Come to think of it... I passed through Danok 3-4 years ago. We actually wanted to explore the area north of Kelantan but the driver we were recommended came from Satun so we had to drive the long way around. When we crossed the border I thought the town was called "Sadao", but that's actually the name of the border crossing. Very interesting experience - we had to get in the rented van at the "Duty Free" place a little ways inside Malaysia, and he let us out to cross the border on foot. Looking at Google Maps - there's a "Dinosaur Park" in Danok! Only half a kilometer west of the main road.
Mad quick edit! Loved the Dragonfruit lady... Should have said 'Stuck in the Rain at White Temple because it was Ken's idea to walk' - big ups Ken was a good day!
Wow, another adventurous vlog at Danok town between the border of Thailand and Malaysia. Great of you, Ken to explore, show and share it with us. Thank you very much. I have been there twice and it was very crowded, full of Malaysian tourists. So sad to see it's quite empty now. Guess those holes along the fence were for smuggling purposes, either goods or illegal immigrants.
A very enjoyable video, dog patrolling the border, maybe to stop people looking for Roti Canai. Hahahaha. Loved it. Interaction with the locals show how friendly people are and appreciate you speaking a little of their language.
Hi Ken & friends , this is awesome , you chartered the taxi isn't that much easier to move around and the driver is happy and patiently waiting for you 👍 really miss Danok we use to go there by day trip and Malaysian people love buying fruits , comforter and all kinds of local products. The town used to be busy and full of tourists now it's empty 😢 really sad that this covid has taken over everywhere. Thanks for taking us around the town and stay safe Ken 👍
Very interesting border adventure. The vegetable at 15:50 that you took a few bites is a specis of bitter gourd. It is bitter and believed to have medicinal properties.
So I actually was distracted for a moment when you went into the rain to get your 2 temple shots and when I heard your comment, I had to go back to watch them and yes.. GREAT SHOTS of the little white temple there!!! ^_^ much appreciated effort!!! ^_^
7:35 More people from Thailand cross over to Malaysia because most daily essentials such cooking gas, diesel, petrol, cooking oil, to name a few, are cheaper in Malaysia. But fruits and "night entertainment" are definitely more and cheaper in Thailand.
A lot of the high security at the border has to do with human trafficking. A lot of the illegal immigrants (mainly from Myanmar and Bangladesh) come in through the Malaysia-Thai border, though not near major towns or official crossings like Danok or Padang Besar. There are a lot of undocumented foreign workers (mainly from Myanmar) in Thailand, as well.

VERY interesting video - apparently Pad Thai is NOT a traditional Thai dish, it was invented by a military dictator in the 1940s! Lots of interesting information about why Thai food has become known internationally (it's not accidental) and why Thai restaurants all over the world more or less have the same menu.

The smuggler make that hole.. so they can smuggle good from thailand to malaysia.. and good from malaysia to thailand.. Malaysia need like a Food ingredient from thai, cloth, tshirt, shoes , Fruit and many more.. because more cheaper in thailand.. and Thailand need like Palm oi, gasolline from Malaysia, because that item more cheaper in Malaysia..
