  • In this video Navajo Historian, Wally Brown, speaks about his wife and her journey into the next world.
Sharing very tender experiences with all of you who he loves so much.
It was oct 2021 and so many of you offered your condolences and sent care packages. Those we so greatly appreciated.
Wally’s wife, Bonnie, has been behind the scenes but they say… “Behind every good man is an even better woman”. I can support that claim.
Thank you for being with us on this journey.

Grandfather Wally, I want to thank you so much for this testimony in honor of your wife. I lost my wife in 2016, and I, like you, was blessed to have been able to be at her side and holding her hand when she passed from this life, and when my wife left this world. Talking about these things are part of the healing process. You were blessed by her presence, and blessed by your memory of her. Our loves will be waiting for us when we leave our old bodies. You are in my thoughts, my prayers.

i do think for some talking about it helps. i have noticed, for others it makes them uncomfortable. But i like talking about them. They are not forgotten. They DID exist. I like remembering. It is sad sometimes, but that is just part of it.

@@andreamoore6477 at some point it becomes a necessity to talk about them for one's own mental health. I think the difficulties arise when we can't (or will not) share common/similar experiences. Community is very important.

You have blessed all of us by sharing your life with us, and made us feel like we are extended family. This generation needs to know what love is, what marriage is, what family is... What a man is, what a woman is, and why traditional values are important. You are a man of great honor. I am sure that your wife is proud of you. I wish everyone could know the great love that you share with her.

This is something I needed to hear. My mother made her journey to the next world 2 weeks ago. I never imagined my life without her. She just turned 62. I know with great confidence she’s ok with everyone she loves that have already transitioned and that she loves us more than anything in the world.

It has also been just over one year since my wife was murdered and made her journey. My mother was Dine. I was taken from her at a young age. I didn’t know where I really came from. It was a secret. My father spoke the Navajo language as a missionary. My mother was a placement student. I was their oldest child. She too has made her transition along with my dad. I feel them speak to me daily. I honor them. They prepare a way before me now. Sometimes I have to remember that beauty comes from suffering. Attitude is everything. Thank you for giving me strength with your words which are carried by a spirit of strength and truth.
