YOU ARE THE BEST VACUUM REVIEWER EVER!
👍🏻
Seconded! Someone requested this a short while ago; I sighed thinking to myself both the cost and difficulty to acquire these would make it far off if ever.
How wrong I was.
He is really serious about his vacuum reviews! He’s made a vacuum lab!
He is the best. I have him to thank for my shark 😂
I got a vaccum 3 months ago off of this channels recommendation.
Can someone please explain to me why I'm still watching everything this channel puts out?
At this point it's like smartphone reviews. You know you're not buying another one for a while but you watch anyway.
Literally. I have $10 in my account right now.
Because they are cool
I don't need one, but I'm watching anyways.
Buy a $8 robot vacuum
You're so polite in saying this is a waste of time and money.
But he didn't say that.
@@daibonehead he said it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and walks like a duck.
could it be a pigeon that identifies as a duck?
you dont always need to say things explicitly to get your message across.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention how it misses corners completely. Dyson chose to exclude a side brush and kept the robot round which means that it simply cannot reach corners at all. There’ll be sand and dust bunnies in the corners of the room because the Dyson is simply not designed to reach into corners.
I had been waiting years (over a decade in fact) for a Dyson robot but after their first robot, I decided to wait some more. Eventually my Roomba died and I needed a replacement so I got a new Roomba. Then Dyson’s second gen robot came out without fixing the corner problem and still unable to fit under beds and couches. iRobot is a veteran in this space and in retrospect, their experience building robots supersedes Dyson’s experience in building vacuums.
Try the eufy L70
It doesn't go under stuff which is the main attraction for me with a robot Vacuum. I actually don't mind cleaning my floors myself but hate getting under stuff.
There is generation 3 there were leaks to internet that it will be D sshapes
@@brarautorepairs Thats exactly why i won't buy a lidar robot, it simply wont go under any furniture
Me too,I think that they must design a square robot instead of rounded vacuum that can detect corner shapes and vac.
Thanks for all these vacuum reviews! Just a suggestion, could you include a sound clip of what the units sounds like in operation and db readings on how loud the devices are.
That's actually an amazing idea!
I think it's important! Like, what if you plan to have it clean your house at night while you sleep, but it sounds like a whipper snipper?
I'd absolutely want to know how loud a device is before even considering to buy.
I can't stop watching your vacuum reviews!
Lol, that's great. I have been a fan of your videos and style for a long time.
It's a problem... i can't stop either

Thanks for producing such an amazing content! Even though I don’t need a new robot, I can’t stop watching your videos because of the scientific approach in tests! Thank you!
I absolutely agree!
Graham Regan I also like these robot vacuum reviews. The vacuums remind me that we’re a step closer to robot butlers.
When a robot vacuum has more memory than your laptop :(
Don't worry, it's because it costs double (or triple) the price of your laptop too.
And a better core.
I think that 10gig should be storage rather than memory so no your laptop should have more memory
madmax2069 1:00 it literally shows there as 10 gigs of memory why would a robot vaccuum need storage?
@@bobmiah are you stupid ? It uses storage to save the layout of the room, it sure wouldn't need 10GB of Ram.

