Unique & Innovative design Stevohdee! The diamond cup was interesting to see used that way too. Real nice finish on the part...nice shape on the cutting tool. I often use a radius tool bit to get the final finish too although Clickspring does it with sharp tool...who knew. Been trying to figure out how to do this and create a semi shallow parabolic shape without too much monkey motion, for a project in my noggin. Thanks for the ideas and great video! Hat Tip ~PJ
Thanks pj, I'm just about to give a 100mm cup a try, that was 75mm. Yeah clickspring is amazing hey, I'd like to know what layout die he uses, mines a bit thin. Cheers
Great video Steve, I really like your attention to details like the chamfering, and the finishing is superb. And it works like a charm, enjoyed very much, cheers!
That turned out bloody well, I have the same milling machine, and have wanted to try the grinding cup wheel things, and the mag chuck, as a poor mans surface grinder for knife blanks, the flycutter causes instant sphincter lock when the blank moves, but seeing you do it with the cup wheel, I might have to put on my big boy pants, thanks, Stevo. Scott.
Hahaha, thanks Scott, yeah it's a great alternative to a proper & somewhat expensive surface grinder. A friend used an old drill press mounted with a stone cup wheel which swung over the blank over a mag base, worked well. Cheers mate
0:04 I need that first tool to dish out/cup a 1cm. pin to solder ball bearing on end, I was gonna use carbide glass drillbit. appreciate the design process..great skill set now you can make doming block: Harbor Freight Doming Block and Punch Set, 25 Pc. $44.99
