    Man, finally! You deserve it, you were very patient. I see you dealt with Rick as well. He’s a really nice guy. He sold us ours and we’ve been dealing with him since ‘03. Poor Brielle. I felt the same way when the ‘2230 left us. Tractors are memorable machines because of how long they last. Just gotta remind yourself that the new one will bring you even more memories. Can’t wait to see more on it, especially on removing the loader with the cab on it. I would love to see that process. Looking forward to whatever you have next for us. Take care.

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  6 років тому

      Rick worked very well with me. I think the tears have stopped now with Brielle. She is accepting the new machine. We will have it for a long time. Hoping to line up enough work for it so it will pay for itself in a few years. Many many more videos to come. Lots of interest by many. Thanks for watching and keep on tractoring.
      God bless

    Remember to push back the grill guard when you close the hood! The fel will eat it if you forget. If standing on the left side, push down on the hood at the dash and the hood release will work easy, for when you check the oil.

      it made me a bit emotional myself seeing her like that. I get attached to people and things and the way things are and I don't deal with change very well myself. people like that generally have a compassionate heart for others she has a special soul and the so does the other one as she felt compassion for her sister's struggle dealing with the change. you have a very special family truly blessed!

I think she realizes the benefits of having a tractor and genuinely felt sorry for me on those cold winter evenings that I'd be plowing snow all night long. No more icicles on my eyelids. And yes I think we could fit two, maybe when Brielle gets old enough to drive by herself and we can having dueling tractors. I also think the cab will make it a little top heavy so I'll have to see how that goes. Keep on tractoring Curt!!

      Believe it or not I use a simple GoPro session hero 4. The camera is literally the size of a golf ball and it’s waterproof. Sometimes I’ll make some enhancements in iMovie if needed. A lot of people use much nicer cameras than me but I’ve been very happy with the GoPro session.

    I have been unable to find any comments from you on this topic so here it is. I'm wondering why you choose those tires vs turf tires. You seem to spend a fair bit of time on grass. If you have an opinion I'd like to hear it. Ever considered having both?

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  6 років тому

      You're right, most of my time on the tractor is on grass. It would probably be best if I used turf tires year round as they even perform better in winter conditions but I don't have any issues with the R4's. The real honest reason I have R4's is simply this. They typically last a bit longer, they actually do just fine on grass and they look better on the tractor. I do have some property in a wooded area that the R4's will eventually come in very handy and yes I've given a lot of consideration to having both sets. I'm still not sure how the added weight of the cab frame will effect the grass. Time will tell.
      Thanks for watching and God bless.

I am just shocked this guy didn't go from the 25D to a larger model, lateral move here for some minor creature comforts like adjustable steering and a few others.

    Ok now i get it a snow cab.. definitely nice feature,,, my only question is why did you go smaller from a BX25 to a BX23s ,,, now I’m a John Deere guy so don’t know much about Kubota but that is a difference of 2 HP isn’t it ? And what does the “S” stand for in the BX23s ?

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  5 років тому

      I was going to reply to your first post but I figured you’d catch on. The BX23S replaced the BX25. Same engine, the BX25 still only had 23 horse power. Confusing marketing in my opinion, but that’s how it works.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 2 роки тому

      I believe the S stands for Sub-Frame. Meaning its the backhoe model. Otherwise, same thing as the BX25, just a newer(ish) model, a few minor updates but engine/HP are the same on the BX25 and BX23S.

    • @xdude2x
      @xdude2x Рік тому

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  5 років тому

      I’m sorry I don’t know anything about that trailer. I’m assuming it had a 5000lb axel. Even though the BX23S is just over 3000 if you’re going with a single axel I’d try and find a 5k trailer.
      However, a dump trailer is a practical option if you plan on hauling more than just your tractor.

      That’s exactly right, just for the new cab. I really liked all the features the new Curtis cab offered and this particular cab was not available for my BX25. The time was right to trade up. Made sense and Minnesota is freezing cold in the winter. I’m getting too old to suffer freezing temps any longer. As I type this it’s 35 degrees. October 11th. We went straight from summer to winter. Hey Jon, I have a question about the new 23s and the mower deck you kept to put on it. My local dealer told me that the decks are not interchangeable between the 70 series and the 80 series. Is this correct?

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  6 років тому +1

      Your dealer is wrong unless he’s referring to something about the drive over deck I’m not aware of. The deck like I have is interchangeable.

    • @kopplinfamily7529
      @kopplinfamily7529 6 років тому

      That's what I thought. My deck isn't drive over, I'm looking at trading in and I told them I wanted to keep my current deck to ease the cost. He blatantly told me my deck will not fit any 80 series BX. They are not interchangeable Can you make a video of you installing yours so I can take it back in with me? I'm starting to lose trust in my Kubota dealer and the next closest dealer is John deere. I do not want a green tractor unless I have to. If you have watched my videos, you know I have a 2016 BX so it's not old by any means.

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  6 років тому

      Your dealer needs to do his homework. Here is a video I did with my old mower deck on my new BX23S. It’s the exact same mounting assembly. Nothing has changed. He either wants to sell you a new mower deck or he doesn’t know what he is talking about. ua-cam.com/video/dbk1iiGcvNY/v-deo.html

    Thoughts on extended warranty for tractor, loader, backhoe? I'm almost to my year mark and they want like $4000 for extended warranty on all tractor parts but not sure if it's worth it. Seems like most issues are operator errors

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  5 років тому

      Seems expensive to me, I don’t know much about the extended warranty option so I’m not your best resource for information. I agree with you however that most issues are operator error. It would be hard to justify $4000 though.

      Jon Ritter share what you wish about the cost. It is really no ones business but your family and the dealer.
      Also no one else will have a BX25D in the same condition as yours to trade in. So the deal you made will be different than anyone else will make. You also did not need many things that others may! One item that comes to mind is the 3 pt hitch.
