haha yeah man, I actually left the Pelican open with the unmolested foam for months in my lounge, just visualising what could be put in there and how it would fit it before I stared to remove the foam. I set it up the day before the tour and it turned out just like it did in my mind!
Love this! Would love to see the current rig rundown. Was thinking of running a helix stomp w the quilter od similar to kurt ballou live rig. How do you guys do it with the smaller stage w stage sound? Do you power cabs?
hey bro! thanks heaps, I will do a current run down soon :D. So we always have powered cabs if we can, the rack Kempers you see there are the 600W powered models and the bass head is also powered. We've brought 3 of the new*ish* Kemper profile player pedals and using them with the Seymour duncan power stage 170. That way we can take the power amp to the shows we need it and leave it at home for the shows we dont. We stayed Kemper because we already have the tones and know the system. The rack was also overkill considering we never profiled anything ever lol and we also use 1 tone for the whole set so the 3 Player profile buttons are also 2 too many :D. Hope that helped!
This is an awesome rig man. Really well thought out, nice custom cabling. AVB and those SquarePlug SP550s 😙👌Have you played many rooms where the Dante would come in handy or is it more just futureproofing (and because you can/building this shit is fun)?
Hey bro thanks for that! I will do a rig down of the top half in the back there is ALOT of custom cables back in there. AVB with motu is awesome, I have a crazy plan for A new stage box using the 8m and a 1248 and their outputs sent to a Cymatic track 24 for recording and use the Motu AVB ultra lite to run the IEMs. Which leaves the b16 out of the system. Regarding the Square plug TRS i dont recommend them, they look good in theory and the TS works good but the TRS is not great, if you touch them on the combo jack input they make noise, Ill be switching my 8m inputs to the witchcraft low profile XLRS. I dont have a alternative for the 8 TRS square plugs feeding the IEM signals out of the 8m but I want to 3d print some parts for this rig and I have a plane to clean up that area along with mounting the AVB router on a 3d printed bracket. I havent played a room with Dante or maybe I have, i just saw the presnosus AVB to Dante converter and got stars in my eyes for the 1 out of 100 times I'll ever use it lol. I also maybe wanted to use the converter with my Cymatic Utrack 24 with a dante expansion card, but since it's been discontinued i have no idea where to find it. ,maybe second hand. The persons converter has 2 Dante outputs, so i could use 1 output send 16 channels to the cymatic to record the live set and the Dante output 2 16 channels to FOH.
@@Luke_Manson oh man that’s a shame about the TRS Squareplugs. I use the TS ones all over my pedalboards w/Mogami 2314. They fit so snug. I’ll have to keep an eye out on the TRS ones, tho I’m only using them for stereo rather than balanced stuff. AVB seems pretty awesome and I’m kinda surprised that it hasn’t had more adoption in the interface market. Apparently the macOS drivers have a bit of latency but it seems to work great between MOTU devices. I’m sure you’ll make some sound engineer’s day one day rocking up and having them plug a single Ethernet cable into your rig instead of a dozen XLRs. Def keen to see more rundowns on this kinda kit. It’s awesome to see how people are doing it at pretty-DIY-but-big tour scale these days instead of renting a couple of 5150s and an Ampeg fridge and shoving it in a trailer.
Thanks man! They’re the SKB iSeries Injection-Molded 9" Fly Rack (3 RU) & 4RU. Beast! The 9inch is the key, the full size are too big and deep. That’s what’s she said!
Hey bro, we usually nail our mixes at band practise weeks leading up to the shows with a laptop connected, then at the show/soundcheck we can change anything with our personal phones on Motu’s App. ;)
Rad, one of the more unique set ups I’ve seen. Great explanation on how it all works.
Thanks man! Europe, UK, Japan, Aus and NZ tours under its belt and hasn't skipped a beat!
Dude this is awesome. I love how clean it is and your cable management is on point!!!
Thanks man, my latest Version 2.0 is even cooler!
This is insightful, thanks from synthesis ;)
My pleasure!
Really informative and professional. Cheers for sharing!

@Luke_Manson Thanks for the reply, and I'll keep a look out for the next one! The podcast is great too!

I like the part where you spent the entire video showing off the rig to a quick cut showing it’s almost completely different now 😂
Heh heh heh 😈 Saved the best for last!
This is sick!
Thanks for watching!
Sick vid Luke !! Quick Q, what are those rack shells ? They are super low profile, ideal for slapping in a peli, do you have a brand I can look for ?

@@Luke_Manson haha excellent, looked them up looks perfect - appreciate it !!
How do you actually mix your inears though? Connect to the mixer with tablet/phone??
Hey bro, we usually nail our mixes at band practise weeks leading up to the shows with a laptop connected, then at the show/soundcheck we can change anything with our personal phones on Motu’s App. ;)
