is it still a good buy in 2024?
Oh great UA-cam has decided vacuums is my new content
Welcome!
The recommendations on UA-cam occasionally get me feeling a little suicidal not going to lie."Hey just in case you want to watch that video you disliked 4 years ago I'll keep recommending it!"
@@jaxsun72 don't do it
Same here! But it was super interesting.
@@jaxsun72 DO A FLIP
2005 we got the first Dyson ball which makes maneuvering easier. 16 years later we get this. They always come up with good solutions!
Anyone who can do a technical no holds barred review of a product in 6 minutes deserves a subscribe! Looking forward to the next video.
Would've loved to see how well it did vacuuming in gaps in the floor boards. Since it's mostly mechanical, does it have the suction power to suck up dust and debris from gaps?
It does man!!
Not enough people talking about the glitter pickup tests! So pretty. Super satisfying.
How many is enough?
Glitter! Hate the stuff - impossible to get out of carpet. I'm a chauffeur, and from now on, I'll be adding a huge "glitter surcharge" for passengers wearing glitter.
We just got one and its honestly one of the best small appliances in the house. And it's super fun to use.
This would be a perfect gift for houses that are 100% hard floor but then you mentioned the axles snag with hair which gave me nightmare flashbacks with maintenance of cleaning out a roomba. Here’s to hoping that Dyson improves that part of it
Lemme guess: Hair and dogshit in there?
Agree. This is a nightmare and I want to return mine
I think Dyson made a really nice product here! I do think this will be more popular in Southeast Asia markets since most people have hardwood floors, don't usually have a carpet, live in a smaller house (60-90sqm). But the hair getting stuck in the axials are my deal breaker since it is too troublesome. For now though my V8 is still working fine so until I have to replace it, I'll stick to it.
how long have you been using the v8?
Yup. I was sold until the axel hair buildup. Shame.

Can you use the dual roller on the v15?
Hello, not sure if you will read this but anyways... So this model seems very interesting to me as I mostly have hard floors. I do have SOME carpets (entrance and etc). Can you not use the torque head at all on it? It uses completely different tools?
@@Kalarm42 Correct, the mounting system is incompatible.
@@quickhatch8160 No, incompatible mounting system.
Will you ever do air purifiers again? Also would you add them to the website to compare?
This is really interesting. I would love to have one of these. It especially would come in handy to get all that hidden debris underneath the cabinets in the kitchen which always seems to be stuck there
I’m loving my V15 detect, that soft roller with the laser is something else. It’s my first soft roller and it’s almost made my broom completely obsolete.
I bought mine on a BF/CM sale on QVC and I absolutely love mine. I thought it would be so gimmicky, but it's not. I vacuum in the dark since I have dark flooring and it gets absolutely everything. I found lots of corners and things I missed because you can't "see" the dirt/hair. I had an old V6 cordless and this thing cleans as well if not better than my Ball Allergen Upright. I haven't touched my broom since getting it either. I'm gonna get another battery just to have the extra flexibility, and I want the hose and dusting kit for the car.
Thank you Vacuum Wars, great review. IT’S ABOUT TIME A VACUUM COMPANY INVENTED A VACUUM WITH MANEUVERABILITY! I have always HATED how they throw a handful of dust, and vacuum back and forth! Vacuuming requires all this maneuverability around table and chair legs, into right spots, etc. Thank you Dyson….THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!
Thank you for making this video, it makes shopping the numerous Dyson vacuums so much easier ❤️
That is great to hear. You're welcome!
I just love the pattern of your reviews! Thank you!
No smiley face tho
As always great review👍👍. I always wait for those new reviews to come out. The omni and V15 did not come to the market where I live (Israel) but that is sure to come. What I thought was missing in the video, is the "near wall pickup abillity" without putting the crevice tool. That is a major issue with many vacuums. C U next week..
Love these vacuums reviews especially dysons in particular
Really great video. Love the precise testing and concise break down
Thank you!
Thanks for reviewing this. When I first saw it, it reminded me of the swivel sweepers they used to sell like 10 years ago. Seen those? This is basically like a super premium version.
I’m always unsure whether a roller would suit our floor. Rather then the smooth hardlfloor demonstrated, it is a tiled hard floor, gaps between (what are smaller rectangular tiles means it never a flat seal.). What do you think ?
Great job. Professional housecleaner here. Love Dyson. Always interested in new models.
Ok I'm buying this. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and hardwood floors. My current floor cleaning routine is to sweep the traditional way and follow through with a swiffer sweeper. I usually have to go over the floors at least twice a week during shedding season.....I can never keep up with all the pet hair.
