Interesting story behind a Monster High OC I made. I had a terrible fear of mirrors for most of my life because I watched this one movie where this girl's reflection comes out of the mirror, ruins the girl's reputation, and then traps her in the mirror. I no longer fear that happening to me, but mirrors can still trigger anxious and depressed thoughts. That's when I decided to create Mariana Tudor, daughter of Bloody Mary. That way, I would associate mirrors with her and how non-threatening she was (as is the case for most Monster High characters) and imagine her looking at me from the mirror, just checking in on me and making sure I'm okay. I also made the character a photographer who could find beauty in anyone and anything, so she would also be a friend that could boost my confidence. My fear of mirrors has continued to decrease since (except in extreme cases where I'm already in a bad mood).
I was a teenager in the 2010s and while I wasn't into Monster High yet at that point, I was an avid My Little Pony collector. So I can confirm that collectors knew you could get store displays, I definitely saw posts from collectors who got some of the pony ones!
I still have a monster high locker, where if you pressed a button on it, it'd play the OG monster high theme! I also had a monster high password diary as a kid where you had to set a voice password, and inside it had an invisible pen and black light!
I had the door hanging light up skullette! I put it on my door to scare my brother away from it. i also had the sticker fashion book, I made a monster high oc recently. she's a version of my main sona but in monster high, and she's the daughter of the demon furfur. She's a yellow deer girl with bat wings. she likes rock music and lies for fun. slay tbh
The facts from the lisi Harrison books aren’t actually canonical to our Monster high , her story is kinda like an alternate timeline type deal ? But yeah a lot of the things the other set for her version of the characters don’t apply to the og monster high characters :)

You can buy secondhand dolls for great deals if you diligently continue searching. Definitely worth getting them! They are the love of my life lol they are very inspiring

My daughters had many of those MH items which I purchased from stores like Big Lots, Tuesday morning, Marshall, Ross , Burlington, Christmas tree shop, and TJ Maxx. Unfortunately we lost everything in a fire about 2 years ago so I purchased these items again. Now their room and study area is gemstone unicorn theme. My oldest daughter is searching for some items as her room is dark academic.

When you brought up the 13 wishes game, that brought me back, there's four versions of the game I know of, but there's a weird thing about them. So the game was on 3ds, wii, wii u, and the original ds. The weird thing was, for 3ds, wii and wii u, the game was identical across them all, same levels, layouts and the way the progression worked, but something went wrong when it came to the ds, instead of the sprawling free roam and incredible looking levels from the other consoles, the ds version was a 2.5D side scroller with a much different layout of the hub world, seriously you can look up footage from both versions and see the difference so clearly. But I didn't have that one, I have the 3ds version, I still have my cartridge for it too, I play it sometimes still, even if the combat isnt great sometimes.
Update: I got later into the video and saw the electric pets segment, I have the Neptuna! I believe I got it from a lot, had no idea it was decently rare!
I found the mummy maker in a free store near my hometown. I’ve debated opening it and making them for years but sometimes I just like to stare at it lol.
Idk if this would be a rare peace of merch that I have but it's probably a pretty random/uncommon accessory, it's called "FIERCE BIB NECKLACE"💀,I got it yesterday actually💀, it's still in its packaging, oh and I should mention it's an accessory for people, not the dolls obviously

i have the icoffin!! i remember being obsessed with it as a kid bc the whole slide out keyboard was just. so cool to me, so when i found one on ebay for 25 dollars i immediately bought it and it still works! also just remembered i had these transmitter things too and they still work??? somehow??? i have not turned them on in like 8 years and not only are the batteries not dead but they also have the date correct too??

I had the iCoffin. It was honestly sort of fun but got pretty repetitive when you played the different characters. Also, the books (I think I only read the first one) definitely had nothing to do with the OG characters. All I can remember was that one POV was of a new girl at the school.
As someone who owns all the books, nah. There was 1 human family, but all the other characters were the same. The other other addition is that we got a lot of dialogue for the mainline monsters' parents.
There was an old mobile game i forgot what it was called but you needed mini figures to play it, you sat them on your screen & you could play as the characters. I had or have most of them i believe they had draculaura, frankie, clawdeen & lagoona. Idk what the game was called but does anyone know what I'm talking about?? Edit: I FOUND THEM it was a game using a feature called Apptivity, & the game was called Finders Creepers. They were VERY similar to the figures at 10:29, but they had different bases & didn't have Abbey
I am the proud owner of two official Monster High plates and one official Monster High bowl. And no they're not plastic, they're actually glass! Also, I had to snatch them very sneakily. Because while they WERE originally mine, after I immigrated abroad, the rest of my family back over in my home country started using them as dog food dishes for their dog 😭 so literally picture in your head, a bordercollie-type dog eating from official Monster High plates and bowls 😭😭
Wait I have two of the mini figs abby and Draculaura they look different then the ones with back drops or what ever....so I worked at toys r us in Kansas and we had to destroy all of our displays cut out standees doll displays and so on so seeing some of the things that could have been destroyed in displays makes me cry I unfortunately didn't start working there till the last year of them.being open but we were not allowed to take any displays I tried I watched a my little pony display get crushed ok I love me some pinkie pie ok so it hurt a lil( A LOT ok it killed me a lot ) lol so I'm glad to see not every display was destroyed a Lil ray of hope I guess lol long live we monster
From sold listing on Mercari I've seen it go for anywhere between 120$ to 250$ depending on the condition. One even sold for 420$ 0-0 Although 250 seems to be the average if it works!
Hey I would not recommend getting any of the monster high games on the ds. They are not at all the same as the wii versions and they honestly just suck.b I was never able to get past the first few levels because of numerous glitches in the 13 wishes ds game. The 3ds version is better if you have the console for it since they are more similar to the wii versions but they are still not very good....and this is coming from someone who bought all of them 😅
