Thinking is the very first of four sacred affirmations that help us lead a balanced life. Wally explains how thinking is the essential step that comes before everything else.
It's like laying the foundation of a house before building it. He also talks about the other affirmations, which are planning, life, and hope.
Understand and use these affirmations, create a life to be proud of.

This man is talking about thinking in a way that has almost been completely lost within our current civilization. We learn in school to think in very narrow and linear ways in a manner that is often referred to as analysis. He is talking about something else that actually incorporates what might be called intuition, which is a dirty word in modern culture.

Not being a Native Resident...I would spend hours out riding my horse in the hills around home...I would contemplate the roles in nature and how the Greater Spirit or God is guiding us. I would watch the sky for hours...I also observed the vegetation relating to the propagation of seeds. The Great Spirit will lead us. Bless you and your family!

I am a woman and we have a different way of carrying out our responsibilities for our families. Feelings and preserving the beauty of Mother Earth are also important to me as a woman. America is in upheaval right now and these teachings are important for the rebalancing of all of us.

Thank you for these very important life lessons. I am French Canadian and Italian and these teachings are lost in my generation, our family is very far apart not just geographically, but physically and mentally as well. Back in the day, families gathered every Sunday for a traditional meal and gave everyone a chance to catch up with each other. My grandfather died when I was very young, I know my life would have been different with his guidance. I pray to him and ask for guidance in my dreams.

      Good day!
Took counseling awhile back. In speaking, I admitted: "I've no idea where I get my morals, my actions. " My upbringing was a bunch of opposite of things I value, like: the Golden Rule, the mantra of the 12 step program, the belief in Love, love of A Good Life...
The councilor, a Mennonite woman ( knowing my lineage is part indigenous) said, she" learned in her studies that indigenous peoples really do pass lessons learned through their bloodlines" ( dna? Memories?)
It helped me to try to understand myself...
At some point ( age 5) was started in bible teachings, 5th commandment? ' honor and obey parents '... was in my late 20's before I realized why going Against what parents was teaching me bothered me so?? It was this bible stuff that assumes parents, even husbands have others best interests in mind... They don't! Not always! And going Against these teachings bothered me and brought me condemnation from other religious people.
I thank The Great Spirit every time I think of these things.
I pray for 'guidance to See the right path and the sense to Take it! And I hope you're having a good day. '
      And you too .🍃🕊🍃

My first learnings of the Navajo Way was through the mystery writer Tony Hillerman, about Lt. Leaphorn and Sgt. Chee. Leaphorn is an old school cop trained to think in the White man's way and Sgt. Chee is younger and being trained to be a Singer (shaman) and having a difficult time of it. Hillerman works / writes about the balance of the two ways. Hillerman was recognized for his ability and respect of the Navajo Way in his stories. Much of what I learned through his stories is what led me to this channel and subscribing to it. Wisdom is learned through teacbing and experience. This Elder has all that. Thank you for your teaching.

I thank you so very MUCH, Sir!!! This is good empowering stuff. I may not have hardly any Native American in my current blood-line, but just like the singer John Denver, I KNOW i was at least very strongly INFLUENCED by the Native American people. Listen to John Denver's songs like "Sweet Surrender", and "The Eagle and the Hawk", and it becomes obvious that he either has a lot of Native American in his blood-line, he has studied Native American culture ( exhaustively!!! ), or he was Native American in his past life and was deeply influenced ( on a spiritual level ) by the Animal Kingdom. His music revealed that he was very strongly attuned and atoned to that spiritual aspect of existence. ... and again, thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge.