Looks like I found my new vacuum. I currently live in a house and have a 20 year old Dyson DC07 "Full Gear" and a DC16 hand held cordless. They both still work great (I keep on top of the filter cleaning/replacement), but I'm selling the house and moving into a Class A RV with all hard floors. I'm going to give both of my vacuums to family and replace them with a single unit. Benn trying to find the perfect one and this looks like it. Thanks for the review.
I love another vacuum review 🥳
First!
Ever since I found out the Omni glides existence I was waiting for this review, nice one! 👍
Thanks! 👍
Finally a decent hard floor vacuum that works like a swivel sweeper!
I think dyson needs to make a vacuum like the older models, with the handle literally just being a handle with a switch. They could make that concept appealing by integrating heurist/360eye technology, so you can detach the handle and it becomes a robot vacuum
Thanks for this! Great job and very well made.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just got the V15 today!! The Omni-glide reminds me of a swivel sweeper from years ago (I still have one that I custom fitted with a lithium battery). Thanks for the video!
Are you happy with it? I can’t decide whether to go for the V15 or a Shark.
@@mialia8120 I was facing the same issue and went with the shark. I have all hardwood floor, and being able to leave it upright and then have it as a canister vacuum sold me. I felt the stick was just to limiting.
@@theyear1500 Thank you! I’m still undecided but your comment is another pro on the Shark side!
@@mialia8120 best buy has an extended return policy currently. Easy way to try them out.
@@theyear1500 Thank you, again!
Very clear and informative review! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great highlight ofnwhy it is a new useful tool and great looking option for hard floor exclusive clean-up.
How strange/difficult is it to guide in straight up/down moves?
The 360 rollers look like they would introduce some difficulty to straight line vacuuming
This thing looks very interesting and it doesn't cost the earth (for a Dyson, anyway). I'm looking for a new house and it will have minimal carpeting, so perhaps this is in my future. Thanks, VW. I always like your Dyson reviews. "Fanboi" here. Of Dyson.
Been looking into these.
Great review as always 👌👌
Glad you like them!
Can you test the double roller on the V11? I'm curious if it works.
Thank you for reviewing it I was just gonna comment about that
I LOVE mine, I use it more than the V15.
Hey DetroitBORG!!
DetroitBORG, we miss you!
I miss you too!
... but if you could only have one, what would you choose? Do you have carpets or area rugs?
@@davidhunternyc1 I would choose the V15, more versatile.
What a great video! I have gone through the same issues as you. I have a lot of hardwood floors and pets - dust and pet hair clogs every single hardwood vacuum and hardwood vacuum attachment I have ever tried. Larger pet hair clumps during shedding and large dust bunnies almost always necessitate picking up the head and vacuuming reverse into the larger debris usually remedies this. Really wish Dyson put more battery in these units and remedied the hair getting caught in the axel. Hair getting caught is a huge issue with anyone with pets and this means that almost every few sessions id have to detangle the hair out the axel which could lead to breaking of parts etc. At $400 low battery life and almost required consistent maintenance are big cons to overlook. Do you have any suggestions for vacuums under $1000, preferably under $500 that handle dusting/larger dust bunnies/large pet hair on hardwood floors better than this Dyson or at least comparable? I was thinking about the Henry or the James from Numatic but also feel that as a lifetime upright vacuum user that a canister may seem cumbersome
Wonderful review. Thanks.
You're very welcome!
Great Review! I wish they had promoted the Omni Glide not as a standalone vacuum but as an extension that can be attached to other Dyson Cordless Stick Vacuums.
I'd love to buy a head like that for my current dyson vac.
@@wwaxwork Me, too. Unfortunately even the fluffy roller head that Dyson sells for the V11 in the UK is not available in the US, and if you do find a reseller for it on this side of the Atlantic, it'll be around $150 including shipping. Now, if the omni-glide head were available as a plug-in attachment for the V11 or even the V15, that would be worth the price, given it's greater versatility over the standard fluffy roller.
They probably wanted something more compact. And in that, they succeeded.
they want you to buy their new products thats why they are dangling the "upgrade" bundled with their new machine. hyperconsumerism
Ditto. I was looking for answers regarding this. Sad to know they dont sell the head on its own
Thanks for the review. Does it use the same air filter as any of the V-series vacuum?
I got it as soon as it went on sale locally. Love it. I was looking for a modern-day electric broom and that’s exactly how I use it. I do wish they would sell the charging stand here like they have in South Korea. Plus, they have more tools there: a revolving brush for furniture, a wide pick-up nozzle, and the lighted crevice tool. Looks like we got only the basics here in the States.
