I freaked out when a BMW staff member showed me this on my new 330i, parking between two customers' cars. I think I have to go back there and practice a few scenarios with him. An an experienced driver, it's going to take me a while to trust this!
great for you to park in a very tight space. Problem is the cars in front of you and behind don;t have this feature. They will curse you for putting them in tight position and THEY will most proabbaly ding your car when they try and get out?
Didn't leave equal space front and back... Not how it started. If someone parks close in front, it'd be difficult to get out of the space. Simple to fix, but failed to
Parallel parking is so easy and intuitive. I just don't see the point of this kind of thing, maybe only for people who don't have proper driving training.
Oh that's how my neighbour was getting into such small gaps and blocking me in :-)
Thanks, never knew how it worked and now it does.

I am waiting to try this on my X3 - good vid
Good explanation as we currently don't use our 3-series park assist, but we will now. Mercedes system is so much better and easier to use.
Wonderful tech, I just wonder how many people who have this actually use it as a everyday fuction
Ha,I've got x5,never used it either

All very and good, a great help no doubt.
After it was parked, the car behind is not able to get out.
Ha Ha I thought just that ? no wonder us BMW drivers have such a bad name LOL
Do you need to have the indicator on to find the space? Does it help the car to determine which side the space is on?
Yes you do
I got parking assistant as standard but never used!
WHO CAN'T PARK BY SELF DONT DRIVE!
You fuckin said it 👏
I have this feature on my 216d. I haven't tested it yet. I'll do it as soon as possible.
Does it assist only parallel parking? How about reverse parking?
There was a lot of 'dry spinning' of the wheel in that procedure which is not good for the tyres.
How would that work for a manual instead of automatic?

The park assist gets you out of the space too I think double pressing etc.

Not just that though it can be hard to see out of modern vehicles especially over the front with busy traffic.
You wouldn't want to park in that spot by yourself? Have you ever lived in a city before? The spot is gigantic
Huh, that spot is tiny 2:59
