Amazing! It's a pleasure and an honor seeing such gifted musicians!!! Down side is seeing something like this makes me wonder why I bother and has me thinking that I should really sell off my gear... I won't though...
Fantastic playing, guys!
Could be wrong but it seems the Jazz influenced playing in Country is not as prevalent these days. I'd sure love to hear this kind of stuff in Country again kinda like a Hank Thompson tune or some of Willie's recordings might've had. I enjoyed listening to this soooo much. Thanks for keeping it real, pickers!
Excellent!
Well,I'm not a jazz guy but that is some great picking.. love the harmonizing guitars..! Pex
Great job guys
Y’all give that bass and drums some love
Been a fan of Redd for many years but holy heck Mathew Lee!
I’m gonna need to change my underwear now. 😍
This has got to be some of the best twang I have heard and seen . Twang if it ain't great !
Thanks it was fun doing this tune
So glad you showed up at my virtual door!
Glad you like it
Excellent 😂🎉❤
Holy crap? Why doesn't this have a million views yet?
Let’s make that happen !! Ha
I’ll offer a potentially controversial opinion.
First, let’s all agree the problem's NOT the music: I’m quite sure Jimmy and Speedy (peace be upon them) would have at least 4 thumbs way up!
The trouble here is the nauseating camera work - that’s meant not as an insult, but as an objective, *literal* observation. Nothing wrong with a bit of judicious smooth panning now and then - but unrelenting jumping around, seemingly for its own sake (a misguided attempt to create visual interest?) leaves viewers queasy and renders this video unwatchable - a special shame, since both guitarists tear it up! 🤢
I don’t mean to pick on the cameraperson - but please, in the future, use stabilization. (Static shots aren’t evil, either.) Just say no to the "shakycam" trend that started with ’90s TV cop shows and legal dramas. It was a mistake from the get-go and needs to go away. Thanks for your time.
@@SirMikeyD I’m just the guy that wrote the song and performed it
I’m not responsible for the camera or edits
Trust me I’ve learned from the camera work
Wow, the man himself! (It’s an honor, sir.)
But to cut the camera crew some slack: what if some kid - hoping to break into the biz, and feeling the pressure of the assignment as two god-tier pickers shredded the musical side of things (if Iʼd heard this was a lost Jimmy Bryant track, I mightʼve believed it) - tried a bit too hard to capture the musical excitement? Hey, it happens.
All we can do is to keep on learning and growing. Meanwhile, thank you for this excellent song.
P.S. to the cam op: B-roll can be your friend, too.
Dang that was fantastic! Two Tele titans right there! Congrats Matthew, glad you had the legend with you!
YAY!! Fantastic swingin’ tune. Amazing guitar work and world class rhythm by 2 of my favorites in the business! Walt and Dennis, laying it down!!

I think I need a publicist, getting well known ain’t easy
I’m a convert Matt . Your playing is sensational. I’m spreading the word here in Australia. Cheers
Amazing crystal clear sound! Best my laptop has ever sounded - we miss you from Austin Redd, grateful for all those Saturday afternoons - Thanks

Just amazing how the music is so good you almost don't notice the ridiculous technique going on here. I've known about & loved Redd's sonic adventures for a while. But man Matthew. Your fluid lines just had me jumping outta my seat. Loved the tones. Great video.

Awesome piece, I tuned in because I watch all things Redd, found another great player, great job Matt!
Thanks ! It was a privilege to have Redd play on this tune
Your tone and style reminds me a lot of Jimmy Bryant! Lovely!
I take that as a huge compliment
Thank you ! Love Jimmy. When I wrote this I thought of all the cool Jimmy and Speedy duos and tried to capture that in this tune .
@@MatthewAlanLeeMusic You absolutely should! I’ve not heard anyone get the tone so right, and the tune is great too
Awesome!
Outstanding! Love it!
Y'all are so Texas, you squeal.😄 By the second bar I was in a big dance hall with a waxed hardwood floor, askin' a pretty girl to dance. Really nice two-steppin' music. Thanks for sharing it.🤠
That swings! nice job, congratulations to you both! The world need more music like this (at least, my world)😊😀
Sheeeeiiiiiit, the barns on fire!
I get so much inspiration from your playing Matthew!

Fantastic fun!
WOW!!

Ok leave the camera still !! Sweet jam 😊
Wait a minute, how has this taken one year to get into my UA-cam feed? I have admired you on TrueFire but this is absolutely amazing. immediately subbed. really glad to find out that you have a UA-cam channel and I can look at the other videos you have.
By the way,why is it that you don’t have a Fender signature model yet?
Thanks ! I have a patreon which is where all my new lessons are

This sounds great - well done 🙂🎸👍🎶
They're good at playing the guitar.
Toe-tappin'!
Fantastic. Many thanks.
Many thanks!
Is that Redd Volkhaert playing his Nachocaster or is that a real Blackguard? Sounds amazing, both of you btw. Many thanks.
Shout out to my buddy, Walter Hartman on the drums
Great stuff!
Brilliant! Is that colour Caribbean Mist by any chance?
It’s a 2017 American color but I forgot the exact name
Thats really great picking.
Glad you liked it !
Hearing some jimmy bryant in a few of those licks.
This tune reminds me of a CD I bought last century, _Travis County Pickin'_ produced by one Jim Stringer. A fabulous CD, and well worth looking up. I can't see it on UA-cam, but one of the featured players (Casper Rawls) is on a video with Redd: ua-cam.com/video/quVKDwSxwQc/v-deo.html.
Love this and will transcribe these solos. Big fan of Redd and Matthew, loving your playing. Im following the changes but get lost in the bridge, anyone know the chords?
So good!! Any chance that a tab will be available for this at some point?
I’m gonna do several lessons on what I did on my truefire.com channel
It might just be a course
Almost Django
Excellent playing! Got a gear question for you, I'm pretty sure I recognize the Ron Ellis Killa Neck pickup (the Jedd Hughes inspired model), and it sounds amazing (with your tasteful playing) but what did you put in the bridge position? And is that an alder body? Again, just tasteful playing by you both. And like someone else wrote here, "I tuned because I watch all things Redd" but very happy to have discovered your playing as a result. Curious to hear what you got in the bridge as I bet it sounds just as good as the neck PU. Thanks for any info
Thanks for checking the tune out ! My tele pickups are a set of TV Jones Starwood series . Big magnets and tone . I particularly like the neck pickup which I highlight on this tune . Thanks
And, no synthesizers were injured during the making of this video. 😅
None , not a single one
michael j. fox the cameraman?
Great tune Great playing
But can the camera guy send still for more than 5 seconds.
Video work is taking away from the song.