Your videos are strangely captivating. Really great testing and I just wish I watched your videos before buying my recent vacuum. I still got a decent one thankfully, but I may end up getting this one for my basement (where I'm putting in vinyl plank flooring).
Thanks so much. I hope you are happy with what you get.
@@VacuumWars Thank you for making such great content! You're helping a lot of people out with their purchases.
Hi thank you very much for your review! In comparision with a v11, which will make a hard floor cleaner?
Would it work on grout or spaces between floor planks? My hardwood floors are real old fashion wood planks that have tiny 5mm spaces in between them.
Balmuda came out with a vacuum with the exact same 360 head as well (although only available in Japan).
I was waiting for this!
Would be neat if that head could be used on a V15. The soft roller head the V15 comes with is pretty good anyway, so it's probably not a huge issue.
Looking to upgrade to Dyson... I have an 800 sq ft house with only hardwood and tile... This looks to be the perfect vacuum for me.
Oh man, I can see it now...the ultimate modular Dyson (v11 style of course) with hot swap batts, swapable omni heads/soft rollers with no sensor option, reinforced heads for when you ram corners, and of course ALL CLEAR ATTACHMENTS with light transmittance!!!!!!
I've been attaching hcri lights to my dyson for awhile now and dream of several such upgrades/innovations on the tools I use often.....but that fiber optic style led on the crevas tool is way more dyson than my mods!!
Love ya buddy. Such a humble wholesome dude.
I appreciate that
@@VacuumWars Your passion speaks for your character. And when you see a "why am I on a vacuum channel, anyway this is so interesting" comment, that's a testament to these qualities.
Keep it up boss, you're going places!
Very informative! Thanks!
You're welcome!
Great video, just ordered it via your link. Keep up the great reviews.
Awesome, thank you!
How is it so far?
@@brandon_nope hmmm a little disappointing. Its got a lot of flex in it so doesn't feel as premium as I was hoping. The head is small.. I have a large area of wood floor and it takes quite a bit to hit it all versus my old dust mop and you can only go fast on high mode or it misses stuff and it has little fuzy strips on each end which tend to catch and build up my puppy's little hairs and over a period of they build up enough to come off in clumps that then have to be vacuumed. I don't know I was expecting a better experience.
The fluffy roller has been a game changer on my UK /Europe V11 for my hard floors + extra sandy garden soil + giant dogs that I got all excited at the sight of that double roller head... I was so hoping it could fit my V11 😣
I already struggle with fur wrapping around the roller axle and the canister capacity on the V11, so this definitely won't be for me!
have you ever tested the side winder floor tool or the proteam blade? they both utilize the sweeping motion
Is there any adapter or converter that would allow you to use a dyson soft roller with one of it's canister vacuums? I have a Dyson Cenetic Big Ball Animal but I don't know if I can use a soft roller with it. Is there anything on the market for that?
always wonder can they add a small blade attachment to the axil. That way it can cut hair.
That is such a clever idea. Like a Swivel-Sweep on steroids! I wonder if they'll release the Omni Glide head for their other cordless machines as an accessory?
didn't realize I needed to watch this. Thanks!
nice! Thanks!
How does it perform with sand? Like beach sand. I find it heavier than glitter and difficult to pick up. I currently have a 3 party cleaning system for my hard floors: sweeping, swiffer, then vacuum the remaining piled sand. The broom misses some of the sand, then the swiffer collects the sand but can't pick it up. I'd love an opinion on this
Thanks for the thorough review. The ‘cons’ are crucial for making a wise investment.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video 😎
Thanks 😁
Which is better at avoiding long hair tangling when cleaning hard floors? Omni-glide or V15 with the fluffy roller?
Hi, just found this channel - enjoying :) - Do you have any reviews focused on thick carpet? My upright gets stuck on the deep carpet as the suction sucks it down into the carpet (just over a 1/2 inch pile). (note I've looked across the channel and can't find anything)
Imagine you created a new test where you would move the head 1m/sec, then 2m/s, etc. over big debris to see how it behaves to pick up stuff. How many cheerios it pick up at 3m/s vs 1m/s for example. Sure when there is a mess you slow down but in general you move fast. I have only hard floor so this seems what i have been waiting for. In winter we have this very short hair carpet for the boots. I am glad you tested. Will have to figure out what to do during winter.
Love your videos!
Thank you!
Can I buy the Omniglide brush and add it to my other dysons Cordeless vacuums?
Any recommendations for 1 x 1 inch tiled floors? The grout is so hard to clean.
Can we buy just the attachment to use on another Dyson handheld?
