I think my favorite aspect of this video by far, aside from the cowboy bit, is the spookometer check-ins. It's cool to hear how you felt and _why_ you felt that way in the creepier moments.
I can say for sure that Danny *did* indeed have a visit from the haberdashery ghost, as at 25:10 you can see Danny convincing himself to buy that gift shop shirt... And then later one of the hotel's hats. A+ work, haberdashery ghost
I think that’s what made Buzzfeed Unsolved so successful. Their show was more based around the two host’s banter as a believer and a skeptic rather than the evidence itself. So even if they didn’t find anything, the episodes were still fun and interesting to watch. They’re also respectful of the places they go to, and they treat their audience like adults instead of children, letting us create our own opinion on whether or not ghosts are real. (Edit: the replies reminded me to promote their new show “Ghost Files” on Watcher, if anyone is interested.) The only thing that made Shane Dawson’s ghost hunting content tolerable for a little while was when Drew and Garett were there, because it brought in that fun banter. It didn’t feel so serious and campy, more like friends just goofing off.
The Buzzfeed Unsolved guys are still going on "ghost hunting" adventures over at Watcher. Ghost Files (their new show) feels like they're giving the audience a voice with their opinions/experiences more than Buzzfeed Unsolved.
Yeah, I talked about it in my own comment. I honestly don't know for a 100% sure fact that Ryan even believes in ghosts and such, and if he does, he plays it up 1000%. Personally, I can tell you that the *entire* draw is Shane making fun of him kkkkkkk
The reason the housekeeper stays there because ghosts haunt the places where they were happiest. They really enjoyed blowing up the building so much that they decided to stay around to remind people.

I'm really glad you decided to call out Ghost Adventures. In a recent season, they came to my town and "investigated" the death of a woman without asking permission from her family. Her daughter had to make a yt video saying that her mother did not die because of demonic possession, she was on drugs and fell over a concrete slab into a creek. They also talked to an elderly man about our town's "demons" and this man has dementia. They exploited him for their story. I used to watch them with my family all the time but now our whole town despises the GA team. Edit: how the fuck did someone make this into a vegan propaganda message. Also, the video is now private but if you look up "Biggs Ghost Adventures Daughter", the first article recites and refers to the video I've mentioned here. Links usually make comments disappear so I can't post it on here :/
Ouija board works on ideomotor effect -The ideomotor phenomenon is a psychological phenomenon wherein a subject makes motions unconsciously. Also called ideomotor response (or ideomotor reflex) emf in a room where there r transmitters (phone, wifi, cell tower signal, laptop) will interfere with emf in a random pattern. the infrared scales r also very unreliable in uncontrolled environment as when u touch or step on the wall, floor respectively ,the temperature changes bc of human body's heat, its also works on the chair, one which has been sat for few minutes. also ghost r not real ,if they were then every non human animals u have paid to kill for ur temporary taste pleasure would have came and haunted u everyday. Edit- thanks 😎 for making me in to a some of kind of propagandist. I personally just wrote the last sentence not even consciously thinking about veganism ,i was thinking of a easy rebuttal of existence of ghost that's it But some people feel guilty inside for something they do ,they know what they do is wrong but can't bring themselves to stop doing it ,they can think of that particular topic where the topic was not even mentioned nor there was any intention to,having some proximity to that topic is enough to trigger those people's minds. Its like having a hammer 🔨 , then everything looks like a nail .

I used to go to Estes fairly often (several times a year) and got to know an employee at another Estes Park business. She used to clean the Stanley hotel. She said she never saw anything or heard anything. HOWEVER! She was cleaning a room once and suddenly got a horrible leg cramp that made her fall (which caused a giant thud) and cry out in pain. She then heard several screams outside the room. Turns out a ghost tour was happening at the time and everyone on the tour was convinced they'd heard a ghost. If I remember correctly, she didn't say anything else and just let them think they'd heard a ghost.

