it's not technically considered a slam if the body stays connected the whole time. and if you don't jump in the air while you do it. I guess technically it's just "landing hard" not "slamming"
Why didn't they show the matches? We see a slam that would be disqualification under IBJJF rules.

@@blandz I'm with you Ian. I also now identify myself as a belt. When I first told everyone I was transitioning they were not supportive at ALL. But my family has accepted it for the most part. just not my grandparents...still stuck in their old ways of "People can't be belts".

Ref gave points after the slam - Seems like slams are allowed in whatever competition he was fighting at
Generally it's only a slam if your feet come off the ground or raise them even higher than you're holding them before dropping them. Normal wrestling/judo takedowns aren't slams.
@@mike8984ify i agree. I have seen some really legitimate foot sweeps dq in bjj because the opponent flew down to the mat too hard. But thats just an overzealous double leg.
That was a straight up slam. Plus it looks like a in house tournament for gracie barra. He would get disqualified in ibjjf for that.
