission taxidermists to make statues of their deceased pets. Sure, it's morbid but whatever helps them grieve I guess.

That was until he had an accident involving the dado blade. At that point, his wife got rid of his cabinet-building kit. After that, Grandpa literally had nothing to live for except for his job. This would explain why he didn't retire until he was forced to in his 80s, by the closure of his place of employment. Afterwards, because he had no hobby, he succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease just a few years later.

I am from the Midwest. It’s way more common here than people from the city think. Some people like doing it, others just want the deer they hunted up on the wall.

Yeah, I game. After a long day at work, I do wanna sit down and relax, and video games are one way I choose to do that. I also read, write, watch anime, collect and play trading cards, listen to music, go on late night strolls (sometimes through a nearby cemetery), and have recently taken up learning to draw with the eventual goal of drawing manga. Don't give one iota what anyone else thinks, cause I do my hobbies for myself, and for my own enjoyment. Cause, newsflash: That's what hobbies are for.
Not gonna stop doing what I enjoy, no matter who finds it "cringe" or "unattractive".

Also the number of male virgins vs. female virgins (the latter is harder to know, as media love to bash only men). I play card games, collect manga, play video games, build anime girl and robot models and collect toys.

My Fiancée has hobbies that I do not. The caveat is after a while of her sharing her hobby or interests, I usually end up liking them myself. Art well... I don't have the skills to do it myself if I don't take a day or two of starting at it while I draw. It just feels a lot easier for me to be photo realistic. Not that I don't do my own form of art in my garage with minor blacksmithing, pen turning, and general wood work. Not that she's likely to do them herself, but that is fine, she is able to paint things like models.

The woman I’m talking to (we just met recently) is also a gamer. She games on Nintendo switch, me PS5. She knows I enjoy survival horror. She scares easy and doesn’t like horror movies yet she’s agreed to step out of her comfort zone and go see Smile 2 with me when it comes out. She said “just be aware you’re only going to have one free arm for the whole movie because I’m going to be holding onto to you”. If a woman is truly into you she will step into your frame guys. This list goes right out the window if she finds you attractive enough.
