    I'm more curious about what you should do after a workout ? I'm afraid of breaking out if I clean up my face too often over the course of a day because of sweating too much.

      If you workout in the morning, or just in the day time in general, just wash your face with cold water. Then at night time you do your actual skincare routine

      Sweat is just water and sodium, don’t stress about it- just wash your face thoroughly at the end of the day ☺️

      yes pleeeease! Although, Hash Tag, I found that Rosehip oil has been helping a lot. But it hasn't solved the problem entirely.

      I workout in the mornings so it never occurred to me to do it. I will have to give it a try, the micellar water is something I want to try as well.

      Susan Yara I never have but I may start now. By the way the retinol from Amazon and vitamin C is working wonders on my skin. I wake up with flawless looking skin. A few people have told me that my skin is glowing. These are strangers. I always blush in amazement and say really. It’s amazing. Keep the videos coming. 🙌🏽

    Morning workout skincare:
    Micellar water cotton pad swipe.
    Rinse with Luke warm water.
    Salicylic acid toner. Spf 30 moisturizer.

    Post workout skincare, absolutely. Pte workout skincare? Unless it's spf, it's ridiculous. That's not even functional anymore. Save ur money.

    I usually workout after work. I take my makeup off with Son and Park Beauty Water then spritz with the Puyngkang Yul Mist toner, pat in and go. I don't put on SPF because I get ready for the gym at the gym and it's also evening. Afterwards I do the same thing, swipe a cotton pad of S&P BW to get the sweat off then mist. When I get home I do my full double cleanse and night time skincare routine. If it is the rare occasion I go in the morning I usually don't do anything first just leave all my night stuff on and do skincare after. When I run or cycle outside I always put on SPF.

      Kristin Tursky if u finish workout at 5 and cleanse your face after workout at 5:30 PM. You still cleanse your face at night? Around 9 PM?

    I honestly never thought of applying skin care before a workout. But it makes sense. One of the things that got my attention was the moisturizer with seaweed. I took a nutrition class a while ago. The teacher had really beautiful skin and shiny hair. One day she mentioned that she had been taking seaweed in a vitamin and that she noticed her skin and hair improved a lot and felt that was the reason why. So it was nice to see a product with seaweed as an ingredient. I'm going to have to give that and the Lancome lip plumper a try.☺

    Thank you for making this video! I had already been doing most of this in my own pregym routine , just glad to know I’m not crazy! U cannot go to the gym in the morning with an active like retinol or an acid sitting on your face from the night before!

    NONE of these expensive products work. Look at all of these celebrities who use the best products and have access to the best facialists - they still rely on Botox and filler. Their skin still sags and wrinkles and age terribly (i.e. Madonna) . Have you seen women in your families that are in their 50’s + and look amazing? Ask them what they did to keep young - it’s almost always the simplest thing - gentle cleanser, a basic moisturizer (Olay, Nivea or olive oil) and wear a hat when you go out in the sun. All of these layered products just sit on top of your skin - even though companies tell you they’re absorbed deep into the epidermis - it’s all b.s.

    Lol I dont put anything on my face before working out :/ but I definitely do my skincare afterwards. Also ladies DO NOT SKIP ON SUNCREEN!!

      Do you workout in the mornings? I work out in the morning and don’t know if I should apply my moisturizer and sunscreen before working out. I feel like it just goes to waste because I sweat.

      @@bris813. If I workout outside, I just put on sunscreen, no moisturizer. If I workout indoors, I don’t put on anything on my face.

    Missha’s sunscreens are the absolute best! And, so affordable! I use their Safe Block Essence Sun during the winter since it’s thicker and then the sun milk during the summer!

    One thing I do before a workout is heavily oil my hair! I know I am going to wash my hair after I workout (I’m a gym two-three Times a week, not daily) so I saturate the ends of my hair with Jojoba oil, let it soak in during the yoga class, and once I’m done I wash my hair and it feels hydrated and refreshed. I’ll try the skincare next time!

    B careful with skincare with fragrance (fruit oil, essential oils, parfum, etc). They can lead to fragrance sensitivities/allergies, dermatitis, or acne. Always look for fragrance free!

    I've always wondered what is the best pre and post workout skincare routine. I NEVER workout with makeup on. Unless it's Mascara but never face makeup. I workout in the late morning so when I wake up I do my normal morning routine and then after I make sure to use a gentle cleanser to get off all the dirt, sweat, and remaining spf. And then of course, moisturize. For a long time, I always thought that skincare was morning and night but didn't think about after a workout!

      So if one is exercising outdoors, especially under the tropical sun? Bare face? No sunscreen either? NOT wise.

    Sweating is not indicative of penetration of product, you need a minimum of 4-5 hrs after product application to actually it being absorbed into the skin and utilizing those active ingredients.
    I hardly think anyone spends that much time in the gym and you're gonna wash it of after, so stick to sunscreen or an oil controlling product if you dislike the shine

    I cleanse, do vit. C and sunscreen. I’ll skip the sunscreen and just go for my moisturizer and apply the sunscreen after the gym

    I love her but this is too much. I do wash my face and I do a moisturizing gel, neutropenia for example before. I do want a clean face before my pores open, dermatologists suggested this to me years ago. But all this expensive products, nooooo I’ll pass and is to me getting out of hand with the price. I’m not putting scents and fruit on my face before a workout. Don’t do scents ever if I can help it.

    I see I’m pretty late to the party… like 2 yrs late lol but I do work out at 5am so typically no sun exposure to worry about. I just recently starting applying a ceramide moisturizer before I head to the gym. I wish I would have seen this sooner! Totally thought it was bad to apply skincare before a workout.

