@@bendover04 Because people should evaluate statements purely based on the value of the statements, rather than the perceived authority (popularity) of the person who made the statements, and using "ok random guy..." in that manner is just a weird way to dismiss a statement based on who made the statement (in this case because they aren't a popular Mr. Streamer).

Not really, Alkaizer tried both Ubers on a 1-link Boneshatter Jugg in SC to simulate Ruthless and it took him 10 minutes per kill, roughly. Died once on Eater, 0 on Exarch.
He would've probably killed them if he didn't die to that reflect map and quit. You don't need broken builds to kill them, just good defense.
@@PhOeNiXCrEw93you cant simulate the parts of ruthless that make it hard... the lack of links clearly isnt an issue here... its the lack of movement for one that makes it extremely hard

The track is The Painful Way from Hades. That specific section happens around 3:30. Didn't remember exactly what song from the Hades OST it was, so I had to check

@@DuK-2102 xdd, nobody is “crying” about logout script, it is just extra turbo lame. Either take time and progress slower by taking extra precautions, or stop acting like playing hardcore is some sort of service to the community and a godlike achievement

Yes. As long as you can get a character tanky enough to consistently survive the meteorphase, then dmg is pretty irrelevant in this fight.
@@asdadfafafafffallslsldd8068dmg is never irrelivant... theres a big difference between a 5 minute fight and a 10 minute fight, the longer the fight goes the more opportunities you have to screw up and tank something your character cant survive
@@surr3ald3sign Obviously. Just replying to confirm that it's possible without the crucible tree. And that fight in particular is much more of a tank test than a dps test. If you can't tank 2 balls you can't do the fight basically. I personally find it almost impossible to not get hit by any meteors.
crucible totem explode is the only build we were prolly able to do this.

People have been doing this in literally every arpg hardcore for like 25 years lol
Path of exile was never developed properly to be balanced for hardcore play, so there are lots of actually unavoidable things that can kill you, and in softcore that isnt an issue bc you can just run back. Unfortunately though this is the case in EVERY rpg with a hardcore option, its just flat out the strongest defence possible. So i will say it is fully playable without doing it, its just not fun bc you always have to worry about being oneshot by an offscreen enemy that could ruin days or weeks of progression to something that you couldnt have avoided

Yes? Thats the single best defence for a HC character, a logout macro. This has been the case for years and is the sole reason that most streamers and youtubers dont play HC, bc its the only way to reasonably play HC at end game level bc of the sheer amount of dumb bs that you cannot avoid that will kill you

actually got Gigagear for ruthless hcssf
either GGG created totems specifically for this race to be possible, or Chris went completely off the rails.
This guy rolled the tankiest ascendancy in the game, had almost 6k life, 89% fire res, over 150k armor and used one of the most broken builds in history, and still would've been dead several times if not for logout script. He did a great job, but that doesn't change the fact that this whole race is the epitome of bullshit

as a fairly new player and getting trolled by teammates to do this fight in non harcore with movement skills i quit ass soon as i saw the ball face
fracturing shard feels way more common in ruthless for some reason..
I think as a way to compensate lack of regular drops, some normally rare things are easier to find in R. Prime example being catalysts, metamorphs drop basically nothing else but shit ton of catalysts. Which also means you can actually use them on whites to influence weights, which you don't do in normal game as other methods are better and cheaper

Why no movement skills to dodge the balls?
Well my friend, thats bc ruthless removes almost all movement skills AND all movement speed modifiers. For instance there is no quicksilver flask, and onslaught no longer gives movement speed being 2 very common examples

I find it so stupid that we have to rely on a broken build (that'll get deleted next league) to do this in Ruthless... If this build didn't exist, nobody would've been able to finish this. I hope people bring that up in the exilecon QA panel.

Boneshatter almost did it as well but I completely agree with you. The fact that if you want to participate in the race you're kinda locked into 1-3 builds. I'm not saying there's a ton of variety in the ssf hc race but there's more than 2 builds.
@@johnnyc2975thats how EVERY race ever has been... 1-3 top builds that dominate the leaderboard top 100 that has ALWAYS been how races perform, in fact thats how the regular game performs too 1-3 meta builds that top the charts and then 5-10 secondary builds that dont do quite as a well but can still handle endgame

You do realise that in those cases where he has to log out, that happens in less than 1/4 of a second, you have less than 1/4 of a second to press that button or your character is gone (nah edit *1/5 of a second tops)

ill never understand why people think HC is interesting its literally oh im in danger instalog off whereas on normal you would just die theres literally no difference other than oops your character is gone but you are basically cheating the entire time with log offs so whats the point?
You have never played hardcore with logout yourself, yet you find yourself knowledgeable enough to write this garbage of a wall
There isnt a point... this has been the issue with poe hc since day one, the real problem is that poe was never developed properly for hc play so there are LOTS of things that can outright oneshot you that are actually, literally unavoidable. Such as oldschool exploding enemies (cant remember what the modifier was called but it was changed to the fire orbs that follow you before exploding) they used to explode in a really big aoe the milisecond they died so if you got, for example, a quad dmg rare mob and you killed it the explosion would instantly go off and oneshot your character and there was literally nothing you could do to avoid it bc it was an instantanious effect. And while they have fixed some of those kinds of issues there are still way too many to allow you to play a legit hc character without log out abuse
Its BS i don't call this a kill he logged out to avoid an ability killing mechanic he couldn't get out of came back and killed it technically he died is a cheating kill i call this a FAIL.

@@surr3ald3sign I think you need to look up the definition of literally because others have beaten him with out explode totems on ssf ruthless without dying so they could have done it on hardcore. So yes it is possible.
Logging out before death can't be considered a win. He was about ready to bite it, then logs out before getting killed, not a win in my book, sorry.
