Thank you Neil my Tractor sales Friend. This is so informative, I have always been confused on the 3 Point hitch line up/ Hook up. You make it so easy to understand. Excellent Teaching Job.
I don't own a Kubota but I love these videos, and while I may never buy from you (I own a Kioti), I appreciate all the work you all do to educate new and more experienced tractor owners (yes, I'm in the "New" category).

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. The only way I can support you is to watch, give a thumbs up, and subscribe to your channel. Keep up the good work.
I love your helpful videos, every time I have an issue with doing something with my Kubota, I look for a Messick's video. I've worked in bridge construction and utility work for over 20 years. I bought my first personal tractor last year and feel like a greenhorn doing everything. Thanks for sorting me out!
Thanks so much for this video. I have a Kubota L3301 that I never took the bush hog off of until recently. When I went to put it back on I couldn't figure out how to attach the PTO shaft to the PTO takeoff. Showing how to slip back the collar was the trick I needed to know!
Another great informative video. I would add, whatever the hitch or implement , a pry bar, such as a five or six steel fence post, is an excellent addition to your Equipment yard to move the implement slightly up, down, left or right with little effort or muscle, that aides in lineup equipment to tractor hitch.
Great video. I grew up on a farm/ranch and have driven a bunch of tractors, trucks and heavy equipment. I’m not arrogant enough to think I can’t learn more.
When dropping an implement it helps to position it on wood blocks or something similar. Not only does it minimize ground contact but it makes it much easier to "persuade" it to match up with your lower links by moving it slightly if necessary.... and I guarantee you it will be necessary.
Nicole I don't get why people get OTT with that as most tractor PTO's are clutched. You can tell if your pto is or not as you can turn the stub 1/2 a turn to get the shaft on easier.
Hi Neil, I've watched some of your videos occasionally in the past and liked them, so now I'm a new subscriber. I have a couple Kubota's and your never too old to learn something. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your assistance on this issue. I was wondering if you could do a video on swapping wheels around to allow a wider distance and greater balance. My Kubota L3800 is good but with agriculture tyres it’s very easy to flip over. Thanks, Jimmy in Australia
Yup, those pins hurt when they close on your knuckles. I've done that plenty of times, and thats with the thicker ones. I've learned not to play with them and to not open them untill everything is hooked up. (P.S. I just subscribed)
It's definitely worth it. The $120 quick hitch from Harbor Freight does the job good. I have 1000 lbs of counterweight on it. Don't use the $30 bushings, use the $3 sleeves. Remove the bolts from the top hook and put in quick easy to move pins instead. Now when I buy implements I just make sure that they will match up to it. Get an adapter plate with spaced-out pinholes for the top for some of the implements .
@@alankovacik1928 I've had my 1st tractor for about a week now. Honestly I've swapped implements on it a couple times, no issues either time, but then again its a sub-compact tractor with smaller implements so they're not that cumbersome to not be able to move a bit by hand if needed to line things up. I did call my dealer and order the quick hitch though to just make it a little simpler hopefully. I bought the Kubota BX2680 with the loader, tiller, mid mount 60" mower, box blade, and pallet forks. Its getting its first bit of work this weekend at my aunt and uncle's moving gravel around in their yard for them and leveling things out. We shall see how it works out.
Back in the day it used to be quite common for the right hand 3PH lift link to have a hand crank to aid in attaching implements. You would attach the pin on the left side and then turn the crank to raise or lower the right side to aid in getting it attached. This crank could also be used to level an implement side-to-side. Most SCUT/CUT makers like JD and Kubota no longer put the crank handles on the lift links which is a bummer. They all still have some type of adjustment mechanism but these days it's more for leveling rather than helping to attach the implement. I believe New Holland still has the cranks on a lot of their models.
I'm with you on that. I was thinking of going though and trying to find some of those and see if we can match them up to other models. Seems people are interested in doing those kind of things.
A helpful add on to this video would be quick hitch that has a floating implement, such as that deck you were using. Another question would be with the finishing mower you had in this video, the two arms that hook into the 3 point arms, are they supposed to be in the slot that allows for minor up/down movement like in your video or the two static holes above, when coupled to a a quick hitch to allow the deck to float?
I love the quick hitch. If I get an implement that the top link don’t fit right I bust out the torch and welder and make it fit. All my implements hook up with ease, some just took some modifications.
There are quick hitch options that are lower link only. They are also independent from each other. Tractor Mike did a video on them a couple of months ago.
Thanks for another informative video. I grew up around large ag equipment. But your videos are very handy to show, that compact tractors are a different breed. Keep up the good work. You've helped me decided on a brand I want to purchase sadly I'm not in your area so I can't purchase from yoy
Hi. Love the videos. I just bought my first box blade. Can I drop the mower deck while the box blade is held up? I can’t seem to figure out if they can work independently.
4:40 I've heard a few horror stories from family members about people being hurt/killed by a pto shaft. One story was a guy in highschool my aunt knew was out working with his tractor when something got wrapped around the shaft. He grabbed it from the seat without thinking and got ripped off the seat and both arms wrapped around the shaft ripping them both off. He regained consciousnesses got up and went to his house to used a pencil to call a friend who lived near town to get help. As his home wasn't close to any emergency services. It was a rural area in northeast Pennsylvania in the early 70s.
One thing you should have said is that you should always park your implements on flat level ground. @@dougbarr5703 I had to modify my box blade to fit, a couple minutes with a grinder and a can of spray paint and it works just fine with the quick hitch, although still not really sold on it...not sure if its something with my tractor but it seems the 3 point doesn't lower enough to hook up to anything on the ground with the quick hitch, it would barely connect to my box blade and tiller on the ground, now with the quick hitch it doesn't hook up at all, I have to put the implements on a pallet, or 4x4 blocks in order to hookup to them.
I wish our local dealers carried attachments. All the kubota dealers near me have a pathetic selection. I would love to check out messicks. They aren’t in my area.
