That's so disappointing. Im not great at taking tests..when i arrive at the at the academy do i get housed or do I have to live in motels on my own dime? Thanks for the content. Vince
I took the academy in sjrcc when I was 19(2007) graduated hired by saint John's county jail straight after. Loved my jail. Got fired after year n a quarter. Been with ICE. It's alright
Had my interview a few days ago I should get a call tomorrow and if I get a call I’ll get to meet the warden since he has final say but they are doing the academy I’m the prison due to COVID and I’m kinda nervous
Good evening, Quick question I notice there’s a website that sells Florida correctional officer uniforms. I notice polo shirts and more confortable. Are Florida corrections allow polo shirts as dress code? Thanks
Here in Cali you go through the tests. I’m up to the Psyche portion. Then Medical. Then I wait for the Academy. They don’t send us to any training in a jail or prison.
Their gonna be that hard on a corrections test at the academy when’s there’s already a turn over rate with low pay? Lol that doesn’t make one bit of sense to be that hard when they can’t even keep people on board.
I think standards should def change or pay for majority of officers but a very large reason that retention for corrections is so low is due to people laterally transferring to either other corrections facilities or a patrol department
Hi Brad. Could it be a problem if I wear glasses especially during the training period and be the serious challenge for becoming CO or disqualification)
As Brad already responded, you will be fine. I have been in Florida DOC for 14 years now, and I have worn glasses since I was 25 years old. You have zero to worry about or even think about with glasses.
i'm doing it in florida too and the seargent downplayed the academy and she said it's gotten easier to get more people to pass i hope so cuz i haven't prepared myself lol i've been working out more though but still working on it
It use to be that way but now you go through the academy first. It’s an open enrollment process so you will be added to current classes and start where they are at and finish after them.
@@bnichole2011 I was told recently by the recruiter at the institution I applied to that we will be working the floor first and then start the academy when a class opens up. They also host the academy at the institution

Damn fail twice and your done that sucks.. someone failing twice doesnt subject to being a bad officer. For all they know that could have been the guy that stuck it out with the low pay. But they let a guy who has passed every test in an he doesnt even stick with it for a year.. nice video man!!!
Enjoy The Academy while you can. Those test are designed for you not to fail.
Everyone passed the final exam in class(before fdle exam) but one. Glad it wasn't me. Was humiliating on the lady who failed
In Arkansas DOC academy right now. We interview first and immediately go through academy
Lol I remember when I was in the academy you took a final test a hour before graduation it was intense
did you get paid whilst being in the academy ?
Here in TN is 4 to 8 weeks of training depending on the department
I’m not the best at test. Mabe DOC isn’t for me then
I live in California. Will I go to another state? Can i bring my dog?
Does the academy have top recruit or top of the class. Just wondering if they rank you by your progress of learning and PT
I can't wait till become a jail guard since I flunked the police psych exam. When can i carry a rod and make arrests? Can I bust heads?
Sick bro post more

@@bradscrazylife4269 do even get paid while in academy ?
@@meatpatti6936 yes
I hope Texas isn’t this way, I probably won’t make it. I’m not really good at taking tests 🙁
Me also.thats so short sighted. I will make a good officer just by learning on the job.

Your so right. I might get aids infected poop thrown on me or attacked by a crazy inmate for only 22 bucks an hour? That's so disappointing.

I am going back in cause I failed out of first aid the first time. It is tough you need to prepare.
I went thru the academy back in 2006. I agree that it's gotten much easier.
How to pass the cjbat test for corrections ?
Hello, is the academy 6am -5pm M-F?
Yeah with 1hr break
is ti still 6 to 5pm?
I have no clue, that was 8 years ago
