Instead of hitting the hub off you can instert the 4 bolts on a few threads atleats 3 or 4. Doing the driver side - with the truck off turn the steering wheel to the right. Cut a piece of 2x2 or put an extention on the socket for the bolt to go from the bolt to that indented part on the frame. Then turn the wheel to the left and it will press out the hub with barely any effort at all, less than with the wheel on the ground trying to turn the wheel with it off. I personally believe when people do ball joints and bang on the hubs that it destroys the bearings somehow, not sure how but maybe rattles dirt or metal in there or.kicks shavings or metal dust off the hub wall into the bearings although its a uni, or something bc every hub video I have seen, the guys always say , " this should come off easy this time bc I just did the ball joints." I mean every video. Not sure why or how but I really stood out to me. Anyway the press method works great.
if you have an old rotor or replacing the rotor bolt the rotor back on and hit that , more leverage ,or if the rotor is stuck on leave it and go for it
Dude iv been at it for 24 hours just trying to get the axle nut off. Used air and electric impacts, long breaker bars with jacks. Torch and pb blaster. Wont budge
@@KendorFarms myself, and two of my corn fed neighbors, who are quite big guys cannot get this thing loose. It’s just crazy that when we put the jack underneath the long bar it’ll almost pick up the front end of the truck off the jackstands before the nut will break loose. The nuts on so tight it’s almost picking up a second GEN dodge Cummins its insane
Do these axle bearings need to be greased? Had the bearings on one axle completely burn up and fall out. Just wondering what maintenance they need. Thanks for the well done video!
I've always used 1/2 inch and been successful. Its shouldn't be that bad to come loose. If it is, give it some lube or even heat fron a propane torch will help
I believe I used rockauto, they were definitely the best price, but shipping can be expensive. Still ended up cheaper then buying local if you have time to wait for delivery
@@KendorFarms thank you very much. I will look into them. I’m curious to know if it can fit the 2020 models. I’m assuming so as long as it’s a 8 lug correct?
Amazon isn’t quite there yet with the automotive side, but if you look up the part on RockAuto, it’ll give you many different prices/manufactures and maybe you can cross reference the part numbers with the ones on Amazon
I love how the bolts just came right out, no broken bolts, no nuthin... wish it were that easy.
It's probably from being in and out frequently u fortunately

Great stuff. Thanks for the information
Very simple and informative, thank you brother.
Thank you very good directions

Good video. Would this work on a 21? Couldn’t tell what year you have?
Thanks
Yep, should be the same. Thus was an '11
Another video said it is a 34mm axle socket??!
There is NO WAY that hub came off that easy 😳
Hahaha it seems to come off pretty frequently
@@KendorFarms 👀👀 that is awesome🙌🙌🙌

Wow! Sounds like a real bugger!
@@KendorFarms it’s something…. If nothing else works, I might just have to cut the nut off and go buy a new one. Hopefully I don’t bugger the threads
Can't believe it's that tight! Even using heat

They should all be a sealed unit and basically maintenance free until they fail unfortunately
Do you think I can get hub nut off with a 1/2 inch drive or do I need to buy 3/4 inch ratchet, socket & breaker bar?

What hub assembly did you go with?
@@roberthutcheson3674 I think it was moon but can’t remember
Sorry, Moog
I have a 2020 ram 2500 that needs hub&bearing replacement. Where did you purchase this part from?

@@ATeamAdventures You’re just changing out the wheel bearing and buying another one?
@@KendorFarms yes that’s correct. But when I search on Amazon etc it shows that some parts are not compatible even though it shows 8 lugs.

Wicked man thanks, looks ezpz
Does it need an alignment after this?
Nope, you should be ok
No. Wouldn't be a bad idea to get it checked every 2 oil changes tho
What was it torque at?
The axle nut?
What year is this?
2011
Did you say 258ftlbs? 😮
Yep
the 4 bolts for wheel bearing bolts is 18 mm not 17
Some could be
