One thing to take into consideration is other areas of the structure (house) may become over conditioned. This is not creating individual zones - only a true zoned system can do that.
I agree with you. This is certainly going to be the case if the room you are targeting to set your thermostat on is severely different to the rest of the house.
Thats a good question. One could say that the sensor uses Bluetooth however based on my research it uses a wireless protocol called Thread to communicate with the thermostat which is similar to Bluetooth. The distance between the sensor and thermostat can be up-to 50 feet or about 15 meters which is usually enough for most homes. Hope this helps.
Nope is not : the gen 3 is better. New one won’t work with Alexa. Needs to be brighter . Is a pain to navigate around in finding set ups. Does not do a very good job keeping temperature with averaging sensors. Is making the ac unit run a lot more then it used to. Note I’ve had nest ever since it came out this one does not seem to pull its weight.
I bought a second sensor and there is no "add" button on the app. I thought I could use multiple sensors!?
Great walk through. 76 is too hot for me. In Arizona, I like the temperature set at 72. :)
Nice walk-through on the setup. The QR code being on the pull tab concerns me if there’s ever a need to reconnect/register
I still haven't found out how to set up without qr
Will these work well with baseboard heaters. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to add them upstairs
It really doesn’t matter what kind of heating system you have as long as they are Nest thermostat controlled. Hope this helps.
You're asking the wrong question

How far can the temperature sensor be from the nest thermostat? Are they connected by wifi or Bluetooth?

50’ feet
QR code is also inside the back battery cover

This only works in Canada and US. Unfortunately, I didn't know this. Money wasted.
