Love the tour and excited for my chimera to take off. My Godzilla is amazing for me. Pollinated 4 blooms last night.

I want to be your buddy so you can give me stuff, lol. But I also live in San Diego, in East County and have experienced lots of rust/rot this year which I attributed to the extra long cold and rain we had. I have about 7-8 trellises like yours and some in 15 gallons and had to cut a lot back. How did you protect your trellises during the winter? Also, how can I buy some of your cuttings? Never mind, I posted this before the end of the video. I guess I should’ve waited. Lol.

Hey Mark, I didn’t protect with anything. I just gave a lot potassium and magnesium sulfate prior to the winter. I still got hit with rust and you just have to treat it.

What size pot are you using that could hold up the poles? Thanks for the video.

I’m hoping my cuttings will give me at least 1 fruit this summer. Do fruits only grow once or multiple times in the same spot? When pruning is it best to cut back new growth or last years for more fruits?

California has a late summer this year so I’m hoping we get 2 waves of fruit. Last year I had 3 waves of fruit. When pruning, it’s best to remove the new growth, the less branches you leave on the plant, the more likely they will focus on fruiting.

Thanks for sharing the tour of your garden. Are those tomato trellises from Home Depot going to be strong enough to support mature fully grown Dragon Fruits?

Yes, they are strong. The caveat is that you need to keep it trimmed so it’s balanced.

Which 3 varieties have given you the most fruit?

It varies. When the plants are matured, they all produced a lot fruits. For me last year, AB, Sugar Dragon, Bruni all gave me a lot, and I could name a lot more.
