- Anxious, nervous, excited, all the emotions! I recently won a 192k mile RS4 off of Cars and Bids, and took delivery of it last week. Very excited for the videos coming up, and very quickly falling in love with this car!

Thankful for Trent and Pawinn - I had forgotten about the voice over for quite some time until I saw it again on a Tik Tok recently. I had an idea stem from that and my boys help make it a reality!

@@IgnitionTube watched the intro twice! Congrats on the car! I've wanted an RS4 for the longest time. Took a detour with a B8.5 S4 and a B8.5 RS5 after that, but the RS4 haunts my thoughts. Bucket list car for sure. Looking forward to the content.

I sold one, missed it and I wish i never sold it, because I did all the maintenance and it had 63k miles when I sold it. Bought another one few weeks ago :)

Great video 🤙 the b7 RS4 is such a Fantastic machine, Congratulations! It looks really clean for 192k miles. My current daily is a 08 Imola Yellow RS4 and absolutely love motoring it through the back roads or across the interstate with the hammer down. Enjoy that RS4 🤙

Great video!!! Out of the heaps of B7 RS4 content that I have viewed, this video was quality, maybe it was the Clarkson intro - Well Done and Congrats. Can not believe how clean that car is, I have a Silver version with a lot less mileage about 90,000 (and it has lived it's life in the Aussie heat) so I am well aware of how well they stand up to time and the elements at least I know that mine should still look the goods after another 100k. Look forward to more on this wonderful piece of automotive art.

Man this makes me miss my B7 S4. same color & same interior as that RS4. loved the sound of the V8 especially after an exhaust with piggy pipes, and I can imagine the RS4 sounds even better. Really looking forward to see what you do with it.

I'm so excited for you brother. There is a special place in my heart for the b7 RS4. Back in 2009, I bought a B6 S4 I had been lusting after since it was released. The owner of my local shop had bought an rs4 and supercharged it. He would have it parked up front in the showroom. I just remember looking at the front end and wheel arches and just being awestruck. Few cars have ever made me feel that way exotics included. Enjoy it brother I'm looking forward to the new content. Oh and fire intro ✌

Exhaust sounds great on that RS4. Nothing like shifting a great sounding v8 yourself.
Oh, and that third gear grind is a common issue with those transmissions. At least the 6 speeds that came in the B6 and B7 A4,S4,RS4 at higher mileages. My B6 A4 with stage 3+ power has been doing that for the last 30k it has 222,240k miles now.
It’s a ‘indicator’ that the car has been loved a whole lot lol. Expect second gear to be ready to pop out come cold winters too.
Go to JHM get yourself a rebuild kit and have a shop rebuild it synchronizers, detent balls and may as well get stiffer shifter bushings as well.
If you want to skip just fully depress the clutch like down to the floor and that grid should be less pronounced. This issue in my opinion is caused by previous owner shifting aggressively and not fully clutching. It’s manageable though.

My money is on a worn synchro ring for 3rd/4th gear. Quite common on the B6/7 gearboxes!
I changed my synchro ring on my B6 avant, but the 1st/2nd gear ring. It did the same as yours, snatched when going into gear, then it got worse and would 'lock' in 2nd gear if you came to a stop in 2nd. After a while, mine totally lost 2nd gear with no drive as the teeth on the synchro ring just wore/broke away.
Fixed it myself in the garage at home, cost me £100 with parts from Audi. You have to be comfortable stripping boxes down though! Then it's getting the preload shim washers right when rebuilding. It's doable DIY though!

I'm sure someone in the comments already said it but the first RS car we received was the C5 RS6. The RS4 was the first RS manual we got stateside though! Awesome car, I owned an Imola RS4 for a number of years and it was an awesome car for sure.

Nice. Reminds me of my phantom black pearl 2007 S4 with the rare DTM package bumpers, skirts/door blades, and CF spoilers. Its high rev V8 sounded awesome with Fast Intensions exhaust.

i had a 2007 B7 s4 also in dolphin grey, and my car with only 60k miles also had the same exact 2nd to 3rd gear grind.
a lot of nostalgia watching this video.

Welcome to the RS community! I have a B8.5 RS5 and we know it's not the fastest or quickest, but the NA V8 has so much soul and character. Have owned previous Audis and have driven much faster cars. The RS5 is my favorite. Also loved the RS4!
It’s still very fast mate and a very, very nice motor! I’m going for a RS3 next and yes it hasn’t got a V8 in it but at least it has half a v10 lol 👍

First of all, Iam so jealous of you. I parted with my b6 manual s4 avant about 2 years ago now... the platform just didnt have the speed. That being said Ive loved the rs since the day it hit our shores... still kind of slow compared to other things you could buy/ mod but they sound awesome and at least the rs is decently quick! Iam happy for you! When we all sat in live stream weeks ago and you didnt like any of my ideas I thought I was going to be bored by your new project... but this is a nice, unexpected surprise. Iam happy for you dude! Anyways the color is Phantom Black ( pretty sure? )

Phantom black and it's not the first RS car that we've gotten in the states. The C5 RS6 was.
I would look into re aligning the shifter linkage. Very common on Audi manual transmissions to become misaligned if you slam gears hard. It won't cost anything and might be worth looking into.
Had the same issue on mine. Very cheap fix if it is shift linkage related. Sometimes the bushings wear out and need to be replaced. Causes the same exact grind on 5th and 6th gear 9n mine. I would check that ua-cam.com/video/HPiUTCKWJJQ/v-deo.html
New Zealand July 2021, I found the right RS4, a 2006 4 dr daytona grey, with all the RS features. Near Mint.
I had a paddle shift 2014 S6 wagon...yawn...month after purchase S6 I took a mates Rs4 for a whip, I sold S6 and waited since...
RS4 with the 6speed manual, it the purest form of driving.
Im restoring the entire car back to showroom quality.

Congrats! Actually I have a similar cars combo as your. I had a C7.5 S6 couple years ago, and I upgraded it to a D4.5 S8 Plus. Then I got the B7 RS 4 to join the garage witn the S8.
Is it weird I kinda miss your GTI? I still love hot hatchbacks to this day. I started watching your channel since then. Nice find but 200k on an Audi makes me nervous 🤣. Can’t wait to see what you do with this!
Spot on about a cool car to have car. I always thought about one of those but never tried bc of the price and maintenance costs. That V8 sound in an Audi makes it stand out. B7 body is what made me love Audi’s

That RS4 exterior does look mint!! I’m having the same issue with my b8.5 S4 my third gear synchro is also bad. Got that same grinding noise going into 3rd.
