Esstac 5.56 Triple Mid Daeodon Front Panel: GSK Review

  • While most people are quick to buy the Micro Fight Mk4 or the D3CRM, esstac is making a simple yet effective placard for mags. While this review covers the 5.56 version, they also make a 7.62 version (triple) and a sub gun one as well (quintuple 5 mag). The retention and all is as good as their previous renditions, but panels are quick to swap out between calibers. While their older pouches worked great on belts and the fixed flap carriers, these are designed specifically for the Velcro front paradigm brought about from the JPC 2.0.

    Sir, that was a quality review, thank you for sharing! Will be switching my front panel to one of these, seems like a much better retention and looks neat!

    Anyone have the TRMP, and can compare to the Esstac? The TRMP looks cool but their Thorax carrier looks outdated and lackluster. So just wondering, thanks

    Will the clips on this fit on the spiritus systems LV119?

      Should work with just about any plate carrier, tbh.

    Stu actually made the mid-length kywi specifically for belt mounting to let it sit a little bit lower than the short.

      Hey, that actually makes a lot of sense. I've been running a mid on my belt for years, but everyone I've ever meet has been running the shorts. I thought I was being clever doing so, but I guess it just works better for staying clear of the cummerbund of plate carriers.

    Where can I find magazine pouches for 30 round magazine pouches for AR-308? And where can I find magazine pouches for 30 round magazine pouches for Thomson 45ACP?

    Late to the party here and you likely already have a new carrier but you can lower the buckles.

    So I’m trying to decide on either the mid length or the full for my velocity systems carrier. It would be with the swiftclips of course. But I’m afraid the midlength overall sits higher… is that true? Idk which one to get.. help?

      Yeah, the medium would deff sit a bit high in most cases. Might need to find some kind of clip modification to help them sit a bit lower. The full length would probably sit best, but it's gonna have a solid bit of retention.

    Have you seen a way to have an admin pouch on the SPC since they do not have one built in ?

      I know that the tactical tailor pouch is quite large, although they do have a velcro backed one that can easily be removed when needed. I think the best bet would be a smaller one, like what Milspec Monkey puts out.

    Your thought on how we can get the Deaodon panel pouch to fit lower on the vest?

    • @TheGoodSirKnight
      @TheGoodSirKnight  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks. I haven't found a way to get it lower, but I'd imagine a short, single piece clip would do the job. The easiest solution so far was simply to move the PTT up higher and out of the way.

      Some nylon strap and a sewing kit from amazon will do the trick!

    My sr - 15 takes an ungodly amount of force to seat a full mag on a closed bolt. Enough force that to make it seat you have to slam the mag in the ground in the rifle (bad idea) or rotate the rifle and get it in a BJJ hold and force it in.
    Lancer , pmag, metal colts it doesn’t matter. I always thought that is what John meant not that he was trying to be “cool”

      I think it's definitely an older belief, because my father said the same thing back when he was enlisted in the 80s, as well as 29 round mags in mp5 allowing the mag to be inserted easier as well. Advancements in manufacturing tech seem to have most resolved this issue for the AR platform.
      Of course, not every weapon is the same and some may benefit from loading only 29. It does take out a lot of the worry of things going wrong, and if you already know your weapon doesn't like a full 30, then it makes a lot of sense to stick to 29.

    My one concern right now is running those mags so high with my juggernaut phone armor mount

      It's a Crye SPC. Cummerbund provides a good deal of support to make it far more comfortable.

    Did you order that with the 2" belt loops?

    • @TheGoodSirKnight
      @TheGoodSirKnight  4 роки тому

      Yeah, but I generally use the WTFix straps to mount direct to the belt.
