Someone said here that Interpol´s Turn On The Bright Lights saved his life, my life changed radically when found Interpol. The band has a great power and I love Untitled
I understand why this song is "Untitled" - it's too utterly perfect to have something so distracting as a title. It would be titled "perfection" but that would be egocentric and thus less than perfection.
@Pites i disagree while Antics is not TOTBL it is still a really great album... people tend to forget that TOTBL is probably one of the best indie albums ever if not the best of the 2000 - 2009 decade.... Antics was a really good follorw up
The fact that it's such a perfect rendition of the recording just shows the excellence of this band. It's meant ot be played one way, the ruight way and they just do it the right way.
Pretty sure this is NOT 2003! Daniel stopped playing the Rickenbacker in 2001 before Bright Lights was released. If you reference La Route Du Rock from August 2001 (TOTBL was released Aug 2002) he is playing the Epiphone and Gibson Casino 335. I venture to say this is probably Feb 2001.
they didn't replicate themselves, could you imagine a band with the same sound and appearance? a good band never get the same sound in each song, the other albums were a masterpiece, it's just matter of time to fall in love with them.
yea but interpol couldnt stay a secret forever, theyre too special to an exclusive band for only i certain amount of fans they were bound to explode in mainstream, theyre just too talented

I moved next to this bar a year ago from LA and can’t believe my favorite band of all time played here. Sucks they would never play a small venue like this again. Favorite song too
If you just moved , I’m assuming you’re talking about the new Emos? I think on riverside? Emos used to be on the corner of Red River and 6th. Then they moved to that bigger location some years back. This show is from the old Emos.
@@StevenYbarra yes the new emos. You know any bar in town that plays music like Interpol/the strokes/crystal castles etc etc. Back in LA I do. They are even gonna have their yearly Interpol night in June
@@afewgoodmen228 I don’t live in Austin and I don’t frequent it as much as I used to but I always thought any bar in Austin plays what you mentioned. From what I recall last time I was there, east 7th and 6th are generally the best places to go for alternative music
wrong, interpol seems earnest with their art, they dont come off unctuous for a second. you mistake a fervent belief in art, which emanates from their music, with pretentious insipidity. i think u might just be a bit of a cynic whose been detered by on that mtv shit, and u can't believe there is actually a band out there who lives for their art instead of living for the success of their art. interpol lives for their art, it seems to me
Wrong doesn't seem to be the correct word, unless putting out two solid CDS, making a ton of money, and getting booked at Madison Square Garden is your definition of wrong....
Turn on the Bright Lights is absolutely mind-blowing. Antics was below average, by any standard. Our Love to Admire has a few good songs, but as a whole, not even close to Bright Lights.
Antics isn't that great, but Our Love to Admire has its moments. I hate that the band themselves seems to believe Turn on the Bright Lights is an after thought of their careers.

Antics could’ve been another masterpiece but I feel the production on the album is what makes seem not as good, alone it’s a very good and solid album but it doesn’t compare to TOTBL, when you listen the demos of songs that ended up on antics they could easily fit on TOTBL.

Madison Theater, Covington, Kentucky was similar and the energy was fire...this song transcends time.