I stayed in the Stanley Hotel last month, the burgers were fucking amazing. The chefs were possessed by an old eldritch god that had about 37500 years of experience, and it was really just a delight. 10/10, would recommend. Edit: I don’t personally get all the ghost talk, I’ve lived by the Stanley hotel and ones like it for over 1200+ years, and I haven’t seen a thing! That just goes to show how much personal opinions differ from popular opinions.
The part about staff pulling pranks made me think of an old friend who told me about his buddies who kept trying to prank a film crew that was filming a movie or something in their neighborhood. The behind the scenes stuff had the crew telling ghost stories about equipment that would disappear and stuff, but these kids has just stolen it or moved it around
When i was in highschool i worked at one of the elementary schools during the summer cleaning everything and fixing things as my first job. My mom worked at that school during the regular schoolyear. It’s dramatic because all stuff about paranormal activity is fake, what else are they gonna do for entertainment if there not dramatic? “Guys I heard the floor crack it could be a ghost but most likely in actuality it was probably a rat or the fact that this house is 200 years old😳”

As someone who have watched Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventure, and Buzzfeed Unsolved, I must say the perspective of watching Danny's eyes and larger-than-life nose is a indeed a breath of fresh air in ghost hunting documentaries.
My dad stayed at the Stanley once. He got one of the "haunted" rooms. Said he heard voices and realized the door wasn't shut all the way and there was a staff outside talking... So he scratched the door and they stopped talking and walked away fast. I wonder how many times that's happened with other staff?
My sister and her friends stayed there for her birthday when she was like 12 and they had a terrifying experience. In the middle of the night they heard the sound of something at their window and a bunch of scratching. A raccoon broke into their room and scared the shit out of all of them. So if like 15 years ago you heard a bunch of screaming kids in the middle of the night at the Stanley you now have an explanation.
@@wyattearp910 Yea, but they actually point out how many of these locations market themselves as haunted, maybe how much the overnight filming/tour costs, showing them at daytime, no spooky music, etc. Someone should do it.
The high quality interview segments are funny to me because I imagine Danny trying to be serious interviewing someone but not being able to be taken seriously
Seeing footage of Danny’s face from that above shot was high key the one thing that got me EVERY TIME. Him sniffing the floor with that camera angle threw me 😂
That one woman with the coin story is obviously a very strong believer in ghosts but she seems nice so I'm glad that Danny didn't do anything to really disregard or disprove her story
I like how she then casually mentions using a Ouija board as if ghosts moving stuff around to tell her stuff is a normal occurance. A ghost using that board would convince me 10x more of them then some random coin lol.
Scariest thing in this video was the GoPro shots of Danny's face. I would honestly love if you made more videos like this, sorta debunking haunted spots. Really interesting concept!
This is literally me. Ghosts are totally bullshit and totally don't exist. Yet I'm still scared out of my mind when I need to go pee in the middle of the night.
Imagine a horror movie where a vlogger stays at a haunted hotel, but instead of having spooky ghost shenanigans, they start to find out how many stories are fabricated, and the hotel workers become increasingly desperate to scare them, eventually resulting in a deadly game of cat (workers) and mouse (vlogger) :0
I am so down for a series where Danny visits more supposedly haunted places and gives an honest account. Given how freaked he was when he rented the Airbnb to be his "cousin's" house, I'm sure he's sensitive enough to actually encounter something, but having him going around and debunking claims is epic.
What I love about how "oh so scary" the Stanley Hotel is, is the fact that all the hauntings the staff told me about are all super friendly ghosts. Like the owner helped a guy who was freaking out on his wedding, there's a bi-sexual french guy in the basement, a lady gets pissed if unmarried couples room together and packs their shit sometimes, and all the ghosts kinda just chill smoke cigars and play pool together.
There is for sure at least one truly haunting thing in this video, and that's that downwards shot of Danny's face (as featured at 3:03) that makes him look like the most insane drug-fueled cartoon. Truly awe inspiring.
This is such an untapped market for great comedy. If someone just went around debunking and making fun of all of this haunted stuff I would watch it non stop.
you can there’s a lot of episodes of buzzfeed unsolved supernatural. ryan is a believer but shane makes fun of EVERYTHING and jokes around when they go to the locations a lot. it’s hilarious and now they make ghost files at Watcher instead of buzzfeed