This Dyson vacuum only costs five million dollars. Dyson really is the Apple, of the vacuum cleaning market.
then you spill your food or beverage
This is literally the most addicting you tube channel I have ever subscribed.
I can’t stop watching
Heck, I'm not even in the market for a new robovac, but you do a great job on these reviews. Kudos!
This thing looks amazing
I went to a vacuum shop and asked about Dysons. He took me to the back and showed me 20 Dysons that he's repairing. I know have a Shark Apex and I love it.
5 year warranty on everything except the cord and filters. I just drop it at Dyson repair center and they fix it for free or give me a new one free. I run a housecleaning business, I have both Dyson and Sharks. Dyson is just better. Period.
As alwayss, in depth, short but detailed, great review!
I cant stop watching the vaccum review either. Im in stores watching for a good robot vaccum, this youtube page has it all!
Glad you enjoy it!
Dyson's approach to this product is really interesting. It's a shame that the navigation is so slow and cumbersome compared to the leading manufacturers' robots, but it seems that this has the best vacuum mechanics. I'd be really interested to see an air quality test with this. I know the fog test would be impossible, but the ambient air quality test you run on uprights would work. For those with allergies it'd be interesting to know which robo vacs are well sealed. (I'm certain my Neato D7 is poorly sealed given how dirty the dust bin cavity gets).
Maybe it is possible to run a test on a treadmill so it stands in one place while measuring the fog?
The good news is that when powered off, the vacuum doubles as an ottoman.
Lol
I have this vacuum, we actually use it for that, it charges in the middle of our living room and we use it as a ottoman. LMFAO
Right
You can remove the brushbar to clean it by undoing the red screw cap. Also, can you introduce a dark room test for robot vacuums? As it might be a worry for other ones that use camera navigation and you leave it to run in a dark house.
My Neato going strong after 5 or 6 years.. I can't even remember how long. Never had to do a thing and it's cleaning pattern is very efficient.
brock12003 yikes does it have suction other older robot vacuums in that time frame just swept
It probably just sweeps or his wife goes back and fixes it. NEATO nickel batteries are only good for about 18 months before they need to replaced. And there are other components that get warm and require replacement. I would take his comment with a jar of salt.
PNW the only thing I’ve replaced was the battery this year. You’re right though it’s only been four years of trouble free vacuuming. The roombas I had previously were all dead within a year.
Do you have tests that show how often a robot gets stuck? (Area rugs/ mats on tile always cause a problem for our bot).
they failed at one of the most important things: keep it flat to be able to drive under bed and couch 👎🏼
That was brought up in the video
somehow it suits under all my beds...

@@RoboVacParty anyone with a modern designed bed this won't work...

great review as always, thank you!
I am a lesbian
I just imported one from Japan. It works perfectly in my American home. It goes under my furniture and goes everywhere my roomba j7 can. It is a shame Dyson didn’t release it in the states, it is better than the 360 eye in every way. It has stiffer brushes, it spins the brush bar faster, the lights allow it to clean under my bed. Also have not had it clog once
I just purchased one from Japan as well. It should be here in a couple weeks hopefully. Has Dyson been persistent in upgrading the firmware and adding new features or have they moved on since they just released the 360 Nav?
Have you consider doing a review on a Miele up right vacuum?
Great review. I’m actually happy with my Roborock S6
Yeah I'm not so lazy where any of these types of products could replace me. This video cements this. Great video.
at 3:04, why does the roomba 690 get a score of 84 but when tested in the full review it got a score of only 62???
I just can't shake the privacy / surveillance concerns.
A camera on wheels connected to the internet with 10GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU.
I agree. The same with all the robots really but especially this one.
It is alarming how quickly people are allowing these type of devices into their home in the midst of the current political climate. If there is one thing the Trump supporters/dissenters can agree on it's that corporations and government are evil. So why do people allow this? I guess talking the talk is one thing and being able to show off your cool gadget that makes life easier comes before all else for these type of people.
Every laptop has a camera? Some smart tvs have cameras and microphones. Your phone has multiple cameras and a microphone. What is your point?
@@Slick1020 Haha yeah bro, we are already being spied on in some why so why not let more companies spy on you!
You do realise how terrible an argument that is right?
@@Luckingsworth If you aren't doing anything illegal, who cares. This isn't China. Our government has checks and balances for a reason.
@@Slick1020 And those checks and balances don't apply to corporations that aren't the government. (They don't even reliably apply to the government, depending on which government you're talking about, but that's another matter.)
I have the version 1 Dyson and I feel like the mapping and zoning aspect should be a software update. The lighting feature is cool but it otherwise seems identical.
I’d love for you to compare the two as far as their mapping and room completion time goes to see if there are any real differences.
Excellent review, well done. I live in the UK and had wondered if this would ever be released here - not yet. Also, I wondered how it stacked up against the S9+ and I think I know now ;)
the time has comes where it is important how much ram my vacuum cleaner has! Can i upgrade it and wich DDR-Ram will i need? :D can i play Doom?
This vaccum has more computer power than my laptop 😢😢
But can it run Crysis?

