- Newport summers will forever consist of relaxing at Easton’s or Bailey’s Beach, catching the swell at Second Beach, attending Cars & Coffee, and cruising Ocean Drive. Convertibles, woody wagons, samba buses, microcars, vintage scooters, surfboards, and local art galleries have epitomized summer fun for decades, and we want you to relive those memories and celebrate the sweet rides of summer here at Audrain.
The 1963 Volkswagen Transporter allows you to bring all of your friends and their surfboards while cruising in style. What fun to drive the gloriously impractical top-less red 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta V12 roadster on Ocean Drive. Or take on the rugged Rhode Island coast in the 2024 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, the ultimate off-road supercar, dressed in the color Rosso Arancio.

Founded in 2014 in Newport, Rhode Island with a mission of "Preserving, Celebrating & Sharing Automotive History," the Audrain Automobile Museum connects and engages our local and international communities to educate, enlighten and entertain with a calendar of exhibitions, programs, and car events, including the Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week.

Great stuff in the new summer exhibition! Hopefully, there is a Meyers Manx or a variation of the classic dune buggy in the exhibition! Well done! Back in the day, I used to sport the navy blazer, pink shirt, club tie and shorts! Going to try it again and see if my wife approves! Go Donald and the Audrain, keep moving forward!

Contrary to popular belief, the Model T could be purchased in a few different colors between 1908 and 1914 and 1925 and 1927.
@@AudrainMuseumNetwork True and also true that driving black vehicles makes you appear 20 lbs slimmer, smarter and sexier 😹 Although in 1908 the Model T was not available in black, but rather only in gray, green, blue, and red. Green was available for the touring cars, town cars, coupes, and Landaulets. Gray was available for the town cars only and red only for the touring cars. 🦊

Remember freshman year at URI in 1974, one of the guys on my floor in Fayerweather Hall, Steve…??? who later raced in the SCCA, took a few of us down Minesterial Road (RI 110) from near campus on RT 138 to RT1 in Matunuck. He hit over 100 mph on 110 at some points in his 65-66 is Mustang coupe. Aptly named road,
all of us got some religion on that ride!