I finally pulled the trigger. Omni glide is the real deal. I’m so happy about the purchase. It’s so easy and light to use, making vacuum as frictionless as possible.
Great to hear!
This looks perfect for hardwood floors covered in dirt, dust and dog dandruff. I have a husky and a German Shepard so my hardwood floors are always coated in hair 😅
So be prepared to empty the dust cup every 5 minutes. 😐
@@AnyBodyWannaPeanut yay
Is the new double brush head compatible with the V-series?
How does it do on cat litter (all kinds like betonite, silica, fine wood chips , corncob sand) ? I have yet to find a vacuun that does well on these materials. Dyson 7 owner.
Can you get any of the hard wood floor brush heads for the cordless vacuums?
Like I’d love to get this brush head for my V11 Animal, but I’m not going to buy another vacuum.
Dyson is truly an innovator
Excellent review; with pets, I would like to see more space though.
Hi.
Can we clean carpet and sofa clothes and covers with Omni Glide? I mean can we use mattress tool attachment?
Will that help us anyway?
Loving your videos! How is it with picking up sand please?
Awesome
Thanks 🙏
Most welcome 😊
How bad is the tangling? my vacuums always have big hair tangle problems.. we have a Shark Rocket cordless and a Roomba s9+ but would love to have something like this Omni-glide instead of the old Rocket. Battery life at 20mins is fine so thats not a huge concern.. hair tangle and cleaing is
Im wondering whether the omniglide head gets attached to dyson digital slim model being released in other parts of the world?.
It would be very useful for my kitchen floor!
Dyson Omni Glide or Dyson V-15 or Tineco A10 for large area of wood floors? I need to pick up dust/pet hair and vacuum small crumbs.
awesome review
Thanks!
This is a bit random, but can you recommend a small appliance for cleaning tiled *small* bathroom floors? I've actually stopped using a mop, and am instead just getting down on my hands & knees, and simply spray & wipe with cloths. Most of the "dirt" is actually just matted on dust & fibres. A full blown floor cleaner is overkill.
Does it fit the other vacuums, v11, v15?
Good review, and it looks good, as long as you have short hair, I have a dyson stick thingy vacuum which i only used a handful of times, I had a power failure and out of the many electrical devices that were plugged in it was the only one that had a Terminal Failure....So I pull out my old Electrolux 70% recycled plastic stick vacuum plug it in as it had know charge let it charge and away we go, its well over 10 years, and it must of sat without use for a lot of that time, So it now comes out for a 5-10 minute job doing corners where my lovely Roborock 50 doesn't get. Maybe not the best place to say but with my experience dyson sucks, not happy at least with their stick models and run time pretty bad too.
I think that designwise this is a very bold solution to the problem Dyson experienced with one roller head. Tad dissapointed in Dyson that they did not engineer a true innovative new roller head, instead of just adding another one and making the final product twice as big.
Hello Vacuum Wars, just to ask, does this double roller head fit the Dyson Micro?
nice video! 4:39 huge shortcoming though. how could they missed this?
I have white painted floor, is there anything on the head of this vacuum that might damage my floor?
Now make that head available for the other vacuums. I just bought the V8, and it's brilliant.
I was just thinking "God forbid that they just release the head for the other models."
Me too, would be great for the current V1X series.
An aftermarket was made already, it’s avail on Amazon
UK don't have the Omni-glide yet. Do you know of any other vacs like this (multidirectional, hover like) ?
Is the head available as an attachment for their other vacuum systems?
Hey I really like your vacuum reviews. I had a request, could you maybe take a look at the Shark WandVac System? It's kind of like Shark's other WandVac you reviewed but bigger and with more attachments.
Is it actually possible to use this omny glide brush on a regular dyson like v10 etc?
I don't believe so.
Hey vacuum wars would you do a series on multinational available commercial backpack vacuums for those looking for commercial back pack vacuum that meets the testing you do?
It’s hard to find a commercial machine that true to what is advertised.
Love the maneuverability & streamline; however, I doubt if it will be in Canada in 6 months from now.
I have a siamese cat, how is it with pet hair? I have the Dyson animal but it’s too big for my current apartment. So I’m looking at a handheld and was just about to shell out $700 for the other Dyson handheld. Then I saw this and thought it could work. But is it really enough?
Do you need to keep the piece under the vacuum on? It is the one that touches the floor in between the rollers
The one question you forgot to answer: If you were still a cabin cleaning professional, would you get the omni-glide with a set of spare batteries?
Or would having to switch to a different vacuum (the V11 outsize? V15?) for other tasks such as carpets and more than momentary dusting be too much of a bother?
don't be silly. no professionals buy a Dyson.
