I go for shows and manga more like, Monster, Berserk (RIP), Ghost in the Shell, Wolf Children, Bokurano, Paprika, Parasyte, Uzumaki, etc. Shows and manga with characters that feel real and grounded even in fantasy. Characters that aren't just 2D cut out characters that fill a trope list of waifus and husbandos.

Almost caught up with Seitokai Yakuindomo. It initially felt a bit awkward, but as I kept watching, I started to love it more and more. And now, I'm waiting for the next movie which, if there is a plan, might come out in the next six years. Yay?
The premise of "Why are you here, Teacher" is so ridiculous that I was laughing pretty hard every episode in addition to the top tier cultural experience it provides. "Chivalry of a Failed Knight" I also recommend as I enjoyed it's plot and it's "plot"
Chivalry is a great show, and I am saying that as someone who seriously dislikes needless fan service, but after the first few episodes it actually uses that sparingly and mostly with reasons, and I liked the plot and characters.
@@fenrirr22 what i like about failed is that unlike a lot of shows which go with the harem route with all the plots the hero meets, its instead choose one plot and stay with out with the eyes just adding to the atmopshere since it came out the same time as Astrik war (I think that the right title) which begining nearly the same way, It was interesting to compare the two. I enjoy Chivalery a who lot better.

Great video. I felt the bottom half of the plot was a bit lacking, but Japan is more of a top heavy country when it comes to writing their plots. For bottom heavy plots, I’ll stick to my favorite hip hop/R&B music videos. But overall, great resource. I’ll keep this video in mind when I need a citation for my research.
Also Basquash definitely deserves more recognition. Miyuki's an angel and mecha basketball is some spacejam anime energy that there needs to be more of.

Seikon no Qwaser has surprisingly high production values. Especially those fight and "Power Up" scenes. Probably the best guilty pleasure I've watched.
Also the music is surprisingly good, I just re discover it recently after well over a decade since I read it (I didn't even know it had an anime!), and I'm surprised by the quality of what I have found Like it's absolutely trash, but quality trash But I have to say I'm very disappointed in their use of Christian art work, not because it's blasphemous or something, but they clearly didn't do enough research to find the actual interesting stuff Like you have that plot and you never once mention the numerous piece of art with Mother Marry feeding Saint -ehm- directly from the sources? Or several art piece of her dripping "soma" on the soul of sinners in purgatory? Come on, Christianity has so much insane stuff, why don't you exploit it more!
Leaving a like for Demon King Daimao. What I love about it didn't simply jump the shark - it jumped ALL the sharks. Then stitched them together into a massive Frankenshark so it could jump that too. I'd say the first two-thirds are "cultured" anime, while the last third is like The Ultimate Showdown (of Ultimate Destiny). Like, upon rewatch, I simply commented "oh wow, I'd completely forgotten about that particular spore of madness" after a dragon named Peterhausen coughs up a missile, sprouts cyberpunk tentacles, and yells at the protagonist to buy him time while he uploads a computer virus to God.
The writing for this episode *chefs kiss* I had to do double takes on each category definition to be well immersed in the full brunt of the culture. Is this the power of a UA-cam veteran? I believe so.
