MACKEREL FISHING in Göteborg - Stora Amundön

- Join me on a mackerel fishing session in Gothenburg (Göteborg), Sweden, at Stora Amundön island. It was a late June evening, and I was out on cliffs for mackerel fishing! Here I show how to catch mackerel using a short Sabiki rig and lure (pirk) from the rocky shoreline. I was casting my line into the murky wavy water and getting anticipation built with every single cast. It didn’t take long as I got a bite and reeled in the first mackerel. Soon I caught two more mackerel on one line thanks to the Sabiki rig.
I was using a technique of making 5-7 reels followed by a spin stop for 1-2 seconds, letting the lure and hooks sink down a bit. This approach worked well. I also hooked a float that was snagged from another angler. Awesome evening session and good continuation of mackerel fishing season 2023.
My gear:
- Rod: 10-foot Caperlan Ilicium-500, 20-60 g.
- Reel: Daiwa 20 Laguna LT 4000-C.
- braided main line with a diameter of 0.18 mm.
Lures/flies:
- Armada EyePilk 28 gram Flash Silver
- Sabiki rig Seamer with 3 hooks #2.

@@nordic.fishing for lures I use a jig called the pigster tail 12cm in the color motor juice with a 10-15 gram jig head depending on the depth. they usually stand pretty deep and close to cliffs and drop-off’s hope you catch some cod :)

Har fiskat där många gånger några år tb.. bara snuskgubbar,gamlingar och tjockisar 😂
Men inget makrill.. fiskade idag och resultatet = 0
Min känsla är att makrill kommer hit nära Gbg i juni, sen simmar hellre antingen norrut, säg till Lysekil, eller söderut, som Helsingborg.
Vanligtvis har jag dåligt makrillfiske från och med mitten av juli runt Gbg