@@Rigatony It depends on the spirit as some might be okay with it, and maybe better unanswered but people wonder what it's like but I've never seen anyone ask. When you get some spirits who are willing to communicate in a good way, finding out how they feel would be good to know as maybe they might not like it and want help to move on but are stuck.
That the housekeeper blew up part of the hotel and _just_ broke her ankles is insane to me. I appreciate that Danny, like Ryan and Shane, thought a goood way to lure out ghosts was to poorly pretend to be from the past. And I really enjoy Danny riffing on his past self.
I love watching those paranormal shows because of how dramatized they are. The only one I really love is Buzzfeed Unsolved Supernatural/True Crime, because Ryan and Shane do their research and actually seem pretty genuine, even if they might not be, which is nice.
@@nottoostellar4630 I wasn’t sure abt that because it seemed like the program wanted to make their adventures more eventful since usually nothing happens and honestly the preview seemed Rlly forced to me like they wanted Shane to play into the ghost stuff more, it just seemed more fake to me and less genuine
This is one of my comfort videos, so I've seen it countless times now. And each time without fail at precisely 22:15, a small part of me hopes that Danny is about to insert a surprise transition to a half-country half-hyper-pop ballad about ghost hunting
Danny only getting scared once the lights were off is like watching a horror movie in the day with someone and trying to get to the toilet alone at night
My brother helps edit and film a ghost show. One thing he pointed out is that a lot of the rooms in some of the old buildings are *extremely* dusty, and it can be difficult to convey to the viewers. What appears to be a "shadow figure" could likely be a plume of dust with the indoor air currents.
@@qtfoxe I remember him saying most of the time there was a plausible explanation for some things. There was a possibility of some of the groundskeepers were messing around with them in certain areas. He said there were a handful of instances that he didn't have a good explanation for. For example, at a large abandoned hotel - they distinctly heard high-heels the floor above. He was pretty sure nobody else was in the hotel. Soon after they go up, they saw nothing. It's still pretty scary going to places like an abandoned woodmill in the middle of the night - even if ghosts do not exist. I would appreciate if the theatrics of ghost shows were treated more like magicians - a bunch of illusions. I might actually like a "MythBusters" of ghost shows - where they try to avoid pseudoscience. Maybe they *try* to scare some people, but we see the tricks they use. I really don't like seeing "ghost devices" that haven't been taken apart independently, and only exist to "hunt for ghosts." For all I know, some executive producer could have control over it via radio. I remember my brother saying they tested some devices, and they would still be hyper-sensitive in "normal" areas. And yet, those devices add more drama, and leaving the viewer to speculate leaves them on the edge of their seat, and they'll find out what happens... right after this commercial break™
@@milestailprower Have you watched Shane and Ryan on Watcher ghost files? and before that on buzzfeed unsolved network? i only watch seasons 1-3 of Ghost Adventures bc after that they started faking everything and just started going to places that people were like "I mean it might be haunted". before they went to knowingly haunted places.
I've wanted someone to take ghost tools to a really normal location where nothing paranormal happens and see if you see the same "indicators" as a control test. Like a grocery store or a library
@Charlie Davison Well you're not wrong, but it doesn't actually disprove it like you say because you'd really have to be able to prove that your control tests were actually control tests, and you can't really do that without some way of knowing for sure that there's no ghosts in your area. I mean, for all we know there's literally ghosts everywhere and there's nowhere on earth you can go that is ghost free. It's not even that unreasonable of a theory given how many people have died in all of history. Well... not unreasonable given the assumption that ghosts are in any way real which is a mighty big assumption. That said, I've always wondered how exactly ghosts are expected to make use of a spirit box. If I'm some random blue collar worker that died (40 years later) in an explosion, and I'm sitting there being a ghost and someone pulls out a spirit box, how exactly am I supposed to figure out how to manipulate my electromagnetic spectrum to make the spirit box make the words I want it to make? I'd feel lucky to make it make literally any noise at all, much less exactly the noise I wanted it to make.
@@samuelmargarella8691 right? Like, I doubt there are spirit how to videos in the afterlife (presuming there is one), maybe you just get given a "how to be a ghost" manual at death? I think the instinct to sniff wet carpet comes from owning pets lol. It’s the “do I need to deal with this, or did somebody just spill some water?” question

