The thing is no one wanted a repeat of Haiti. Even in north most voters did not want to enfranchise blacks. End slavery yes but not full equality. Some wanted to deport them after but not pragmatic. Lincoln in his life time even had a mix legacy in north because many saw it as a “rich man” war. The factory workers in New England ain’t any more open minded then southerners just different bias
Good point or not, his speech rapidly escalated tensions at the worst moment and made the South look more justified in their secessions. Making the war more about abolition from day one may have helped isolate the confederate government from foreign aid but that's only one benefit in a bunch of negatives.

Conquering China would be nigh-impossible during that era. Spain would need to invade from the South, which would be an utterly logistical nightmare compared to the North. China is far more centralized and united compared to India and Southern China historically has been much more united compared to the North. It also makes a interesting scenario since the time that Spain would invade would have Admiral Yi-Sun Shin still alive and due to Joseon's relations with Ming China, the naval battles may become just as much a nightmare for spain as well.
It was an economic weight for the Southern states and John Brown's way of trying to end slavery was quite radical at the time. Looking at history through modern lenses can be flawed in many ways. This is one of them.