When a robot vacuum has more cpu cores than your pc.
You forgot to mention that the restriction zones had the ability to shut off the brush or the climb feature. In your small room example, you could of had it shut off the brush on the edges of the rug so it wouldn't catch on the tassels.

Thank you too!
An add-on feature I’d still like to see on a high-end robot vacuum is a charging station that allows the robot to empty its debris receptacle automatically by either incorporating an interconnection for an existing central vacuum system or a full capacity canister vac.

I kind of like the height, I have wheelie office chairs most robot vacumns get stuck under. That'd be a nice addition to your test actually.
Xiaomi roborok is still the best product , the radar on top is the best solution , camera is slow
Same with Neato, though I find that it's very easily confused if you move its base even a tiny bit, or place a new obstacle near its base. At least the cameras can account for that stuff.
I prefer the Dyson V11
His conclusion is very nice and true! I think the limited release is due to innovation and RnD. The next, or the model after next, will have all the lessons learnt from their engineers implemented.

Could you add a sound part to your videos where we can hear how loud the vacuum yes
Too much factor plays into portraying loudness. unless he's showing the numbers (which's pointless unless you've a REALLY good idea how loud those decibel levels are), you just CAN'T have an accurate idea unless you're standing around the thing itself.
Falcon Windblade you are right☺️☺️
Interesting. To be released in Japan and Canada initially, “due to a certain home type.” That is say, being released in two countries where it is customary to remove ones shoes when entering a home. Likely nothing to do with unique aspects of their home design. Likely a recognition by Dyson of the limitations in picking up larger particles tracked in from outside.
As far as I know Dyson released this robot vacuum first in China based on an article I read. I remember it clearly because I wondered why.
Being from Sweden and having traveled to a LOT of countries. The US is basically the only place where you go inside your house with out wear on.
Charlie Bandoola I don’t understand how you could walk around your house with your shoes on...
Charlie Bandoola And Australia and the UK
drbeekjeek I’ve seen many people from the us that wear their shoes inside the house
You briefly showed a chart that compared all the robot vacuums you tested when picking up sand. Do you have a chart comparing all the vacuums in every test?
Got out the really nice box for this video, I see.
Being launched in Japan made a lot of sense now. Over there space is small, they don’t wear shoes indoors and are very clean folks, thus the likelihood of big dirt or small stones to clog the vacuum are little to none.
They’re working on a riding vac for US homes.
Lol
I know this a year old, but I'm curious if it was really clogged or if it was just Dyson's sensors shutting it down. My Dyson upright does the same thing, as soon as there's a change in suction (e.g. one side lifts up from larger debris and suddenly the airflow has changed) it kills the motor and the light flashes. I attribute it to over-engineering and putting sensors where you don't really need them .. like a BMW.
Ive used everything from a DC 7 to DC25, and some sticks and think they are great vacuums
I would have expected this robo dyson earlier than now.
my first pc: dual core
dyson: quad core

Next up Octa Core
How much CPU did my Tandy have in 1994? I have no idea. Must have been lesd than the 133 megahertz of Pentium1. Consumer priced dual-core didn't even exist until like 2002s...?
@@TJim-vd3jn First consumer dual core CPUs came in 2006.
Great video. In all the testing you have done what would you say the best overall one is? Robo mop too?
....Every Once in A while Somebody Will Come By and Fall for This Thing!!
Why does these test never include, how they handle or not handle doorsteps?
Thank you, I was thinking about this as well. Though when he talks about measuring the vacuum it creates, you can see the belts do raise it up a bit, kind of indicating that it can climb over smaller obstacles
It's a standard feature for newer, pricier vacuums with smart sensors to be able to climb 2 to 3 centimeters of height. adding that would be rather pointless at this point.
2 seconds into the video and already I see it will not fit under my couch or recliner microwave cart and a bunch of other furnishings.
So cool man!

