The Bahncard 100 is valid in Germany only. The 49 Euro/month subscription has been around for some time now. It's valid all over Germany, but covers only local and regional transport, and not the long distance trains. You can still get everywhere, but it takes a lot longer because you have to change trains more often.

just to mention: 1 EUR = 1,08 USD so at the moment is nearly just the same.
The BahnCard is only usable on DB trains (Deutsche Bahn = German Railway), but we have the 49 EUR ticket, which allowes you to travel all over Germany by train for a month, but only regional trains - means no fast ICE and over regional trains. We say: These regional trains stop at every milk jug (= on every farm) (its just a little exaggerated) ;-) You can go to all places by this trains, but it takes more time and you will get a slower pace on your travels - can be nice too, if you have the time.

that was pretty accurate, i live outside of a bigger city in northern germany and pay around 750€ warm, (so rent + power, heating, water, internet etc) for a 3 room (2 bedroom+living room) apartment per month. the general public transport ticket is out now for 49€ a month, so you can take any bus, tram or train (but not Highspeed trains/ICE) with this ticket

The prices she mentioned are including tax. The price you see on the shelf is what you pay, exept for beverage that has Pfand/deposit. This will be added at the cashier.

Thanks for the video. Erika is telling here experiences (nothing wrong with this). I personally prefer statistical data covering the average situation. Type Ashton has a nice in detail comparison. Check out here channel. On average the Americans earn more than 20% but have to spend the same amount due to a better purchase parity power in Germany (this data is available from the OECD and the world bank). Also Germans work considerably less than the Americans (average annual working hours is 1350 in Germany and 1800 in the USA). So living in Germany is cheaper. I think this is because Germany (and many other European states) regulate the markets to a much higher degree than the USA to increase the power of consumers and employees and limit the power of corporations.

Absolutely great video from Hello Erika, including all of her jokes. Comfirm prizes, didn't raised much in the last 12 months or maybe decreased a little bit as inflation goes down.
Well ..net income in Germany is much lower as in USA (or Ohio). Some people have to spend 40% of net income just for housing.
On the other side groceries prizes might be half or less compared to USA, while gasoline prizes are double or more compared to USA.
Easy conversion Dollar vs EUR is 1 to 1, currently it's 100 EUR = 109 Dollar, so 10% more.
In general people can live more or less fine in both countries.

PS: Train card 100: Just in Germany, as the video is titled "in Germany". If you know(!) you will be that much on trains (for 4000 EUR) than it's worth. Otherwise not. The public transport ticket for 49 EUR per month is real now but excludes the fastest trains connection. But it's very cheap. For visitors: make clear before arriving how to get it.