The hotel staff i talked to there are like “yep all of the ghost crews that come thru are great EXCEPT FOR ZAK BAGANS” because he definitely pranked the staff and would jump scare tour groups and was just a general nuisance
The housekeeper ghost story is actually a brilliant move by the hotel, because if a housekeeper is seen cleaning the room, then it's written off as just a housekeeper doing their job and doesn't disprove anything, but if they happen to not be seen, then the hotel can claim it was a ghost.

(Edit: the replies reminded me to promote their new show “Ghost Files” on Watcher, if anyone is interested.)
The only thing that made Shane Dawson’s ghost hunting content tolerable for a little while was when Drew and Garett were there, because it brought in that fun banter. It didn’t feel so serious and campy, more like friends just goofing off.

My brother helps edit and film a ghost show. One thing he pointed out is that a lot of the rooms in some of the old buildings are *extremely* dusty, and it can be difficult to convey to the viewers. What appears to be a "shadow figure" could likely be a plume of dust with the indoor air currents.
out of curiosity, has he ever experienced anything at these 'haunted' locations that he shoots at?
And yet, those devices add more drama, and leaving the viewer to speculate leaves them on the edge of their seat, and they'll find out what happens... right after this commercial break™

i want an hour long video of danny saying his thoughts while in bed, and then a night vision camera watching him say these thoughts while in a bed
YES THANK YOU I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING
The video we didn't know we needed until now
Yes and he should put it on his gaming channel as it seems redundant nowadays
oh literally i’d kill for it

i only watch seasons 1-3 of Ghost Adventures bc after that they started faking everything and just started going to places that people were like "I mean it might be haunted". before they went to knowingly haunted places.
I've wanted someone to take ghost tools to a really normal location where nothing paranormal happens and see if you see the same "indicators" as a control test. Like a grocery store or a library
I've always wanted someone to do this, i mean, people die all over. Someone died in a restaurant close to me by choking to death... do it there!
who’s to say the grocery store isn’t haunted
@@Moose-boots what the person means is to test out the ghost tools somewhere normal to see if the tools react the same as they do in a “haunted place”
In which case, I call bullshit cause that is unfair, why don't we get a "how to human" manual at birth? That would have saved me so much time lol
I think the instinct to sniff wet carpet comes from owning pets lol. It’s the “do I need to deal with this, or did somebody just spill some water?” question
I couldn’t agree more that’s what I was thinking
pets or small children in the house 😂😂 i've never had a 'free range' pet (only insects and rodents) but i've definitely smelled the carpet before to make sure there was no unreported accident
MUAHAHAHAAA I AM THE ONE THOUSANDTH LIKE
I love the idea that this hotel's staff all have ghost stories that were just other staff members pranking them
Let's be honest we all remember this video
@@thenostalgafactor1200 DONT READ MY NAMES..😑..
The hotel staff i talked to there are like “yep all of the ghost crews that come thru are great EXCEPT FOR ZAK BAGANS” because he definitely pranked the staff and would jump scare tour groups and was just a general nuisance
@@TheLaurenJC what??? English??
The housekeeper ghost story is actually a brilliant move by the hotel, because if a housekeeper is seen cleaning the room, then it's written off as just a housekeeper doing their job and doesn't disprove anything, but if they happen to not be seen, then the hotel can claim it was a ghost.
