Joscho has a blistering technique, but oftenly it gets too much. Swing Manouch is about swing, not shredding. It's dance music and should be played in a proper dance tempo. Less is more. It's way more difficult to perform the swing manouche standards in a slow dance tempo and make it interesting. That was the greatness of Django. He made each phrase breath and swing without underlining his remarkable technique. Wish Joscho would slow things down, emphasise the swing bit and the big entertainer that's in him. Just like in this version of 'Minor blues'. That would bring Joscho to the big venues, to a bigger audience and to TV. The Roma-culture needs another Django to break into the Big World.
I like his taste for "the craziest playing". I can compare his taste with the great drummer Mike Portnoy. One guitar player and Mike.P drummer but the same taste for make music with this little craziest thing that sound different. This is awesome.