    I do a home workout first thing in the morning when I wake up. I do skip skincare step here altogether - just pop in to the shower afterwards and then do my usual routine. Doing it twice in my case seems pretty pointless, but maybe if I had to go to the gym and back - would consider this.

      RADMILKA1986 completely agree, a bit redundant and a waste of product. My workouts normally last 1.5hr max, so why would I want to waste good quality products that’s going to be washed off soon after?🤷🏽‍♀️

    This is interesting. I love that you talk about preventing redness before it happens because my face gets so red when I work out. I'd be interested to know your post-workout routine. I have an issue cleansing my skin post-workout to get all the sweat off. I always want to cleanse right after I go to the gym, but I can't carry my entire routine to the gym with me. What products are necessary after a workout?

    I always work out first thing in the morning before work, so I really just wake up and brush my teeth and head out the door and wait to do the full skincare ritual until after the gym. I am a heavy sweater and I have very sensitive skin and my skin gets very red at the gym. I've noticed if I put fresh products on right before I leave the house my skin freaks out once I start sweating (anyone else? aha). That said, if say I'm going to the gym hours after waking up or even mid-day I will do my full morning routine fresh out of bed and then just repeat it after the gym as well when I shower. And I will ALWAYS clean makeup off my face before a workout, going to the gym in my makeup is like asking for a breakout for me! I envy girls who can do that and not get acne from it, I sweat too damn much during my workouts (weightlifting, spin class, hot yoga).

    I used to wash my face with a gentle gel cleanser then apply some essence and a very light moisturizer and lip balm, but I think maybe I’ll try and find a treatment to put on instead of the essence, and try not washing my face so much in the morning with cleansers.

    I go to the gym or for a run when I wake up at 6/6:15 so I normally just use some micellar water and then go but I think I’m going to do a smaller routine before I go now. I always assumed I would clog my pores but I will see if it works.

    I was under the impression that the molecule size of collagen was too large to penetrate the skin, so it’s pointless to use topically. What do you think?

      Madeline Lemon Honestly, most “molecules” are too large to completely penetrate the skin but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a benefit. A lot of the time we’re trying to hydrate and treat the top layer of skin, while diet and lifestyle take care of it from the inside out.

    If I don't have makeup on then i just rinse my face with water and use some witch hazel on a cotton round and a lightweight face cream and that's it!

    I usually shower in the evening.. but I workout in the morning. Would you recommend just cleansing my face (I only use my cleanser at night because I have dry skin) with water after my workout and applying moisturizer and sunscreen? I workout indoors.. is it necessary to apply sunscreen before working out?I heard sweat causes acne if left on the skin..

    Tip: you are not supposed to leave micellar water or cleansing water on the skin, and instead cleanse them off with water.

    My issue is that I have acne so I have serums for it in my skin care, so I want to have it on most of the time and I don’t want to re apply . So should I excesize In the morning then shower and skin care so I’m ready for the day but it’s hard for me to exercise in the morning since I’m busy. I don’t know what to do

    Yess! I love doing skincare before a workout too! I personally love to wear a vitamin c serum! :) + moisturizer + SPF
    Is there a particular reason why you opted not to use Vitamin C? And eye cream?

      Cari Coss I sometimes use a vitamin C serum to the gym, but a lot of the time I don’t wear SPF to the gym, so I skip it. I also only really use eye cream before I wear makeup. 🤗

    What if you don’t sweat when you workout? I lift heavy weights but I’m not sweating- is makeup ok then? I might throw on some concealer or CC cream so I don’t look like the walking dead when I head to the grocery store after my gym runs.

    Can you maybe do a skincare routine for normal skin people? I want to start taking care of my skin (23) but I dont really know what I should be doing. All I do now is use a oil cleanser to take my makeup off and a moisturizer. And my only problem is I get blackheads on my nose.

    The only thing I do before the gym really is cleanse my skin to remove the Tretinoin and apply sunscream. Why would I waste an expensive collagen serum to sit on my face for only one hour which I’m going to swet all the time?

    With the exception of sunscreen (since it’s a long walk to the gym), putting on skincare products BEFORE my workout is about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard!

    For that missha sunscreen would you use it last (after your moisturizer) or as an essence (after your toner)?

      It's a sunscreen so always after moisturiser. She just compared it to the consistency of an essence it's not actually an essence

    How close after you finish your workout would you cleanse your face? Do you recommend washing your face at the gym, or is it fine to wait until you get home? :)

    I usually workout at night and just use a cleansing oil then exercise
    But I'm often like should I even put anything on if I'm literally taking a shower in 30 mins

    Love your videos! Your skin is so amazing, I could only dream 😍 Skincare is my favourite thing so spending a day with you would be a dream! So I just started using retinol and I’m wondering how you feel about the Drunk Elephant brand? Also I have acne prone skin that clogs easily (but it’s dry skin) so do you think that retinol is better in cream or serum form or does it matter? Thanks! 💋

    Hey Susan! I work 10hr shift at Amazon (the night shift :s) as you can imagine, it can get VERY busy. It’s a very demanding job, what do you think skincare if any should I be using?

    before my workout i just cleanse with a miscellar water then put moisturizer, after workout i cleanse with water/miscellar water then toner and moisturizer 😊

    I just tried this! I used Origins mushroom lotion and then Sephora's HYA lotion on top and my skin looks amazing! (added the products for if anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative than Susan's)

    There's a lot of non comedogenic sunblocks out there if you look, and personally I think they're awesome for everyday!

    I cleanse my face with a gentle cleanser then use a light moisturizer before my workouts. Sometimes I put on a lip balm.