Wow, didn’t know that Dyson made a new improved robot.
When I was in Japan 2 months ago, I saw it at an electronics store, and I thought it was the old robot that’s being still sold in certain countries. But now I know it’s actually the new robot that is currently sold only in certain countries.
Super mini robot vacumm !!!!😯😯😯
Wait Does it actually have 10GB of RAM memory?! Or is it just a 10GB sdcard?
Likely 2gb ram, 8gb storage.
On the "more airflow doesn't mean more suction" mention it's completely true, there are many types of fans (and granted this might use a different system) but the underlying principle doesn't change. You can have have high air flow but poor suction due to what ever design it uses (or any robots design) the type of fans which produce the most airflow have a fundamental design flaw. They can move more air but they loose significantly more airflow while sucking stuff up. The blades are normally thin and long with large gaps between them allowing for more air to pass thru but under use they also make is a lot easier for the air to flow right back out thru the intake.
The workaround for this is using wide blades with very little gap, this reduces the amount of air exiting through the intake while also negatively effecting how much air can enter the intake at any given time. The downside isn't huge but with larger fan blades covering the intake will restrict air coming in, however they lose considerable less suction while picking stuff up.
Really the difference in design comes down to air flow vs air pressure. To some degree they work together but high airflow fans lack the needed pressure to prevent air from being pushed back out thru the intake. Air pressure fans solve this by blocking more of the intake and acting as a physical barrier prevent the air from exiting thru the intake.
The higher the air pressure the lower the airflow, the higher the airflow the lower the pressure. Both systems work but each has it's pro's and con's and mostly comes down to what is the use case to choose the one which will work best. Airflow is good at moving air thru a unrestricted intake (and as long as it's unrestricted it will preform well, but performance drops sharply once restricted), while air pressure is good at moving air thru a restricted intake but at the cost of overall air flow. When given the two they both work well but air pressure fans are a better general purpose choice (jack of all trades) but in specific use cases where the intake isn't restricted by trash it picks up or for example carpet blocking the intake slight than air flow is ideal but it only really does well in these conditions and performance will be sharply effected if used in less than ideal conditions where air pressure does well in most cases and is punished far less with the down side of less airflow in general.
Airflow tends to lack the pressure needed to prevent air from exiting back thru the intake (and as long as it's not restricted than it's not a issue) but in general preforms poorly when intake is restricted.
Air pressure tends to work better overall in most conditions but the wider blades used to pressurize the intake limit the airflow with the benefit of keeping higher airflow even when restricted.
So yes, more airflow doesn't necessarily mean more suction if performance drops sharply in conditions where the intake is restricted.
Manual vacuuming of carpets is what kept me alive!
Why
Just a suggestion, I need to swap out the brush roll for the fuzzy one and need a baseboard cleaner on the side as mine attract dust.
Knowing Dyson, the vacuum cost your first born.

I have the Dyson V7 stick vac, easily the best vacuum I've ever owned. Would not go back now. Only paid CAD$240 on Ebay, Dyson sells their refurbished vacuums there.
does anyone feel like in the back of your mind that these vacuums also come with feelings and/or emotions
Yes definitely

Which solution is better for the main brush: the one from iRobot (all silicone or rubber) or like all the others?

So a single froot loop will block the unit. Hard Pass.
That price. Yes, it's CAD, so a little high, but between the price and the minuscule bin size, this would never work for me. And for just a few hundred more . . . Roomba S9+. Looks like Dyson thought 'outside of the box', but not in an entirely good way. They left some important features inside the box.
That's most likely why it's not being sold in the US, their next gen may be bigger designed for larger homes.
I don't see the D7 on the deep clean test. Curious since that's the one I have
Dyson: the Apple of vacuums
I would love to see an AI test that measures how often the robots bump into stuff. I've seen in a lot of reviews of even the newest models that they tend to slam full-speed into furniture, particularly table legs.
Could you also do a dust/smoke test with the robots like you do with the other vaccumes?
Have you had a chance to test the cleaning robots from Electrolux like the Pure i9? They seem to be getting pretty popular and are using both camera and lasers for navigation.
